Chapter 981 Only Victoria Can Sign on My Behalf

"Isn't it suitable for a man to be in a girl's room so early in the morning?"

In Diana's apartment.

After Curtis left, Arabella questioned Diana.

Diana lowered her head. "Mom, it's the modern age."

"Is it really about the age? I caught you two, and I can't say anything?"

Diana looked up at the stern Arabella, then suddenly grinned cheekily, sat next to Arabella, and sweetly said, "I know, I won't let him come in the morning again."

"As long as you know."

Arabella's words were sharp, but she thought to herself that Curtis seemed decent enough.

But looking at Diana, Arabella scrutinized her seriously; she didn't want Diana to suffer even a bit.

At least, the grievances Victoria suffered in their family, she wouldn't let Diana go through the same.

It was said that Curtis's family background was clean, with no messy troubles, and he was an only child.

Diana, still a bit groggy, couldn't help but be suspicious after hearing Arabella's words. She leaned on her shoulder and asked, "Mom, are you worried this will ruin my reputation?"

"You know it could ruin your reputation? But that's not what I'm worried about."

"Then what are you worried about?"

"I'm worried you won't find a good man."

Arabella looked at Diana, full of tenderness, afraid Diana would get hurt.

Diana had been pampered since childhood, never suffering any grievances.

If Victoria ended up like this because her parents died early, it would be even more tragic if Diana, with all her elders around, faced the same fate. Arabella held Diana's hand and said, "We need to see what kind of person he is. Don't rush into anything, understand?"

"Yeah."

Rushing wouldn't help anyway.

Diana thought to herself.

Was Curtis interested in her and wanted to reconcile, or was he just being kind and wanted to help?

After all, Curtis was really kind.

Diana felt a bit disappointed in herself, thinking that she had planned to do something significant last night, maybe even find Victoria, but ended up doing nothing and just sleeping.

"I wonder how Victoria is doing."

Diana murmured on Arabella's shoulder.

"We hope she's safe!"

But everything was uncertain.

Arabella, being older, saw things from a different perspective. She hoped Victoria was alive, but had a bad feeling that poor Victoria might already be gone.

Otherwise, they should have some news about Victoria by now.

People usually kidnapped others for money. If not for money, it was often for murder.

Someone said they saw Victoria in that place, maybe that person probably just wanted to make some money.

Later, Arabella left Diana's apartment, intending to see Alexander, but thinking that Alexander was focused on finding Victoria, she went back home.

Searching for Victoria was a hope for Alexander.

When people were in utter despair, suddenly getting hope was nothing short of a miracle.

Diana's doorbell rang again. She ran to open the door and saw Curtis smiling. "What do you want?"

"I made breakfast."

"But I'm not hungry yet."

"Alright, but when you're starving, don't expect me to make more."

He spoke calmly, then turned and walked back to his room slowly.

Diana found him quite annoying.

But she followed him. The table was filled with her favorite foods, so she sat down.

Curtis stood by the table, watching her.

She was in her nightgown, sitting at his table, eating the breakfast he prepared.

Diana ate contentedly and then looked up, "Why are you standing there? Acting as my servant?"

"Your family shouldn't lack servants, right?"

He pulled out a chair and sat down, asking slowly.

Diana thought about how he broke up with her because of her family, then lowered her head to eat.

She didn't want to discuss it, afraid of scaring him.

Their house was too big and needed many people.

"Your mother..."

"What?"

Diana snapped back to reality, looking up to see him stop talking.

What did he want to ask about Arabella?

"Did she scare you? My mom is straightforward, her words are sharp, but she's very soft-hearted."

"I understand, let's eat."

Curtis agreed and started eating breakfast.

Diana feared he might be scared by Arabella. Many people said Arabella looked serious, but they didn't dare to call her fierce. As Arabella's daughter, Diana understood her well. Arabella was just open-minded about everything, giving an impression of being unfeeling, but she was really kind and generous.

After breakfast, Diana went to Alexander's office, not expecting him to be absent.

"Where's Alexander?"

She asked Graham.

"Ms. Harrington, I'm looking for him too. There are two urgent documents needing his signature, but I can't reach him by phone."

Graham held the documents, looking a bit helpless.

Diana thought for a moment, "Does Alexander know about these documents?"

"Yes, everything is done according to his instructions, only his signature is missing."

"Call him again. If you still can't reach him, I'll sign."

Diana thought, if everything was clear, it wouldn't matter if she signed.

This was a last resort; otherwise, she wouldn't sign.

"Are you planning to work here? If so, you can sign."

As soon as she finished speaking, someone walked out of the elevator towards her.

"Alexander."

Seeing Alexander, Diana's eyes filled with tears.

Alexander strode towards the office.

Graham and Diana immediately followed.

Alexander's sudden appearance made Graham sigh in relief, but Diana only thought about why Alexander had suddenly appeared.

Alexander definitely had no news about Victoria, judging by his expression.

"Alexander, were you at that underground club last night? How could you drug me out? Alexander..."

"Can you let me finish signing these documents first?"

Alexander stopped at his desk, turned, and looked at Diana.

Diana immediately quieted down, waiting for Alexander to finish his work.

He seriously and quickly reviewed the documents, then signed them. Before Graham left, he reminded him again, "Documents needing my signature cannot be signed by anyone else."

"Yes."

"Unless..."

Hearing this, Graham and Diana looked at Alexander seriously.

"You can go now."

"Yes."

Graham left.

Diana couldn't help but ask, "Alexander, did you mean unless it's Victoria?"

Alexander turned his eyes, his gaze was moist, carrying both tenderness and loss.
