Chapter 552 Admitting to Trying to Conceive
When Victoria fought back hard, Alexander sighed in frustration. "You can kiss Adrian, but I can't kiss you?"
His voice dripped with jealousy.
Victoria shot back, "No, you can't."
She wanted to scrub off the kisses he'd given to other women.
"Let's see about that," Alexander said, pinning her against the wall. One hand cradled her back, and the other held her steady. When she refused to let him kiss her lips, he went for her neck instead.
Victoria was super sensitive there. After a few kisses, her neck was red, covered in his marks.
His tall frame seemed immune to her struggles. He could kiss her forever, keeping her trapped.
Then he carried her into the warm shower.
Victoria gasped as the water hit her, almost making her choke.
But he took the chance to kiss her lips and tongue.
She pushed against his jaw with all her might, but he didn't budge.
She could feel Alexander's breath getting ragged.
They'd known each other for so long and kissed so many times. She knew exactly what he wanted next.
But she still pushed him away. When he kissed her ear again, she gasped, tilting her head to avoid the water, and said, "I was preparing for a baby."
Alexander's kisses stopped, and the fire in his eyes dimmed. He looked at her, stunned.
She saw the darkness and restraint in his eyes, knowing he believed her. "Olivia didn't lie. I wanted a baby after our wedding."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Alexander's voice was strained.
"I wanted to surprise you," Victoria said, tears welling up. When she looked into his eyes, they finally spilled over.
Alexander stared at her, disbelieving.
She had to be messing with him again.
She always played the victim and then ran away.
He wouldn't let her win. "I don't believe you," he murmured.
"You were so good to me back then, I thought it was a dream," she said, tears streaming down her face.
Victoria was using his sympathy to make him stop.
But thinking about how sweet they were last year broke her heart.
How could he treat her like this?
Her crying made Alexander feel a bit shattered.
Because they really were good back then.
"Alexander, why were you so good to me? So good I thought you'd be faithful forever, that we'd have a cute baby, live happily as a family, just like your parents and grandparents," she said, her voice fragile and full of pain.
Alexander gently set her down.
At that moment, he felt he might have been wrong.
He shouldn't hate her.
Victoria's feet touched the ground, but she didn't let her guard down. She lowered her eyes, her hand moving from his shoulder to his chest, then falling away.
"I taught Janaye to take over my work because I thought I might get pregnant after the wedding. I wanted to focus on our family, to be with you and our baby, but..." She slid down the wall, squatting and hugging herself, crying, "How could you do this to me?"
"Victoria, I'm sorry." Alexander squatted in front of her, cradling the back of her head, letting her lean on his shoulder.
That "I'm sorry" was barely a whisper, but she heard it.
She knew he had softened.
He still felt compassion; he likely wouldn't force himself on her tonight.
Victoria started crying again, sobbing and complaining like a child, "Alexander, I hate you."
Alexander saw her tear-streaked face, her nose almost running, and wanted to wipe it for her, but she suddenly pushed him.
For the first time, he realized his balance was so poor that he fell to the ground under the shower.
He was stunned.
Victoria's tear-filled eyes suddenly sparkled with a smile.
He was both angry and amused. Was she really that happy to see him fall?
Maybe if he pretended to be dead, she'd be even happier?
This thought didn't last long. Alexander chuckled, then slowly lay on the ground, motionless.
Victoria looked at him in confusion. After almost a minute, she suddenly remembered a scene from a script and quickly crawled to his side. "Alexander, Alexander..."
The shower water flowed down her back, soaking her dress completely and revealing a hint of black underwear.
Alexander pretended to open his eyes weakly. The first thing he saw was that, but he didn't have time to appreciate it before looking up at her.
Victoria sighed in relief when she saw him open his eyes. "You scared me. What happened to you just now?"
Alexander was allergic to chili peppers. Maybe he had other conditions she didn't know about.
Alexander said nothing, just held the back of her head and pressed her against him.
Anyway, they were both wet.
Victoria was already kneeling on the ground, easily pressed into his arms.
She was so nervous calling him that her voice was hoarse, almost inaudible. "Are you okay?"
Alexander still said nothing, just held her, pressing her against him, while he lay on the cold ground, holding her tightly.
Victoria tried to look at him, but the water dripping from her hair blurred her vision, and he held her head, so she could only cling to him.
Soon, she felt his strong heartbeat.
That feeling was both familiar and strange, gradually driving her crazy.
When Victoria finally got up, he naturally let her go.
Victoria asked before getting up, "Do you need to go to the hospital?"
Alexander just looked at Victoria and laughed, saying nothing.
He thought pretending to be dead would make her happy.
But it didn't.
She was worried.
She said she was angry and that they could never be together again.
But she still got nervous and cared about him.
She still loved him.
When Alexander said, Victoria had just stood up, "Victoria, let's continue with the wedding."
Hearing that, Victoria thought she was hallucinating. She looked at Alexander lying on the ground and said indifferently, "I'm going to sleep in the guest room."
"I'll go." He suddenly sat up and quickly got up.
Victoria stood there, watching him walk out soaking wet, not looking back.
But before she could take off her clothes, the door suddenly opened.
Alexander burst in again, and she quickly covered her chest with her clothes. "What, what are you doing?"
Alexander said seriously, "Don't let Adrian kiss you again."
