Chapter 45 Miss Kensington, Please Behave Yourself

Buying lychees for Isabella?
Victoria looked at the dark wall panel on the other side. Her mind was a whirlwind of emotions; she felt an inexplicable sense of restlessness creeping in to her soul.
"Victoria?" Alexander noticed her distraction and called her name.
"Hmm?" Victoria turned to look at him and quickly responded, "Oh, I remembered."
"Are you going to work in that outfit?" Alexander asked her again.
"Well, you need to leave. How can I change my outfit if you don't leave?"
"I told you we are..." Alexander began, but Victoria cut him off.
"We are not; we're not even a couple in name only. You've betrayed our marriage and chosen the girl you grew up with."
"We'll talk about Isabella later."
"No need for later; I'm very clear about it. I've said that I bless you two’s future together, and please, Mr. Harrington, proceed with the divorce as soon as possible. It's better for you, for me, and for Miss Montgomery."
She lowered her head, but she was very straightforward. She felt that there was no need for them to drag this on.
They could hide it from their elders, just like when they signed the divorce papers.
"Victoria, why did you marry me in the first place?" Alexander suddenly asked. Victoria looked at him in surprise. He just gave her a cold glance, then got up in annoyance and walked to the nearby sofa. He sat down, or rather, lay down.
Everyone knew she loved him, only he pretended not to know.
It seemed like he was asleep. Victoria was a bit worried. She called someone to bring fever medicine while taking her clothes to change. The door of the office was knocked on. She had already changed her clothes and walked over.
Alexander’s assistant said, "Miss Kensington, here's the fever medicine you asked for."
"Please bring it to him and make sure he takes it."
"Ah? You should go, I'm not suitable." His assistant was terrified.
"Jasmine, please help me."
"But... but... I can't." The girl stuffed the fever medicine into her arms and ran away.
Just as Victoria was about to bring the medicine in again, the elevator door suddenly opened. "Is Alex in there?"
"Yes." Isabella still strode up to her. Her gaze seemed like she wanted to eat her, but she quickly lowered her eyes, took the medicine from her hand, and said, "I'll take care of him. Miss Kensington, please behave yourself."
Victoria remained silent; she felt too exhausted to speak. She didn't think she was behaving improperly. In fact, she felt that there was someone else who was not behaving himself, but she wouldn't say it. It was too late to say anything now. But it was good that Isabella came. This way, she wouldn't have to face that man anymore...
Didn't he know he was extremely tempting? Even now, when he had cheated on her and gotten another woman pregnant, she was still uncontrollably attracted to him when she saw him. When he kissed her... she unconsciously moved her lips, which then felt sore. She suddenly understood why Isabella's gaze at her had been murderous. Isabella must have noticed her unsightly lips.
Victoria casually walked back to her seat from the door, still listless when she sat down.
"Please bring a cup of water in." The internal line in the office rang soon after. Both Victoria and Jasmine looked at the phone.
"There's no need to trouble Miss Kensington." Isabella spoke again. Victoria knew that Isabella didn't want her to have any further contact with Alexander. That was fine. Maybe tomorrow, Isabella would persuade Alexander to fire her.
