Chapter 365 The bond of growing up together is incomparable to an outsider
"What's so embarrassing?" Alexander asked.
"Just, it's just really embarrassing," Victoria muttered.
Victoria suddenly felt a bit self-doubt,. After some hesitance, she asked, "Is it because I am too ugly?’
Seeing her blushing face, Alexander suddenly had a realization. He sighed resignedly and said, "Then forget it, it's just the side effects of the medication, as long as your body is fine."
Victoria nodded and said, "Okay."
Just as Alexander was about to hold her hand and lead her away, an annoying voice suddenly called out.
"Alexander? Are you here to visit Isabella?"
"Hi, Naomi," Alexander greeted her curtly.
He frowned as he looked at the person who suddenly appeared in front of him.
"I knew you were still worried about Isabella. The bond you two share from growing up together is incomparable to an outsider, but why are you still with her?"
Naomi looked at Victoria, suddenly displeased.
Victoria also looked at Naomi, thinking to herself, 'What's wrong with being with me?'
Suddenly, she felt Alexander's grip on her hand tighten. Victoria looked up at Alexander, then gradually calmed down.
He then replied to Naomi that he wasn't here to visit Isabella, he was just accompanying his wife for a check-up.
After clarifying, Alexander, polite yet distant, led Victoria out without looking back.
Naomi watched Alexander and Victoria leave, subconsciously feeling resentful.
She couldn't understand. 'What tricks is that woman using to make such a shrewd person like Alexander, not let go of her.'
Naomi thought about the things she and her daughter had done recently, each one enough to make a husband angry with his wife.
She continued to ponder inwardly, 'But the two of them actually came to do a check-up holding hands?'
Outside the hospital, Victoria suddenly stopped. "Alexander."
Alexander looked at her. "Why are you calling me like that again?"
Victoria said, "I know everything now. Isabella has leukemia."
Probably because he helped her buy pregnancy tests and held the urine cup for her, when she thought she was pregnant, he had always been steadfastly by her side. She felt she should say something.
Alexander was also moved upon hearing this, then walked back to her, asking softly, "Who told you?"
She replied, "Isabella told me when she went to find you that day, she told me in the restroom."
Alexander frowned, because he recalled Isabella telling me to keep her illness a secret.
"And last night, her father came to me, saying his daughter has leukemia," Victoria told him seriously.
"Yes, that's what he said. Let's go first. It's the weekend today. Let's not linger here." Alexander still held her hand, put his arm around her shoulder, and led her towards the parking lot.
Victoria looked up at him, the sunlight was a bit intense today, even his silhouette seemed a bit tough.
He held her hand and embraced her shoulder intimately, they seemed like a newlywed couple in love.
Victoria couldn't help but feel a pang in her heart, her eyes suddenly reddened.
She lowered her gaze, silently following him. She thought, 'How nice it would be if life could always be this beautiful?' Thinking of this, she couldn't help but look at him again, gazing at him affectionately. At first sight, she felt he was very reliable.
She mused, 'If he had a girlfriend, he would probably love that girl very much. But that girl is not me after all.'
Victoria still couldn't understand what she meant to him. But at this moment, she didn't care anymore.
She got into his car and he drove them up the mountain.
Edward and Olivia were already up there. After they arrived at the top of the mountain, Victoria looked at the two of them, then turned to Alexander, "Did you plan this in advance?"
"When you were having the check-up, Edward sent me a WhatsApp."
Originally, he wanted to watch a movie she liked at home with her.
But after Edward sent the WhatsApp message, he thought she might not want to watch a movie with him at home, so going out for a walk or something was also good.
So they ended up here.
After Alexander got out of the car, Victoria then unfastened her seatbelt. Before she even had a chance to open the car door, Alexander had already helped her with it.
She couldn't help but look up at him again. He extended his hand in front of her. "Is this okay?"
