Chapter 736 He said, It's too dirty
Alexander's face turned stormy. When Ava walked in and saw him, she quickly said, "Hi, Mr. Harrington."
Alexander heard her, glanced up for a second, then went back to staring at Victoria by the bedside..
He was seriously ticked off, thinking she was comforting another guy.
He didn't bother with pleasantries; he just kept his eyes locked on her.
Adrian had the nerve to hold Victoria's hand; what a jerk.
Adrian said, "Victoria, if my luck turns around, I'll share all my good fortune with you."
Victoria smiled, not wanting to make Adrian feel worse, but come on, they knew where they stood.
Plus, he'd been holding her hand way too long.
She could ignore Alexander's presence, but she couldn't let Adrian keep holding her hand. She gently pulled her hand away, stood up, and turned to Ava, asking, "Ms. Montgomery, what did the doctor say?"
"False alarm, no need to worry."
"How can we not worry? I'm in so much pain right now," Adrian whined after hearing Ava's words.
Ava sighed, "Would the doctor lie? You just got hurt; of course, it's gonna hurt for a few days."
"It's not just a few days. Ask Victoria how long I've been in pain. It's still not getting better; I might end up disabled. I might as well quit the entertainment industry."
Adrian had always thought about leaving the industry, and he figured this was his chance.
"That's not happening. You have so many contracts. Do you know what quitting would mean? Besides, how can you compare yourself to Victoria?"
Ava knew how bad Victoria's injuries were.
Hearing them talk about her again, Victoria quickly said, "It's good that you're okay, Adrian. Get some rest, and I'll visit you another day."
"You're leaving?"
"Yeah, I haven't had lunch yet, and I have some stuff to do this afternoon," Victoria said, grabbing her bag.
Adrian felt like his heart was being ripped out.
It seemed she didn't care about him that much.
"Then I'll be going."
Victoria said goodbye to Ava and Ivan and left.
Ivan kindly opened the door for her.
After Victoria left, Alexander slowly walked past the foot of the bed and then suddenly stopped, turning his head as he said, "I usually don't get involved in your business, but Adrian, I support your decision to leave the entertainment industry. I'll cover all your losses after you quit."
Ivan and Ava were stunned. Ava whispered, "Mr. Harrington, this might not be appropriate."
"The Harrington Family doesn't care about that penalty money. You should know he's a young master of the Harrington Family."
Ava didn't dare argue with Alexander, but after he left, Ivan quickly closed the door. Ava turned to Adrian, saying, "Don't even think about leaving the entertainment industry."
"I'm not quitting."
Ava was stunned.
He suddenly decided not to quit?
She had wanted to slap him when he talked about quitting recently.
But now he said he wouldn't quit, and he seemed pretty determined.
Adrian decided not to quit after hearing Alexander's words.
Why did Alexander want him to quit?
Adrian filmed domestically.
In the elevator, Alexander stood next to Victoria. When they reached the eighth floor, Alexander asked, "Do you want to get a check-up?"
Victoria looked at him and thought, 'What check-up?'
Alexander turned to look at her, subtly reminding her, "Your back injury."
Victoria said with a soft and gentle smile, "Thanks for your concern, but it's not necessary."
She was taken aback that he mentioned it. He usually didn't. If he did, it was just to check on her health. If she wasn't doing well, he'd have an excuse to keep her from seeing Strawberry. She wasn't about to go for a check-up.
"Then forget it," Alexander said coolly, but his eyes stayed glued to her hand holding the bag.
Alexander drove her to a restaurant near the office building, where he had already ordered food.
When he parked, Victoria glanced at the entrance and said, "I'll eat somewhere else."
"I ordered a meal for two. Come on."
"Really, it's not necessary. I appreciate it," she said, seeing his serious expression and feeling the need to add those words.
Alexander didn't look pleased. After getting out of the car, he went straight to the passenger side. Victoria was about to get out herself but ended up being pulled out by her wrist.
"Do I need to carry you in?"
No, it would look better if she walked in on her own.
However, having a meal together would cause misunderstandings.
People around here knew the Harrington family's matriarch had returned.
But shouldn't they also know she was divorced?
Alexander delivering the divorce papers was such a big deal; how was it not widely known?
Once inside the private room, the staff immediately served the dishes.
Victoria didn't even have time to put down her bag before he dragged her into the adjacent restroom.
Alexander held her wrist with one hand and her shoulder with the other, forcing her to the sink.
Victoria almost tripped several times. Once there, she turned to look at him, saying, "What are you doing?"
"Wash your hands," he said coldly as he turned on the faucet.
Victoria instinctively struggled, but Alexander held her wrists and said coldly, "You better behave."
"What's wrong with you? I can wash my hands myself."
She was going to wash her hands before eating anyway.
"You probably can't wash them clean."
Victoria retorted angrily, "Who says I can't wash them clean? I'm not a child."
Seeing her determined look, Alexander let go of her and stepped back, "Go head."
She found him very strange.
What was he trying to do?
Victoria was a bit scared, afraid he might suddenly attack again. She could only guard against him while silently turning to wash her hands.
She wanted to maintain a safe distance.
While washing her hands, she noticed her heart was racing. She thought to herself, 'Calm down, don't be afraid of him.'
Alexander stood by, watching. When she reached for a paper towel to dry her hands, he immediately grabbed her wrist, saying, "Your hands aren't clean yet."
Victoria looked at his hand holding hers, unable to understand, and could only look up at him, saying, "Where are they not clean?"
"Everywhere."
Alexander said, holding her wrist with one hand and picking up a bottle of hand sanitizer with the other.
Victoria was genuinely stunned.
He sprayed the hand sanitizer directly on her hands, not just once or twice, but many times, until the sanitizer was dripping off.
Victoria's mouth moved several times, but she couldn't ask what he was doing.
She thought if there was another bottle of sanitizer on the counter, would he directly dunk her hands into it?
She saw his hands were also covered in sanitizer as he rubbed her hands, meticulously cleaning each finger.
Victoria, who was trying to stay calm, couldn't help but ask, "Alexander, what the hell is wrong with you?"
He focused on rubbing her hands and replied, "They're too dirty."
