Chapter 816 Alexander, Another Madman

Alexander was also a madman.

But he knew when to stop.

For the next week, Alexander didn't go to Victoria's place to see Strawberry. On Saturday, he even had Eve bring Strawberry to him.

Victoria wasn't doing well either; her appeal was rejected again.

Then, she started to abstain from alcohol.

One day, he called her while she was cleaning. She answered the phone, and he said, "That night, nothing happened between us."

He hung up right after as if deeply hurt by her.

Of course, he did stop his actions that morning.

He left home, and they parted on bad terms.

Victoria felt that was it between them.

The wind was like a blade, painfully cutting her face as she walked alone on the street to buy coffee.

She sat alone by the window in the coffee shop, silently watching the occasional passersby outside.

Daisy and her friend pushed the door open and, upon seeing Victoria, immediately approached her.

"Victoria."

Daisy, struggling to hide her temper, looked down at Victoria and reluctantly called her name.

Victoria snapped out of her thoughts, slowly turning her eyes to look at her, "Ms. Bryant."

"You are quite composed, but I wonder if it's genuine or just an act."

Daisy's newly acquainted friend, Lila Perez, was particularly obsequious to Daisy because she wanted to ingratiate herself with the Bryant family.

Victoria glanced at her indifferently, initially wanting to ask who she was, but the barista brought her packed coffee, so Victoria stood up and politely said, "I have to leave now."

Daisy didn't dare provoke Victoria but was unwilling to give up. She looked at Victoria, who was about to leave, and couldn't help but say, "I went to see Isabella."

Victoria took the coffee without turning back.

But the name Isabella made her stop.

"She's not doing well. It's said that her health is deteriorating. You ruined her."Daisy said.

At this moment, Daisy saw Victoria as a criminal at large, pretending to be innocent.

Victoria found it amusing. Did she ruin Isabella?

She started walking towards the door, thinking that it would be great if that were true.

"Hey, Ms. Bryant is talking to you. Don't you have any manners? Don't you know how to reply?"

Lila stepped forward, quickly blocking and accusing her.

"Move."

Victoria looked at her coldly, her voice still calm.

"Who are you telling to move? I heard that when your parents died, you were already twenty. They should have taught you manners long ago, or is it that your family..."

Before she could finish, Victoria splashed the coffee in her hand onto her face.

The lid was secure, and Victoria had ordered hot coffee. The moment it splashed, some coffee spilled onto Victoria's hand, but most of it landed on Lila's face.

Lila's face immediately turned red from the burn, and she stood there, stunned and silent.

"Victoria, what are you doing?"

Daisy quickly stepped forward, grabbed Victoria's hand, and pushed her back, then worriedly checked on Lila, "How are you? It looks like you're burned. You need to go to the hospital immediately."

"My face, you can't leave!"

Lila, realizing she might be disfigured, suddenly lunged at Victoria, tearing at her shirt and pulling her back.

Victoria couldn't keep her balance, but before she fell, a female barista caught her, looking confused at the two girls bullying Victoria.

The door opened again, and Frank and Eve quickly approached, "Mrs. Harrington, what are you two doing?"

Frank didn't immediately throw a punch at Lila, but Eve quickly grabbed Lila's collar and menacingly questioned her.

"She splashed hot coffee on me first."

Lila was terrified and stammered an explanation.

"Why would Mrs. Harrington splash you for no reason?"

Eve questioned again.

The barista, seeing Victoria's red hand, couldn't help but speak up for her, "This customer said something nasty to the lady first."

"You're outrageous."

Eve grabbed Lila's collar with her other hand and pushed her away forcefully before she could strangle her.

When Lila fell, her tailbone hurt as if it had broken.

Eve didn't care and looked at Daisy, "Ms. Bryant, I bet you had a hand in this, too."

"It has nothing to do with me."

Daisy waved her hands, quickly helping Lila up and dragging her out.

Eve snorted in dissatisfaction, then turned to Victoria, "Mrs. Harrington, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, thanks to this young lady for catching me in time. Thank you."

Victoria said, quickly thanking the barista.

"It was nothing, but those two girls were making trouble. You should stay away from them when you're alone."

Victoria felt a warmth in her heart at these words.

Victoria bought another coffee and, before leaving, thought that if she just left, the barista might get fired soon.

After getting in the car, she spoke to Frank, "Frank, could you do something for me?"

Frank quickly went back into the coffee shop and was led upstairs by the manager.

Eve took Victoria away first.

Victoria suddenly felt a bit more spirited.

Eloise was sick, and Frank took Victoria to Metro House that evening.

As soon as the car stopped, Frank got out first.

"Mrs. Harrington."

Frank opened the car door for her.

Victoria responded, got out, and saw the car that had stopped behind them.

Alexander's tall figure emerged, exuding a cold aura.

"Mr. Harrington."

Frank nodded.

Victoria had been wondering why Frank, who usually waited in the car, was suddenly so eager to open the door for her tonight.

It turned out Frank wanted to greet him.

Alexander nodded and then stopped in front of her, "We need to talk."

Victoria didn't refuse.

Frank got back in the car and drove away. Only then did Alexander speak, "Grandma is not feeling well. I hope you can put on your best performance in front of her and not make her worry about us."

A cold wind blew, scattering her hair. She lowered her head, raised her hand to tuck the blown hair behind her ear, and said softly, "Got it."

She didn't want Eloise to be sad about their issues at this time, either.

It was said that Eloise fainted while playing with the dog. After a check-up, it turned out to be diabetes, but she refused to go to the hospital, so she had the medical equipment brought home for treatment.

Seeing Victoria agree, Alexander quickly strode inside, and Victoria turned to follow.

"Mr. Harrington, Mrs. Harrington is back."

"Yeah."

Alexander responded without looking back.

"Mason."

Victoria greeted at the door, "How is Grandma this afternoon?"

"She's a bit better, but suddenly being diagnosed with severe diabetes, the doctor told her to avoid certain foods, and she was acting a bit childish about it."

Mason explained patiently as they walked inside.

Alexander stopped outside Eloise's room, suddenly turned around, and extended his hand.
