Chapter 523 He Said, Love at First Sight

Isabella walked out of the studio; it was already dark, and the wind was cold and strong. She muttered, "After the storm, there will be sunshine."

She was confident that she was about to win Alexander over.

The master bedroom on the top floor of Regal Retreat in the next morning..

It was a deep and cold night.

Victoria lay on the cold floor, watching the panicked crowd around her.

She could no longer make a sound, just watching, feeling her life slipping away bit by bit.

She couldn't see anything clearly until those long legs strode towards her, but his steps grew slower and then stopped.

She could no longer see him.

"Alex..." As she want to call him, he walked away.

She got up, then quickly sat up, gasping for breath.

She looked at the empty spot on the bed and immediately got out of bed.

"Alexander, Alexander!" Victoria kept calling Alexander, searched the entire room but didn't see him, and then immediately ran outside, not even bothering to put on slippers.

On a December morning, Victoria frantically searched for Alexander, all because of a dream.

Victoria entered the dining room and then slowly stopped.

Alexander was as usual, wearing a clean white shirt. He stood by the stove and made breakfast.

He turned around, about to call Victoria for breakfast, but seeing her anxious look, he instinctively lowered his eyes. After seeing her bare feet, he furrowed his brows and walked towards her quickly.

Victoria stared at Alexander as he walked towards her, not moving her gaze even when he picked her up.

Alexander placed her on the dining table, opened her knees to get closer to her, and gently cupped her face to ask, "What’s wrong?"

Victoria suddenly didn't dare to ask him anymore.

She just tightly hugged his firm, narrow waist, pressing against his chest, listening to his heartbeat, and only then did her restless heart slowly calm down.

She suddenly realized she had been too careless in the past few days, like a child demanding too much.

She hugged him tighter, unable to say anything more.

She hoped their relationship would last longer.

Alexander held her, looking down at her and softly asked, "Had a nightmare?"

Victoria still didn't speak, just hugged him tighter.

She was afraid the dream would become reality.

They were about to get married, and he was so good to her. What was she still worried about?

Both of their parents were deeply in love, and even Alexander's grandparents had been together for over sixty years. Neither family had a history of divorce, and their relationships were so long-lasting.

They had chosen each other and would definitely grow old together.

Victoria looked up at Alexander and said, "I want to ask you something."

She remembered more than two years ago when they first met.

Alexander said calmly, "Just go ahead."

"Back then, I came back for Eloise's birthday. What was your first impression of me?"

Victoria had wanted to know that for a long time.

She didn't want to keep wondering. They were about to get married. She needed to know if that day, it was just her who felt something.

"There's something you might not know," Alexander suddenly mentioned, gently brushing away the tear stains at the corner of her eye.

"What?" Victoria looked at him curiously.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she hoped he would give her a definite answer.

Alexander said gently, "When I was very young, my mom said I should marry you."

He bent down, feeling her cold ankle, immediately grabbed her ankle, sat in the chair, and placed her foot on his lap.

Victoria was stunned for a moment, wanting to move away but was pressed against his warm and firm abdomen.

She felt a surge of emotion but was still curious about how his words related to her question.

Then Alexander said softly, "I was moved."

Victoria stared at him blankly, her mind suddenly too dizzy to think.

Alexander looked up at her, patiently saying, "That night we spent some time alone at my grandmother's birthday, I thought marrying you wouldn't be bad."

"Really?" Victoria found it hard to believe.

"Yes." Alexander agreed.

"Then why did you leave after we got the marriage certificate?"

It seemed like this matter, which had been troubling her for what felt like hundreds of years, was finally about to be resolved.

"Because you seemed very unhappy," Alexander explained.

"What?" Victoria was stunned.

"Do you remember when my mom called the Sterling Family and got their refusal to marry you? You looked very disappointed at that time."

Victoria thought about her state at that time and seriously said to him, "At that time, my parents had just passed away not long ago. What other expression did you expect from me?"

At that time, Victoria couldn't smile no matter what.

She was like a glass bottle waiting to be repaired, full of cracks.

Alexander looked at her tearful eyes, unable to speak for a moment.

She was right. He misunderstood.

He thought she was unhappy because the Sterling Family didn't want her.

He thought she wanted to be Jason's fiancée and had already considered Jason her future husband.

Alexander softly said, "We will be fine in the future, I promise."

Victoria quietly watched him warming her feet, then smiled. "Of course."

They didn't know each other well back then, so misunderstandings were understandable.

Alexander said gently, "Don't run out barefoot again, okay?"

Victoria muttered, "I thought you left."

She was so afraid that one day she would wake up and find that what she had now was just a dream.

Alexander said, "I would tell you if I were leaving, remember?"

"Yeah."

Victoria's heart gradually warmed up again.

She felt Alexander was so good to her.

With the wedding approaching, major media outlets were competing to publish details about their wedding, such as how much it cost and how many celebrities were invited. But no media had the details of their wedding, except VicLiv.

There was a clear and formal photo of their wedding scene on VicLiv's website.

The day after tomorrow, Victoria and Alexander would be getting married.

Victoria went to work as usual, then was picked up by Mark to go for a beauty treatment.

On the way to the beauty salon after work, Victoria said to Mark, "Mark, do you know Alexander just gave me a luxury car?"

Mark replied, "Yes, I know."

"But you pick me up every day, so I don't get to use that car."

"Mrs. Harrington, you're about to get married. You should take it easy these days. After the wedding, you can rest and then drive it around," Mark said to her with a smile.

Victoria thought he made sense and didn't say anything more.

But she didn't expect to see a familiar face inside.

When Victoria was led inside by the staff, Isabella happened to come out, and they faced each other.

Isabella smiled and said, "Mrs. Harrington, why are you here for a beauty treatment alone? Isn't Alexander with you?"

Victoria didn't want to deal with Isabella and said to the staff, "Please take me inside."

Isabella smirked. "What? Afraid to even talk to me?"

Victoria thought the best way to get back at someone was to ignore them.

The more she engaged, the more she got excited.

Wasting time on such a person was not worth it.

That night, back at Regal Retreat, Alexander sent a message saying he would be back late and told Victoria to go to bed first.

Victoria waited until after midnight, afraid to disturb Alexander, so she didn't send another message. When she woke up, it was already the next morning.

There was a bouquet of roses on the bed, with a card next to it, reading "Good morning."
