Chapter 843 Bitten from Behind
"Mrs. Eloise Harrington, we came here today, ready to accept any punishment, but please, for the sake of the past relationship between the Bryant family and the Harrington family, give Daisy a chance to turn over a new leaf and give the Bryant Group a chance to make amends."
Jerome pleaded humbly.
But Eloise shook her head and just said, "Get out."
"Jerome, you should leave now. Our family just learned about this from you, and my mother's blood pressure is unstable. We'll discuss this later."
Maximus stood up from the couch, showing them out.
Seeing Eloise's expression, Jerome didn't dare to stay any longer.
Daisy, however, took a few steps, then suddenly turned around and ran to Eloise, kneeling in front of her. "Mrs. Eloise Harrington, it was Isabella who taught me. She did it on purpose. Please don't blame me; it was all Isabella's doing."
"What?"
Hearing Isabella's name, Eloise became even more agitated, almost fainting.
"Get these two out of here."
Arabella, seeing Eloise's condition, was very worried.
Soon, Jerome and Daisy were driven out.
Arabella sat beside Eloise, helping her calm down. "Mom, please don't get too worked up. Didn't they say Victoria is with Alexander?"
"Call them. I want to hear their voices."Eloise demanded.
"Don't worry, Alexander knows how to handle this, "Brett reassured her.
Eloise thought about Alexander's unyielding nature but couldn't help muttering, "I need to hear him say everything is fine to be at ease."
It took Arabella five minutes to hear Alexander's voice.
Alexander said, "We were already asleep. What's going on?"
"Hey, Alex, where's Victoria? How is she?"
Eloise grabbed the phone and asked about Victoria.
"She's right here with me, Grandma. We're both fine, don't worry."
"That's good. Let me hear Victoria's voice."Eloise insisted.
Soon, Victoria's voice came through the phone, "Grandma, we're fine. Alexander and I are at a bar together. Please don't worry."
"Victoria, I was so scared."
Eloise suddenly couldn't hold back her tears.
"Grandma, I'm fine."
"Then rest well and come back tomorrow. I'm not in a hurry anymore."
Eloise hung up the phone, suddenly wiping her tears and feeling happy again.
Arabella, Maximus, and Brett looked on, puzzled. "Mom, what's going on now?"
"Victoria said they couldn't come back because they overindulged last night."
Eloise laughed as she spoke.
The others felt both awkward, and soon they couldn't help but smile.
Maybe this incident brought the two of them back together.
Judging by the time Alexander gave Victoria the phone, they guessed the two were still in bed together.
Victoria had drunk last night, and she should have sobered up by now. The fact that they were still together made the family increasingly happy.
Jerome and Daisy, after driving away, were utterly dejected.
Jerome parked the car by the roadside and turned to Daisy. "Tell me, why do you insist on Alexander, a married man?"
"Isn't he getting a divorce?"
"Has he divorced yet?"
"They're still living together, still sharing a life. What are you thinking?"
"Dad, I'm in love with him."
Daisy whispered.
"Ridiculous."
Daisy didn't understand Jerome's comment. Was her love ridiculous?
"The only thing you can do now is to find a man to marry immediately and never appear in front of that couple again."
"What? What do you mean by immediately, Dad?"
Daisy suddenly had a very bad feeling.
"By tomorrow morning."
Daisy suddenly felt utterly hopeless.
Was he going to marry her off just like that?
To those wealthy heirs who had nothing but a pretty face?
She wasn't interested.
She wanted a man who could withstand any hardship, who could stand out in a crowd, and immediately become the center of attention.
She wanted the man at the top, not those dandies who lived off their parents.
She was fed up with those dandies, who knew nothing but thought they were better than everyone else.
But what should she do next?
What would Alexander do when he found out she had drugged Victoria?
Daisy suddenly thought of that haggard face in prison and felt scared.
She didn't want to end up like Isabella.
"You were used by Isabella but still thought you were in control. Do you know who she used to be?"
Jerome sighed and then started the car again.
What could he still do for Daisy?
In the upscale room of the bar.
Alexander returned to bed in the middle of the night after a serious phone call with Maximus, explaining most of the situation.
But when he returned, he found Victoria's phone lit up, though she seemed to be asleep. He reached out his hand but was immediately grabbed.
Of course, she intended to grab the phone.
Alexander looked down at Victoria, who was sleeping in his arms due to their position. "You're not asleep?"
Though he spoke softly, Victoria was annoyed. She immediately took her phone from his hand and hid under the covers, pretending to sleep again.
There was no way she could sleep.
Her mind was full of thoughts about Daisy.
And Alexander hadn't said a word about it.
"You answered Daisy's call. Fifty-seven seconds."
Alexander suddenly spoke.
Victoria slowly opened her eyes.
Seeing she was no longer pretending to sleep, Alexander smiled, then let go of her and lay back on his side.
Victoria struggled to turn over and stared at him. "Do you know who drugged me?"
"Yes."
"And you didn't tell me?"
Victoria was anxious but didn't dare to show it too much.
Alexander fiddled with his phone. "I was going to tell you."
Victoria stared at him, waiting for him to speak.
But Alexander remained silent, only glancing at her.
Victoria felt he was doing this on purpose. She was anxious and frowned but held back, thinking he was waiting for her to beg him. She turned over and pretended to sleep again.
She needed to stay calm and not fall into his trap again.
After all, she was the one who had been drugged.
Victoria was still shaken, thinking about what could have happened if he hadn't come along.
She didn't know how long it had been, but she couldn't wait any longer.
The room was dark, and Alexander lay still behind her. She suddenly turned over.
Alexander still didn't move.
Victoria bit his back.
