Chapter 443 Relying on Alexander

Victoria was furious. When she changed clothes in the morning, she saw that his clothes took up more than half of the large wardrobe.

"That was an oversight on my part. If you plan to stay in this small apartment for a while, I'll have them bring over more of your clothes too," Alexander said.

Victoria crossed her arms and leaned her head back in anger, then stared at him intently.

Alexander's calm and composed demeanor made it seem like he thought he was completely in the right.

Victoria told herself, 'Stay calm. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to argue with him.'

Alexander's logic was beyond most people's understanding.

Victoria held back and then asked him more calmly, "Do you know this is a single women's apartment?"

"What? Where's the single woman here?" Alexander was filled with confusion.

Victoria took a sharp breath again and told herself, 'Don't get angry.'

"Mr. Harrington, please take this seriously. We can't possibly be a real couple," Victoria continued.

"This morning, you were crying under me. After you're out of bed, are we not a couple anymore?" Alexander said.

Victoria was about to lose her mind with anger. Unable to continue the conversation with him, she turned and walked out.

Alexander glanced at her closet, gently closed it, and then took out his phone, saying, "Bring Mrs. Harrington's clothes to Rockland Street, a few sets. It's getting cold, so bring her some long pants."

Victoria stopped outside the bedroom. He seemed to care about her. In truth, she was grateful Isabella had found a man who didn't like women. Otherwise, she...

Life had to go on. She told herself, 'Stay calm and not let Alexander drive me crazy. '

Victoria was still upset on her way to work. When Adrian called, Victoria answered immediately, "Hello? Adrian?"

"I sent it to you. Could you listen to it and give me your honest feedback?" Adrian asked.

"Okay." Victoria hung up and then opened Facebook to receive the file.

Soon, music started playing from her phone, followed by Adrian's sad voice.

Alexander drove seriously. When they stopped at a red light, Victoria fiddled with her phone, and then the music played through Alexander's car speakers. She had to admit, Adrian's lyrics were good. It sang, "If it weren't for loving you, I wouldn't be here."

What was Adrian trying to express to Victoria with this song? Victoria found herself getting a bit lost in the music. 'Why haven't I left this city?' Victoria choked up but kept silent, staring out the window.

When they arrived at the office building, she told herself she hadn't left because a man had stolen her documents. A man who liked plush bunny toys.

Dorian arrived at the top floor around ten in the morning. He saw Alexander say to Victoria, "I originally thought you were a kind girl, but I don't expect you to want my daughter dead."

Victoria looked at him, puzzled. Even Janaye was stunned, thinking, 'Who is trying to kill whom? The scars on Victoria's wrist haven't completely faded.'

Victoria didn't say anything, just knocked on the door. "Mr. Harrington, Mr. Montgomery is here."

"Let him in," Alexander said as he closed his computer screen.

Victoria opened the door and quietly waited for Dorian to enter.

Dorian glared at her, thinking she was foolish. 'In Ankenra City, although the Harrington family is dominant, the Montgomery family is also highly respected. Does she think she could be arrogant just because she relies on Alexander?'

After Dorian went in, Victoria closed the door and returned to her seat.

Janaye brought them coffee and then whispered to Victoria, "Dorian said Isabella doesn't have long to live. Is she really going to die?"

"Wait and see," Victoria replied.

Victoria thought, 'If Isabella were really dying, I wouldn't have the energy to cause so much trouble.'

Victoria suspected Isabella was faking it, not wanting to waste too much time investigating Isabella.

After about ten minutes, Dorian left. Alexander called Victoria, asking her to prepare the car. She agreed but was surprised when Dorian approached her desk again.

Victoria agreed, but unexpectedly, Dorian walked up to her desk again. "Mrs. Kensington, it's better to stay humble. Just because you have Mr. Harrington for now doesn't mean you can look down on others. Life is long, after all, right?"

"I'll return that advice to you, Mr. Montgomery. Don't think you can look down on people just because you're on top right now. Life is long, after all, right?" Victoria coldly retorted.
