Chapter 453 Shameless

Victoria thought to herself, "Victoria, you're really good at deceiving yourself."

After an unknown amount of time, the quiet hospital room was filled with sound again.

If she was just Alexander 's secretary, why did she have to be here?

She could have easily notified his family or friends.

"I don't understand what you're saying," Victoria turned to say softly.

She felt guilty but couldn't reveal the truth.

Should she tell him that she was scared when seeing his face flush all the way to his neck?

When Alexander struggled to get out of the car at the hospital entrance, it felt like she was falling into an abyss.

Seeing the medical staff rush him in, the man who always looked down at her now lying there helplessly, she could only try to keep up, afraid of losing him.

Just like she couldn't save her parents' lives back then.

She couldn't lose him, too.

She unconsciously fiddled with her ring, wanting to say something but ultimately keeping her composure.

Between them, such passionate confessions were inappropriate.

Especially after that night when he cautiously expressed his desire to spend the rest of his life with her, she became even more careful, afraid of ruining the little bit of happiness they seemed to have finally found.

"Alexander," in the quiet space, a voice suddenly broke the silence.

When Isabella gently knocked on the door, they both knew who she was.

Isabella, who had been in a coma for a long time, suddenly woke up, standing at their hospital room door.

Victoria opened the door and saw Isabella, dressed in striped hospital clothes, looking very pale and as if she might collapse at any moment.

Isabella saw Victoria's horror, saying softly, "I'm here to see a friend."

Victoria said nothing and stepped aside.

Isabella, supported by her mother, walked into the room.

Alexander had his back to the door, eyes closed.

Even as Isabella approached, Alexander didn't want to respond, but...

"I hear you are hospitalized. I was really worried, you know?" Isabella stood by the bed, speaking.

Seeing no reaction from him, Isabella seemed both worried and had ulterior motives.

Isabella slowly sat on the edge of his bed, feeling a forbidden thrill, but still softly said, "Luckily, it's just an allergy. Otherwise, what would I do?"

Isabella began to cry, looking very pitiful.

Victoria stood by silently, never quite understanding the relationship between Isabella and Alexander.

She knew Isabella always tried to get close to Alexander.

Sometimes Alexander seemed to dislike Isabella, but other times he allowed her to act out and kept covering for her.

'Is this what they call a love-hate relationship?' As Victoria was lost in thought, she suddenly heard Naomi's voice.

Naomi said, "Isabella hasn't been out of bed for days, but when she heard you were sick, she rushed over without a second thought. Alexander, Alexander?"

Alexander suddenly got out of bed.

Although his allergy symptoms had eased, he was still short of breath, and his throat itched when he got anxious.

But he stood up anyway.

Victoria was stunned and instinctively reminded him, "Raise your hand."

Alexander glanced at Victoria, seeing Victoria's stern expression. He immediately raised his hand, even though he was not looking at his hand, and stared at Isabella. "Get out."

"What?" Isabella looked at him with tearful eyes.

"I said, get out,"

Alexander struggled to say, gasping for breath.

"Alexander, you..." Isabella was stunned.

"Alexander, my daughter is very worried about you, and you talk to her like this?" Naomi said.

"She's sitting on a married man's bed. Why are you so justified in doing this?" Victoria retorted.
