Chapter 86 She Could Meet Him Everywhere
His voice wasn't particularly loud, but it left Victoria's heart trembling.
Unwilling to confront his mocking expression, she turned to Jasmine and called out, "Jasmine, let's leave."
"Sure." Jasmine hastened forward.
As he watched Jasmine walk away, Alexander couldn't help but smile even wider.
A singles social event? Hah. Mrs. Harrington certainly had some clout.
The singles social event took place at the Harrington Hotel because their management got discounts there.
Of course, Victoria knew she was just there to kill time and avoid that person.
She greeted the lady hosting the event and then sat with Jasmine on one side.
Seven women were facing seven men.
But for some reason, everyone seemed surprised to see her.
Alexander, Edward, and Benjamin were about to head to the club when they heard that Miss Kensington was attending an event at the hotel, so the three of them stopped by their private room to see what was going on.
It looked like some drama was about to unfold.
"If you really care, get her something," Edward reminded.
Alexander looked at him in confusion.
What was he talking about?
He would educate that woman when they got home.
"A ring?" Benjamin responded to Edward.
Edward chuckled in response.
A ring?
It was then that Alexander realized they hadn't bought wedding rings.
Indeed, if she had been wearing a ring, those fools might not have thought she was still a single girl.
Was she easy to pursue?
Why were those lads staring at her? There were so many other women around.
The hotel staff were still serving food when three tall gentlemen entered the hall.
Suddenly, some people noticed them and immediately stood up.
More people saw them, and then everyone stood up.
Except Victoria.
Victoria silently raised her glass and took a sip.
How was it that she could meet him everywhere?
Yet Alexander didn't even acknowledge her. He strode past them with his long legs, quickly leaving Victoria’s sight.
"You guys carry on, Vicky."
Edward greeted Victoria.
"Does Edward like Victoria too?" Someone curiously asked.
"A girl as pretty as Victoria would, of course, have many boys after her. Looks like we don't stand a chance." Another person replied.
Victoria didn’t say anything. She just politely smiled.
It was rumored that Edward also had a childhood sweetheart his heart was set on.
These rich men seemed to be quite sentimental, only liking people they had grown up with.
But that girl was studying abroad now, so he was usually alone.
--
In the best private room of the hotel, Alexander finally let down his guard.
Once the door closed, his face completely fell.
Noticing that Alexander was upset, Edward and Benjamin wanted to ask him what he was thinking exactly, but before they could speak, Alexander’s phone rang.
Alexander irritably picked up the phone and glanced at it.
When he saw it was Isabella calling, he became even more frustrated.
What was he expecting?
Why did seeing Isabella's name make him think of someone else?
Victoria...
But she would never call him after work?
In her eyes...
What did she call him again?
Oh, right... Hypocrite.
Hah!
And her?
Didn't she know she was married? Wasn't she the one who went to a singles social event?
Damn it!
What was so appealing about those brats?
Alexander declined the call and tossed his phone aside.
Benjamin furrowed his brow at the sight, and soon, his phone rang too.
Seeing it was Isabella, Benjamin glanced at Alexander before answering, "Hello? Isabella, yes, Alexander is with us. Just having a few drinks before heading back, yeah."
