Chapter 690 The Twins Met Again

"If you don't give a damn, why did you stop your mom?"

Brett just laughed and kept talking.

Alexander never thought Brett could be so sharp.

He gave in and smirked, "Whatever."

After Alexander bounced, Arabella, feeling bad for her son, turned to Brett, "Dad, why you gotta poke at his wounds like that?"

"If he says he doesn't care, even when it stings, what's the point of going easy on him?" Brett shot back.

"But you know he's been having a rough year."

"He needs to admit it himself," Brett said, sounding cold.

Arabella's heart ached more seeing Alexander's state. It seemed like everyone was waiting for him to realize he cared about that woman, but how could he not know if he cared or not?

No matter how tough he acted, he still couldn't sleep at night.

He kept saying he didn't care anymore, but he didn't even dare to go on a business trip over there.

Wasn't he just scared he'd lose control and go looking for her?

The next morning, Arabella hopped on a plane. She was going to see Victoria.

She couldn't get Victoria's contact info from anyone around Alexander, but she managed to snag Frank's number from security.

She didn't plan to see Melissa first; their sisterly bond was long gone.

They weren't just sisters anymore; they were two women who had loved the same man. Melissa's husband died, and her son married the woman Melissa's son liked.

Even if she let go of her grudge against Melissa, Melissa had long shut her out.

Whatever.

Arabella wanted to see Victoria first, the young girl who, knowing she might die, still rushed to save Eloise alone.

She didn't get why Victoria thought her son would like Isabella.

They'd been married for years; how could they not know each other's feelings?

From start to finish, Alexander only loved Victoria.

But Arabella didn't find Victoria.

Victoria wasn't there.

Frank picked up her call, and Arabella asked, "Where you guys at?"

"Mrs. Harrington, we're out of town."

"When you coming back?"

"Not sure, but probably not for a month."

Frank replied.

Arabella hung up and told the driver to head to Melissa's place.

By the time she got to Melissa's, it was already dark. Arabella looked around. Melissa lived in a lakeside villa, barely any people around, no neighbors in sight.

Melissa didn't know Arabella was coming. When she saw her, Melissa was tidying up toys. Hearing footsteps, she turned around and slowly stood up, "What are you doing here?"

"Shouldn't I be asking when you snuck back? Didn't you say you were settling down in Ankenra City?"

Arabella said, walking towards her.

Melissa was holding a small mermaid plush toy. She instinctively hid it behind her, but quickly brought it back out, calmly explaining, "A friend's granddaughter often comes to play and left it here."

Arabella said nothing, just instinctively glanced at the sofa.

Quite a lot of that family's toys were left here.

Arabella's heart skipped a beat, and she suddenly had this wild, impulsive thought.

She might be a grandma.

"Has Victoria been living here for a long time?"

"What?"

"Melissa, you’ve never been good at lying."

Arabella sternly reminded her.

Melissa always felt immense pressure in front of Arabella and had to swallow her anger, "Yeah, she lives here with Adrian."

Arabella turned and stared at her, eyes full of disbelief, or rather, refusal to accept.

"You can ask Frank if you don't believe me. He used to live here, too."

Melissa, unwilling to accept Arabella's dominance, added.

"Adrian is Alexander's cousin, and Victoria is his wife!"

Arabella, trying to control her breath, still couldn't hide the anger in her voice.

"So what? Your son already divorced Victoria, didn't he?"

Melissa gently reminded.

Arabella suddenly couldn't speak. Exhausted from the day's events, she plopped down on the sofa, "You can at least spare a cup of coffee, right?"

Melissa glanced inside.

The maid quickly went to make coffee.

Later, they even had dinner together. Arabella, unable to understand, asked, "Why did it have to come to this? Just because you couldn't marry Maximus, you had to make your son marry my son's woman?"

"Arabella, do these external forces really matter so much in the face of true love? Can't they be genuinely in love?"

"True love? You..."

Arabella glanced towards the kitchen. Seeing a baby bottle, she suddenly stood up and walked inside.

Melissa instinctively followed her, then quickly caught up, "Arabella."

"Shut up."

Melissa really shut up. The bloodline suppression made her fall silent.

Moreover, she hadn't thought of what to say next.

How should she explain the baby bottle Arabella had picked up?

"Even the baby bottle of someone else's granddaughter is left at your house?"

"Yes."

Melissa lowered her eyes, not daring to look at her.

Arabella laughed, "We're twins. You know me as well as I know you, Melissa. Tell me, did Victoria not miscarry back then?"

"She was so badly injured, how could she not have miscarried?"

Melissa immediately replied.

Arabella didn't waste words, pulling out her phone and opening the photo album, "Someone saw you playing with a little girl in the city center recently."

After saying this, she showed the photo to Melissa.

Melissa felt a sudden pang of anxiety again. She had taken Strawberry out that day with that thought.

She wanted to be discovered.

The entanglement between those three had to end.

But at this moment, seeing the photo in her sister's hand, her breath became uneven.

"Victoria was found pregnant at the end of last November. If she didn't miscarry, the child should be almost four months old now?"

Arabella was truly shocked. She had become a grandmother. She really had.

"No, she didn't give birth. She was bedridden for months, how could she give birth to a child?"

Melissa's words were logical, but Arabella, having accepted that Victoria didn't miscarry, found it hard to believe she didn't give birth.

She knew that once a woman had a life inside her, especially one she valued more than her own, she would risk everything to give birth.

So...

That night, Arabella returned to Victoria's place with a locksmith.
