Chapter 445 His Wife Dislikes His Age
But it was Isabella who hurt her first.
Later that evening, around nine, Victoria was having dinner with her friends when a server brought over some dishes and wine.
Everyone looked at the staff in unison.
"Mrs. Harrington, Mr. Harrington knows you're here entertaining friends, so he specifically asked us to bring some Ankenra City specialties and fine wine," the staff explained.
"Thank you." Victoria nodded.
Did Alexander know again?
"Is her husband here too?" Jason immediately asked curiously.
"He's entertaining guests upstairs. He said if he gets a chance, he'll come down to greet everyone."
Victoria couldn't help but say immediately, "Tell him he doesn't need to come."
Jason reminded her, "Hey, don't be rude."
"Mr. Harrington can come by once he's free. We're planning to stay and chat for a while," Jason added.
"Alright." The staff was about to leave when a voice came through his earpiece, so he had to return. "Mrs. Harrington, Mr. Harrington asks me to remind you that you can drink a bit more tonight."
Victoria thought Mr. Harrington knew how to persuade people not to drink too much.
Jason, however, stared at Victoria, thinking she was acting a bit strange.
It wasn't until after ten that Alexander finally came down from upstairs.
Alexander, dressed in a sharp suit, looked every bit the successful man. He walked to Victoria's side, slightly leaned over, and shook hands with her friends. He even asked, "How is the food? Does it suit your tastes?"
"Absolutely fantastic."
Everyone was enthusiastic.
Alexander smiled, then looked down at Victoria. "She hasn't had too much to drink tonight, has she?"
"No, Victoria can't hold her liquor well. She never drinks too much," Jason said, holding Victoria's shoulder.
Alexander frowned at the spot where Victoria was being held.
Realizing his mistake, Jason quickly withdrew his hand and smiled ingratiatingly, "Mr. Harrington, rest assured, Victoria and I are just friends."
"Of course, I can't be at ease. She's so outstanding," Alexander said, glancing at her again, and placed his hand on her shoulder, gently squeezing.
"Have you all checked in? We will cover all expenses for your stay in Ankenra City. Make sure to take good care of Victoria's friends," Alexander quickly and thoughtfully instructed the staff.
"Yes," the staff agreed.
After chatting with them for a bit, Alexander took Victoria away.
Victoria carried her bag, standing in front the whole time, unwilling to pay him any attention.
Alexander walked a few steps ahead.
Victoria moved forward, and Alexander continued to move ahead.
Then, her small frame was about to press against the row of numbers in front, and Victoria finally stopped.
Alexander leaned slightly to her ear and whispered, "Why do you stop?"
Victoria was angry and just ignored him.
At work, he was the boss, her superior, and she had to be diligent. But now that work was over, why should she still pay attention to him?
"You laugh and joke with your friends while you have nothing to say with me?" Alexander asked.
"Of course. My friends and I are the same age. But you're much older," she replied casually.
Alexander frowned, feeling infuriated.
When the elevator opened, Victoria walked out while Alexander stayed inside, waiting for the doors to close without stepping out.
Alexander was so angry he felt like he could spit blood.
His wife thought he was too old.
After the elevator doors closed, they quickly opened again. He suppressed his emotions, put his hands on his hips, and walked out.
Victoria didn't even have a chance to hail a cab. As soon as she stepped out, the staff had already parked the car. "Mrs. Harrington, please."
"I don't need the hotel's car," she declared, not feeling like a noblewoman but rather a puppet.
Alexander quickly strode out with his long legs. The autumn wind blew against him, making his expression even more stern.
"Mr. Harrington," the staff greeted him.
Alexander nodded, then immediately grabbed her arm and pushed her inside.
"Hey." Victoria almost stumbled inside. She turned around, holding onto the seat, but the tall man had already entered, so she had to sit to the side, clutching her bag.
Once Alexander was inside, the driver started the car. Only then did he slowly glance at her and smile.
Just a moment ago, Victoria was complaining about his age, and now she was like a frightened little rabbit, not daring to make a sound.
"Regal Retreat," Alexander calmly instructed the driver, then turned around.
Victoria instinctively looked at him, only to lose sight of him the next moment.
Alexander moved so quickly. When realizing it, Victoria was already sitting on his long legs.
