Chapter 496 Wedding Dress

Alexander's ringed hand grabbed her neck, his thin lips meeting her hot ones.

Victoria felt so breathless she was about to faint.

"Do you want me to lull you to sleep?"

Alexander asked her softly.

"No need." Victoria got up, somewhat dazed, and walked towards the lounge.

Alexander couldn't help but touch his lips, wanting to savor her taste a little longer.

He couldn't help but stare straight at her slender back. Her parents had been gone for a long time, but it seemed she still hadn't moved on from that accident.

She was nervous and skeptical, and she didn't like making friends. He believed Olivia was her only friend outside her coworker Janaye.

For her 24th birthday in a few months, she should be full of energy and confidence.

The phone rang, and he answered it.

"What's up?" Alexander asked.

"Alexander, it's me." It was Edward's phone, but the voice on the other end was Isabella's.

"You're awake." Alexander smiled faintly.

"I want to see you." Isabella's hoarse voice sounded like she had been through torment.

"Sorry, I don't have time to visit you today," Alexander said flatly.

"I know you came to the hospital. Why didn't you come up to see me?" She questioned.

"My wife has a bit of a fever. I just went to get her some fever medicine," Alexander replied.

"Alexander, have you really fallen in love with her?" She asked again.

Isabella felt like her heart was being sliced as he explained calmly.

Alexander took a deep breath, quietly pondering her question.

'I'm not sure if I fell in love with Victoria in the lounge, but I desire her at first sight.'

He even thought about them having children.

He didn't reply to her and ended the phone.

At noon, he had lunch delivered from the restaurant. After entering the lounge and seeing Victoria sleeping, he sat near the bed and touched her forehead.

She had a fever again.

Her forehead was burning hot.

He looked down at her small face, uncomfortable from the fever, just about to withdraw his hand.

"Alexander," Victoria whispered.

"What's wrong?" He looked at her seriously, not daring to make another sound.

She was calling him.

"Don't do this," she said softly.

Alexander squinted at seeing the tear stains at the corners of her eyes. He reached out and gently wiped them away.

Did she worry that he didn't love her and mess around with her feelings?

How could he have that ability?

Alexander was about to remove his hand when his arm was wrapped around her.

She hugged him.

Alexander looked at her silently, then carefully crawled to the other side of her.

Over an hour later, the lunch outside had gone cold when she slowly opened her eyes.

The strong arm she was holding made her curious. After looking down, her heart raced, and she turned around.

After seeing the man behind her glance at her, she immediately let go of him and slowly sat up.

She wanted to ask why he was there, but this was his lounge.

She was silent, unsure what to say until he hugged her behind.

 "Were you still feeling unwell?"

"Much better," she whispered.

Seeing her discomfort, Alexander suddenly said, "I came to wake you up for lunch, but you grabbed my arms, so I had to lie beside you."

'Is that so?' She thought.

"Victoria, you seem to be quite attached to me," Alexander teased.

"How could that be?" She retorted, now fully awake, removing his arms.

"This isn't the first time I've heard you call my name in your sleep." Alexander rested his chin on her shoulder, his sexy voice in her ear.

Victoria's ears immediately turned red, and her heart was in turmoil from his breath. She appreciated his intimacy yet hated that she didn't reject it.

That day, Alexander had Mark drive her to a place. After arriving, she realized it was the newly finished design studio of TI.

"Mrs. Harrington's wedding dress was completed a couple of days ago. All our staff are eagerly awaiting to see Mrs. Harrington in the dress," the staff member said politely as they led her to James's office.

She nodded politely in thanks, but when reaching James's office door, Victoria heard a familiar voice inside.

"How do I look in this?" Isabella asked.

James frowned as he looked at Isabella in the wedding dress.

"Actually, I want to get married in this dress," Isabella added.

"Mr. Reed doesn't seem to be getting a divorce." James puzzled.

"I don't want to marry him but Mr. Harrington," Isabella said to James.

James asked,  "Can't it be Mr. Harrington from Ankenra City, right?"

"Yes, this wedding dress was originally chosen by us," Isabella said, looking at herself in the mirror.

James's frown deepened, and he finally felt a headache, pressing it hard.

"Mr. Patel, Mrs. Harrington is here," the staff member said at the door, unaware of the situation.

"Please let her in." James was first stunned, then immediately stood up.

Isabella's eyes showed harshness, but she turned around with a gentle smile as she faced the door.

Victoria reached the doorway and found Isabella in the bridal dress excitedly approaching her.

"Victoria, you're just in time. Help me see how this looks."

Isabella approached Victoria, grasped her hand, and spun around in front of her after a few steps.

Victoria stared at her wedding dress, remaining calm and composed, and said lightly, "Not bad."

It was indeed so.

"Really? Alexander and I chose this, and it's also Mr. Patel's main design," Isabella said.

"It's a showpiece from three years ago. I only gave some input, didn't personally work on it," James explained instinctively.

At that time, they had added his name to attract customers for promotional purposes.

"Giving input and personally working on it are pretty much the same," Isabella said.

"Absolutely not." James realized Isabella wasn't as understanding as his friend had said and turned to explain to Victoria seriously.

Victoria smiled and nodded at him, formally greeting, "Mr. Patel, long time no see."

"Mrs. Harrington, long time no see." James instantly shook hands with Victoria and courteously turned to Isabella.

"This is the time Mr. Harrington reserved for Mrs. Harrington. Ms. Montgomery, please leave!"

"I promised you when I came, but Victoria and I are actually very close, so can you not ask me to leave? Victoria?" Isabella begged.

"I want a quiet environment." Victoria looked at James and said.

James nodded and looked at Isabella.

Victoria and James were too reticent, but Isabella didn't notice. "Let me see your wedding dress. I heard Alexander also gave his input. I want to see if his taste has changed recently."
