Chapter 48 Preparing Your Wedding

Victoria looked up at him, feeling that something was off.
Especially when she turned her head to see Isabella not far away; she felt even more incredulous.
Was he arguing with Isabella?
So, he was using her to provoke Isabella?
"Alex."
Isabella didn't approach but called out to him.
Alexander turned his head to look at Isabella, then asked Victoria, "Have you finished breakfast?"
"Yes."
Victoria replied, holding her breath.
"Little pig, I thought you weren't hungry." Alexander said.
What was up with his casual yet doting tone?
Victoria was so frightened that she was trembling.
His usual cold and distant demeanor was scary enough, but his sudden doting tone now was even more terrifying.
"Jasmine probably doesn't know yet, but Miss Kensington is actually our little sister."
Isabella, seeing that he was ignoring her, stepped forward, naturally gripping Alexander's arm.
Alexander glanced in her direction, but she still didn't let go.
"Hehe, so that's how it is."
Jasmine felt her hairs stand on end. This scene was almost like a restricted level of an alternative genre. The collision between the wife and the mistress seemed to be about to result in bloodshed.
"Let's go back to the office quickly. Didn't we agree to take a nap after work? You're still running a fever."
Isabella spoke to him considerately.
"Um."
Before Alexander left, he looked at Victoria again, "Remind me to take my temperature later."
Victoria watched him leave without saying a word.
"I'm here; don't bother Vicky. Let's go."
Isabella pulled him along.
Alexander glanced at Isabella, but Isabella remained resolute.
By noon, the two of them hadn't come out.
Alexander had fallen asleep, and Isabella had Victoria order food for them.
When Victoria went in, Isabella came out of the lounge but two buttons of her dress were undone. She looked embarrassed and quickly buttoned up, laughing, "Sorry, Alex is a bit clingy... What's for lunch? It smells good."
She was asserting her territory quite boldly.
"According to your instructions, Miss Montgomery, the food is light yet nutritious. The head chef from the hotel personally cooked it and professional staff delivered it directly to the top floor office."
Victoria lowered her eyes, looking at the food box she brought as she explained carefully.
She wouldn't give Isabella an easy chance to find fault with her.
After listening to her, Isabella laughed again, "You're really careful; no wonder Alex pays extra attention to you."
"If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave."
Victoria handed her the food box.
"Yes, there was a set of pajamas on the sofa earlier. It looked a bit old so I threw it away."
Isabella took it, looking straight at her as she mentioned that.
Victoria calmly smiled, nodded, and left.
But as soon as Victoria left, Isabella's face fell.
She knew Victoria must be pretending to be calm.
She didn't believe Victoria could truly be indifferent.
Ideally, Victoria would propose the divorce herself. She couldn't help but glance inside. There seemed to be some movement, and she immediately turned around with the food box and went in.
"Alex, the hotel sent lunch."
She said after entering.
——
That evening, when Victoria was about to take a taxi after work, a car suddenly stopped in front of her.
"Vicky, come with us."
The passenger window rolled down, and Isabella spoke to her in a friendly manner again.
Victoria stepped aside, "Thank you, but I have an appointment."
Alexander held the steering wheel, glancing at her.
She lowered her gaze, not engaging with him.
"I see, you're not meeting a boyfriend, are you? If you are, remember to tell me and Alex. We'll prepare your wedding like you're our sister."
