Chapter 133 Oh No, a Car Accident
En route to the towering office building, the car came to an abrupt, jarring halt.
Victoria, taken aback, watched as Alexander unfastened his seatbelt with a swift click and exited the car. Her eyes, filled with curiosity, trailed his movements until the rear door swung open with a creak. A gust of warm air rushed in, and then...
There he was. Alexander leaned in, his hand closing around her wrist, his arm draping over her shoulders. "Get out," he commanded.
Bewildered and compliant, Victoria stepped out of the car.
"What's going on?" she inquired, her voice laced with confusion.
Alexander remained silent, his hand firm on her shoulder as he guided her towards the front seat. As she realized his intent to usher her into the car, she braced her hands against the door, her voice firm, "I don't want to."
"Get in," he insisted.
His gaze, amused yet determined, bore into her stubborn defiance, yet remained serious.
"I don't want to. I told you I won't sit..."
Her protest was abruptly cut off as she was swiftly ushered inside.
Alexander followed suit, securing her seatbelt while speaking, "So, the hand that another man has touched, should I find that repulsive too?"
Victoria froze, the memory of the other man's touch wiped clean from her mind.
"Sit tight, and don't give me a reason to slap you."
The threat hung in the air, causing Victoria's face to flush with fear as she sat, frozen in place.
Yet Alexander remained unconvinced, adding, "You know you can't outrun me. You might think to dash out while I'm turned away, but I could catch you in half a minute, and then..."
His voice trailed off deliberately, his face inching closer.
Victoria yearned to hide, but found no escape. The only space available was above, so she tilted her head upwards.
And then...
Alexander planted a soft kiss on her chin before gently grasping her jaw and pressing his lips against hers with a deliberate intensity.
"Afterward, I will claim my rights as your husband in the car."
He shifted, cradling half of her face, and pressed a firm kiss on her forehead.
Victoria winced, her eyes squeezed shut, and she bit her lip hard in silence.
There was a peculiar taste on his lips, which caused her own to relax almost instantly.
Alexander exited the car, and as he walked around, she quickly unbuckled her seatbelt.
However, Alexander, opening the driver's side door, quickly took hold of her in a mix of disappointment and resignation, and then with a touch of heartache, told her, "Can’t you tell this is a new car?"
A new car?
"As a wife and serving as a secretary, you should have noticed your man got a new car. Start reflecting on it."
She needed to reflect?
With his vast collection of cars, how could she possibly keep track?
Moreover, why should she know so much about him?
Victoria felt wronged, but the knowledge that no one else had ridden in the new car made it somewhat less awkward.
"Grandma was about to agree," Victoria voiced.
"Are you sure?"
Alexander glanced at her in the rearview mirror, her pouting lips stirring a warmth in his heart.
'Oh, this woman, always has ways to vex him,' Alexander mused.
"Yes," Victoria responded.
'If only he and Adrian hadn't interfered. Why did Adrian suddenly say those things? And he…' Victoria pondered in her heart.
"Haven't you two made up yet?"
She turned to look at him, her question catching him off guard.
Alexander couldn't help but smile, then gave her a serious look. "Come to my office after signing the contract, let’s discuss this further."
'Discuss this further? Is he finally ready to have that conversation with her?' Victoria wondered.
Victoria felt a wave of relief wash over her. "Okay."
Alexander glanced at her again, noting her distracted demeanor, and quickly took her hand in his while the car was stopped at a red light.
Victoria froze, then after two seconds, she forcefully pulled and twisted away.
Alexander burst into laughter, teasing her while driving, "Whoa, whoa, whoa, we're about to have an accident."
