Chapter 1020 But I Am Not Your Teacher

"Tori? Tori?"

Alexander called out softly, his voice tinged with worry.

She snapped back to reality, feeling someone gripping her shoulders, and instinctively started to struggle.

"It's me, Tori, it's me."

Alexander pulled her into his arms, trying to reassure her.

Victoria realized where she was, but the tears wouldn't stop.

The memories were terrifying, and she could still feel the phantom pain.

But now, her body was warm, and she was safe.

"It's okay, it's okay."

He gently rubbed her back, soothing her over and over.

Victoria told herself it was all in the past, then reached out and hugged him tightly around the waist.

She wanted to stay here forever, greedily thinking she never wanted to go back to that place where she was hurt so badly.

She trembled, holding him with all her strength until she gradually felt better.

Alexander looked down at her, then quietly held her, waiting for her to calm down.

Evening, The Harrington Mansion.

Arabella was on the phone with Eloise, saying, "Diana must be chasing after Cuetis again. I need to call Alexander and ask. He knows everything about her."

"Go ahead and call him."

Eloise was also worried about Diana.

Arabella dialed the number and asked directly, "Is Diana seeing Curtis again?"

"Not sure."

Alexander frowned.

"Then why did she move back there?"

"She's not a child anymore, you don't need to worry."

"Exactly because she's not a child, I worry. She's a grown woman and should know better."

Alexander scratched his head, unsure of what to say.

"Are you hiding something from me? Do you think I look down on that guy? If I cared so much about social status, would I have let you marry Victoria?"

Arabella hung up and turned to Eloise, "He says he doesn't know. I think they both see me as some kind of villain."

"Don't think that way. Maybe Alexander doesn't know. He's focused on Victoria right now, not Didi. How about..."

"Do you have an idea?"

Arabella asked, noticing Eloise hesitating.

"It's just the two of us here, nothing else to do. Why don't we go surprise them?"

Eloise wanted to sit down and talk with Curtis.

She had seen him teach at school and thought he seemed nice, but couldn't understand why he was playing with Diana's feelings.

The two women agreed and immediately called Felix to prepare the car.

Diana was working from home when she heard the doorbell.

She grabbed a nearby scarf and went to answer.

"There's a gathering at home, want to join?" Curtis asked.

"Is it appropriate?"

Diana heard the noise from inside, likely his students.

"It's fine." He said.

"I'd rather not. I have work to finish."

Diana felt conflicted, not entirely unwilling but afraid of running into someone she shouldn't.

"Have you had dinner?"

"No."

"Work can wait. Eat first, it won't take long."

Diana looked at him with her sharp eyes, trying to figure out his intentions.

Why was he insisting she join him for dinner?

"They're just students," he added.

Diana didn't want to go, but seeing the watch she had given him on his wrist, she bit her lip and nodded after a few seconds. "Is there food I like?"

"If not, I wouldn't have invited you," Curtis replied.

Diana nodded. "I'll eat and leave. I hope it won't cause any misunderstandings with your students."

Curtis didn't respond, just stared at her.

Diana felt awkward under his gaze and walked out, asking, "Is it okay for me to go like this?"

"The room is warm."

"Alright."

She went inside, wearing a shirt dress.

As soon as she entered, the lively noise stopped, but quickly resumed with greetings, "Hello, Ms. Harrington."

She turned to see Curtis behind her and then greeted them.

"Dinner's ready, everyone wash your hands," Curtis said, and his students put down their cards and went to wash up.

"I'll go too."

"Wash in the kitchen. And help bring the dishes."

"Okay."

Diana felt oddly happy.

She helped bring the dishes to the table, serving his students.

It felt like they were a couple.

A couple?

No way!

Diana scolded herself for wishful thinking, washed her hands, and took the napkin he handed her, saying, "Thank you."

"No need to be so polite."

"Why didn't you invite Juliette?"

"What?"

"I thought it would be more appropriate for students to eat with their teacher."

Diana was an outsider.

"Weren't you once a student?" Curtis asked.

Diana had no response.

"Or, do you not want to?"

He held a dish, looking at her seriously.

Diana looked back, puzzled.

Why was Curtis always asking if she wanted to or not lately?

"Bring the dish over."

"Okay."

Diana took it, still conHarringtonsed, and went to the dining room.

"Ms. Harrington is serving the dishes herself."

"Ms. Harrington, is our professor the only man you serve dishes for?"

"How do you know?" Diana asked the student, pretending to be curious.

"The watch you gave him is worth two million. An independent woman like you wouldn't be serving dishes unless..."

The girl exchanged glances with her classmates, then they all said in unison, "Unless it's true love."

"You're joking. I just..."

Diana blushed.

"What is it? Can't say it means we were right. Ms. Harrington likes our professor."

"No, I just respect him as a teacher."

Diana thought of this excuse.

"But I'm not your teacher," Curtis passed by, saying.

Diana felt embarrassed and glared at him.

A student asked boldly, "Our professor wears the watch Ms. Harrington gave him even in winter, showing he likes Ms. Harrington, right?"
