Chapter 807 However, the One in Jail

"I want a divorce."

Victoria was resolute.

Even if Alexander admitted he was despicable and shameless, he admitted he was wrong.

But in her heart, everything was irreparable.

There had long been a wide chasm between them, one she might never be able to cross.

Even if there were still feelings, the pain she felt was extraordinary, leaving her no longer daring to hope, it was complete abandonment.

"Impossible."

He was just as resolute.

Victoria sneered, and she quickly continued, "I am determined to get a divorce. I don't believe there's anything in this world you can't control. Otherwise, how could Grandma have been kidnapped? How could you have fallen into that woman's trap?"

She lowered her eyes, slowly finishing her thoughts, then softly added, "Please leave, thank you."

"In the end, it's still because of that incident. If it hadn't happened..."

Alexander didn't finish, choking up, then looked at her aloofly.

"But we both know it happened, and you made your choice immediately."

Victoria finished for him.

"In any case, divorce is impossible. I'll tell you the truth again today; I haven't let go."

He told her with certainty.

He wasn't angry anymore; he was just upset about the impact this had on their marriage.

"You should let go as soon as possible. You can still develop a relationship with other women."

Victoria said and then returned to her room.

When he said he hadn't let go, she knew what he meant.

She didn't feel lucky, nor did she feel pain; she just felt those words were unnecessary.

She had no feelings for him anymore.

Alexander later left with Strawberry, leaving only Eve and her at home. She lay on the bed, waiting for Eve to adjust the back massage device, then started handling VicLiv matters on her phone.

Eve and Frank went to a nearby supermarket to buy groceries. Eve said, "Mr. Harrington went too far this time."

"What did he do?"

"He hired an investigator and put on a big show without any of us knowing."

Eve said.

Frank chuckled, "I think Mr. Harrington is a bit pitiful."

Eve looked at him disapprovingly. After all, Alexander had always held the upper hand.

"Just goes to show, you women are hard to deal with."

Frank smiled slightly at her and then continued picking out vegetables.

Eve didn't want to talk to him anymore. Men and women did think differently.

Was it easier for the same gender to empathize?

But he said Alexander was pitiful. Victoria was the one covered in wounds, heartbroken, humiliated after ten months of pregnancy, and who had her child taken away by the Harrington family after they found out about Strawberry.

"Did you hear? The head of the Harrington family, after several years of marriage, only had one child, and it was a girl. His marriage probably won't last long."

"That might not even be Mrs. Harrington's child. We never saw her pregnant. After so long, she came back saying she gave birth abroad. Who knows if she used a surrogate?"

"Yeah, I heard surrogacy is common among the rich now. These women want to keep their figures to attract men, so they use other women's wombs to have children."

When they heard this, Eve was holding a radish. She squeezed it hard, ready to throw it, but Frank silently held her hand and shook his head.

Eve glanced at him, fuming, but she knew the consequences of hitting someone, so she held back.

But those people would continue, saying, "After all these years, she only had a girl. She might soon be kicked out by the Harrington family."

"Exactly, the Harrington family is so wealthy, how could they keep a woman who only had a girl for so many years? I heard Eloise Harrington is already praying for a great-grandson. Victoria might soon become a discarded woman."

"That would be interesting. I heard the Harrington family is close to the Bryant family. Ms. Bryant is healthy and might have several boys."

"Could they abandon Victoria, who only has girls, and marry Ms. Bryant from the Bryant family? Someone even saw Ms. Bryant having dinner with Mr. Harrington. They were laughing and talking, so intimate."

"Hey, what nonsense are you talking about?"

Eve couldn't listen anymore and pointed the radish at them, questioning.

"Who are you? What does our conversation have to do with you?"

The woman saw she was fierce and left after saying that.

Eve was furious, not expecting people to talk about Victoria like that.

Only having girls, and possibly through surrogacy?

"Mrs. Harrington went through so much to give birth to Strawberry. How can they slander her like that?"

Eve couldn't help but mutter.

Frank looked at the backs of the departing women, noticing their attire wasn't ordinary. He thought for a moment and said, "Look closely at their clothes and bags. This supermarket is so close to our neighborhood, and our neighborhood is an old one in the city. The location is decent, but it's not a place for brand names. The supermarket is just an ordinary one. Isn't it strange for girls like them to appear here?"

Eve was stunned but couldn't help staring at the departing girls. Their clothes didn't show brands, but they were not cheap, and two of them had expensive Chanel bags.

It's not that there weren't people in their neighborhood with such expensive bags, but it was too coincidental for these girls to appear just when they were shopping.

When they got home, they told Victoria about it. After her back felt better, Victoria went to the living room to bask in the sun. She had just finished handling VicLiv matters and put her phone aside. "Just ignore the gossip."

"But they slandered you so badly."

"It's not the first time I've been slandered."

Though the surrogacy accusation did anger her, she had seen her fair share of people with no sense of boundaries.

"Since we're idle, Eve, why don't we guess who's behind this?"

"What?"

"I was thinking of Ms. Bryant from the Bryant family."

Frank spoke first.

"Her."

Eve immediately agreed.

"Not necessarily."

Victoria slowly sat up and sighed helplessly.

Daisy wasn't stupid, but...

"Not necessarily? She's the one hoping every day for you and Mr. Harrington to divorce so she can marry him. She's the most proactive and scheming. Don't you remember how she framed Ms. Hughes before?"

"I haven't forgotten, but she might just be being used by someone else."

Victoria's words left Eve stunned. After thinking for a long time, she asked, "Do you mean Jerome is using her?"

"Jerome's love for his daughter is well-known. However, the one in jail."
