Chapter 585 Resting for Pregnancy

Isabella shouted and ran away.

——

In a dimly lit bedroom, Victoria whispered, "Did you hear any screams?"

"What?" Alexander, in a hoarse voice, quickly buried his face in her neck again. "Baby, did you finally hear my inner call?"

Victoria shook her head. "No."

"Baby."

"Shut up."

"Baby."

"Go sleep on the couch. My head hurts."

"Victoria, I want you."

"My head is killing me. Can you shut up? Please?"

Alexander shut up.

Although she had used this excuse many times since her head injury to threaten him, he still held his tongue.

Both had a good night's sleep.

——

The next morning, when they went downstairs, Arabella called out to Victoria, "Victoria, come here. I bought you something nice. Try it on and see if it fits."

"Good morning, Mom. What is it?" Victoria quickly ran over.

"A hat. It's getting cold. It can preventyour wound from being exposed to coldness." Arabella carefully took out the white hat and gently put it on her.

"Looks nice." Arabella thought Victoria looked quite pretty with the hat, even more well-behaved.

"Thanks, Mom." Victoria was so touched that she almost cried.

"You are welcome, sweetheart." Arabella patted her cheek and then asked Alexander, who was walking over, "How do you like the hat I bought for Victoria?"

"It might look better in a different color." Alexander glanced at it, pretending not to like it.

"What color do you like? Something dazzlingly colorful?" Arabella rolled her eyes at him, displeased.

Victoria looked at Alexander in confusion, then turned to Arabella. "Mom, can you get me a colorful one?"

"No way." Alexander immediately commanded.

Victoria pouted at him, and as soon as he walked away, she whispered, "Mom, I like colorful ones. They’re lively."

Arabella whispered, "Alright, they're eye-catching and will annoy him, killing two birds with one stone."

"Exactly." Victoria was even happier.

Alexander sat down on the couch. Brett came out and asked, "Did you leave Isabella waiting outside last night?"

Alexander raised his eyes, then remembered and replied, "Yes."Arabella and Victoria were right behind, so they naturally heard and couldn't pretend they didn't. Arabella had to ask, "What's wrong with Isabella?"

"She was outside all night. Didn’t you know?" Alexander asked calmly.

Victoria and Arabella sat together. Victoria adjusted her hat, pretending not to hear.

She had asked him last night if he heard a woman's scream, and he denied it. He must have known it was Isabella, right?

Victoria thought this but, mindful of the elders’ presence, shedidn't ask further.

"Isabella is really persistent. I told you not to mess with her. Can't you avoid her when you see her outside?" Arabella complained.

"How could I avoid her when she was at the door? Should I not come home?" Alexander retorted to her.

Not coming home was not an option, unless Victoria wasn't home.

However, he still wanted to move back to their own house with Victoria once she recovered more, maybe after the wedding.

He hoped they could move into their new home right after the wedding and live a life for just the two of them.

Victoria didn't know what he was thinking. As they walked to the dining room, she quietly pulled him aside and whispered, "I have to go to the set today."

"So?" Alexander asked.

Victoria said, "Tell Grandma you want to take me out for a walk."

Hearing her words, Alexander stopped, glaring at her unhappily.

"Please," Victoria said submissively.

"How do you plan to beg?"

"Anyway, I'm not helping you relieve your desires with my hand."

Alexander's face turned red with frustration, but he couldn't help but laugh, then put his arm around her shoulder. "Then owe me a favor?"

"Does it have to be this way?"

"Yes."

"Fine," Victoria agreed.

Alexander couldn't help but look at her a few more times. A simple hat on her head made her look extraordinary. She seemed to have the ability to make all ordinary things look special.

"Why are you staring at me?" Victoria asked him, puzzled.

"Today's Victoria is especially gentle." He gently pressed the top of her hat, his voice warm.

"Are you trying to sweet-talk me again?" Victoria asked calmly, suppressing her excitement.

Alexander was puzzled for a moment, then just smiled faintly and turned to walk to the dining room.

He must be trying to sweet-talk her.

After breakfast, Alexander used the excuse of taking her out for a walk to drop her off at the set.

But this day was different from usual.

——

At the film base, outside the set, a black van slowly stopped at the entrance, and a burly man buttoned his suit jacket and stepped out with an air of authority. His face was expressionless, cold and stern.

Before the actors gathered around, he had already walked to the other side and opened the car door like a gentleman.

A girl stepped out of the car in high heels, her slender ankle appearing first.

Everyone curiously looked inside.

It was Felicity.

Frank offered his arm to her, and as she held onto it and walked out, she politely thanked him, "Thank you, Frank."

Frank rarely smiled, then returned to his cold demeanor.

Nicole and Adrian came out and saw the scene.

Victoria looked like a noble princess visiting the set, not an actress.

She adorned herself in a blue velvet dress, complemented by a white shawl and a white beret. With her graceful figure and captivating appearance, she exuded an aura of beauty, enhanced by her clear and gentle eyes.

Victoria didn't look like someone who had been kidnapped and injured but rather someone who had been reborn.

Two BMWs followed behind, and Mason led people out, each carrying expensive boxes.

Mason walked up to Victoria and said to everyone, "Mrs. Harrington has been under the weather recently, so please take care of her. These are gifts from her for everyone."

After Mason finished speaking, the attendants moved all the items inside.

Everyone stood aside, making way, and some couldn't resist the curiosity to check out the gifts, while Nicole and Adrian remained at the entrance.

Adrian suddenly smiled.

Although his smile was tinged with bitterness, she looked quite good, as if she was well-protected.

Victoria walked forward in her beautiful high heels, and Nicole looked her up and down, "You weren't kidnapped; you were probably resting for your pregnancy, right?"

"What?" Victoria asked, puzzled.

She really didn't hear clearly and couldn't believe it.

"Definitely resting for pregnancy."
