Chapter 828 Stayed Up All Night Finally Waiting for You

"I love her, only her."

Edward repeated.

Alexander poured him another drink, remaining silent.

Edward downed the entire glass in one gulp and said, "I never intended for those women outside to make her angry. We're all adults and parents too. I thought I had that much self-control."

Alexander stared at him, his gaze growing sharper.

"But that day, the secretary, for some reason, got drunk and threw herself at me. I had no other intentions. The party had just ended, and everyone was still there. I repeatedly told them not to let it get back to Olivia, but it did anyway."

Edward, feeling frustrated, grabbed the bottle to pour himself another drink.

Alexander also picked up his glass. He didn't feel like drinking, but thinking about Edward's words, he took a sip from the wine glass near his lips.

The wine made his throat feel uncomfortable as soon as it entered.

Edward had almost finished venting his frustrations when he suddenly looked at him, "Did Victoria kick you out again?"

Alexander remained silent, glancing at him before raising his glass to his lips. He intended to take a small sip, but his mouth gradually filled with more wine.

He swallowed the large gulp, but his heart still felt uneasy.

He knew what the problem was between him and Victoria.

Eloise said that Naomi had asked her to play dead, saying it was the only way Eloise might be saved.

Victoria thought Eloise was dead at the time, which is why she angrily stabbed Isabella.

Victoria genuinely wanted to take Isabella down with her.

At that moment, Victoria's heart was filled with hate, not love.

She might have already forgotten about him.

But why was it that he was the one forgotten, yet she was the one who felt wronged?

And now, he found himself missing her.

He wanted to hold her tightly in his arms.

Alexander finished all his wine and suddenly turned to leave.

Edward snapped out of it and turned to look at his back, "Alexander, you're not staying with me?"

Alexander didn't respond and was already heading upstairs.

He couldn't stay with Edward because all he wanted now was to hold Victoria close, comfort her cold skin, and soothe her icy chest.

Alexander believed that one day, he would warm her heart and body again, and she would fall in love with him once more.

He stopped at the door, firmly grasping the doorknob, and slowly pushed it open.

But she was no longer in bed.

Alexander immediately went to Olivia's room and knocked on the door.

Victoria must be with Olivia now.

The two women were lying in bed, hugging each other. Hearing the knock, they both glanced at the door. Olivia whispered, "It must be Alexander."

"Why not Edward?" Victoria asked curiously.

"He doesn't need to knock. Besides, they knock differently."

Victoria had noticed this, too, but she didn't care who was outside. The door was locked anyway.

She had intended to lock the master bedroom, but the key was missing. Seeing Alexander and Edward go downstairs, she slipped into the guest room.

She whispered, "Why don't you stay here a bit longer?"

"Why?" Olivia asked, puzzled.

"So we can sleep together every night," Victoria hugged her.

"I don't want to sleep with you every night. Once he learns his lesson, I have to go home," Olivia whispered to Victoria.

"Alright," Victoria said, a bit disappointed.

She had never had a sister growing up, and now that a girl was treating her well, Victoria longed for this sisterly bond.

But Olivia had her family, and after marriage, everyone seemed to prioritize their families.

It was understandable, and she also hoped Olivia would have a happy marriage.

But facing Alexander alone was something Victoria couldn't handle.

Victoria couldn't help but glance at the door, feeling that Alexander was still standing there.

She leaned helplessly on Olivia's shoulder and murmured, "I want a divorce."

"I still say, if he doesn't give up on you, it's pointless to think about it. You might as well stay and fight for more benefits for yourself."

"But I don't need money," Victoria murmured.

Olivia smiled helplessly because Victoria was right.

Olivia glanced at Victoria and hugged her, "I understand, but what can you do right now?"

"Adi said he could help me and Strawberry leave."

Olivia immediately looked at her seriously.

She still wanted to run away?

"I advise you not to. It won't do you or Alexander any good," Olivia warned.

"If I leave, I won't come back."

"What about the elders you care about?"

"I'll gradually stop worrying about them," Victoria said.

Eloise was stronger than they thought. As long as she was doing well outside, Victoria believed Eloise would be fine.

"I still don't agree with you leaving. Your health isn't good, and taking Strawberry with you would be very difficult," Olivia reminded her.

"All problems will be solved, Olivia. I'm really scared of him now."

"Scared of Alexander?"

"Yes," Victoria replied, then leaned closer to Olivia.

She was really scared of Alexander now, scared he would suddenly appear in front of her.

She didn't want to get hurt again.

She wanted to stay far away, never to see him again.

She didn't want to be emotionally affected by him anymore.

She wanted to let the past be the past.

She had considered settling down in her hometown, but she couldn't bring herself to do it."

Every day since she returned at twenty had been turbulent.

Those beautiful days felt like a dream, and now, thinking back, they didn't seem real.

Alexander stood at the door, silently looking at the watch on his wrist, then leaned against the wall, waiting quietly.

Victoria might not come out, but that was okay.

The next morning, Victoria woke up in the guest room. Seeing Olivia still asleep, she quietly got up and left.

She needed to go see Strawberry.

But as soon as she opened the door, a figure fell in.

Victoria was startled and stepped back repeatedly. The person on the ground groggily woke up, "Honey?"

Alexander hadn't even seen who it was and was already mumbling.

Victoria quietly passed by him, about to run, but then saw Edward leaning against the wall.

Did these two sleep here last night?

Especially since she saw a chessboard on the floor.

She didn't know when Alexander had woken up, but he was already looking up at her, "Morning."

His voice was hoarse.

"Morning," Victoria glanced at him and then lowered her eyes, walking past him.

Alexander looked at Edward, who was lying at the door, got up, and kicked Edward's leg before turning to follow Victoria.

Victoria passed by her room, but he grabbed her hand and quickly pulled her inside.

Then, the door was closed from the inside.
