Chapter 830 Answer Me, How Many Times a Day Do You Think about Leaving Me?

Daisy sent the message and then slowly lay back down.

Even if they were together, so what? As long as she tried hard enough, she could break them up.

Unless Victoria was really with Alexander for the Harrington family's wealth, as Isabella said, Victoria had no reason not to be angry.

After reading the message, Alexander looked at Victoria lying on him and asked in confusion, "Could she be working as a saleswoman?"

"So you like this kind of woman. That makes me even less suitable."

Victoria said as she pushed against his chest to get up.

But Alexander easily pinned her down with his hands on her thin back, a faint smile at the corner of his eyes, and whispered, "I like a woman named Vicky."

"That's not me."

Victoria still tried to get up.

"It is you."

Alexander pressed her back into his arms again.

Victoria struggled but couldn't move, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. She took a few deep breaths to calm down and said softly, "It doesn't matter if you like me."

But why did her eyes feel sore?

Was she really that weak that just hearing him say he liked her made her want to cry?

Victoria didn't look at him, just feeling annoyed.

"Are you about to cry again?"

Alexander suddenly murmured as if he knew her very well.

Victoria pressed half her face against his chest to keep him from seeing. When he lifted his head, her hand moved from his chest to cover his face, almost poking his eye by accident.

In the dim light, Alexander felt the warm, soft scent in her palm and suddenly lay there quietly.

With her, it felt as if that was all he needed.

As soon as they arrived at the office in the morning, Victoria's phone rang. She instinctively stopped and looked at Alexander walking ahead.

Alexander also suddenly turned to look at her, his eyes asking what was going on.

Victoria covered the receiver and asked, "Ms. Bryant has an appointment with you at 10:30 AM."

Alexander smiled, "Please, Ms. Kensington, tell her that I'm not available."

Feeling restless, Victoria went to the Human Resources department after finishing her morning tasks.

The company never lacked secretaries, so Victoria asked her colleague to help her review some resumes.

Her colleague Kendall Beaumont, sipping coffee, stood nearby and asked, "Are you pregnant again?"

Victoria looked up from a resume, puzzled, at her forty-something colleague Kendall.

Kendall immediately leaned over the desk and seriously explained her guess, "Last time you had Janaye replace you, then you went to Elysium Country and came back with a baby. Isn't it the same this time?"

Victoria thought Kendall must have misunderstood that she and Alexander were still together.

"No."

Victoria smiled weakly and continued reviewing resumes.

Kendall became even more curious, "So, are you looking for a new secretary for Mr. Harrington?"

Victoria nervously licked her lips, not daring to answer truthfully.

But before leaving, Victoria still stopped and reminded, "Kendall, please keep this matter confidential, okay?"

"Understood."Kendall agreed.

However, after Victoria left, the gossip-loving Kendall immediately posted in the company's small group chat, [Attention all departments, Mrs. Harrington is looking for a new secretary for Mr. Harrington again.]

Many people replied, [Kendall, do you think I can do it?] [Kendall, please recommend me.]

The news reached Alexander during his afternoon meeting.

There weren't many people in the meeting room yet. Someone looked at Victoria sitting next to Alexander, ready to take notes, and said, "Congratulations on your second child."

Both Alexander and Victoria looked at him, puzzled.

"What? Are you keeping it a secret? The whole company knows now. Mrs. Harrington is looking for a new secretary for you."

The person added.

Alexander's eyes lowered slightly. Then he turned to look at Victoria sitting beside him.

Victoria's heart pounded, but she calmly said, "I didn't."

"Didn't? Wasn't Kendall helping you? Keeping it a secret? Got it."

Seeing their expressions, he nodded, thinking he understood.

After all, many wealthy people keep pregnancies secret for the first few months, so he thought he had been too nosy.

But Victoria felt her heart sinking, falling into an abyss.

Alexander soon chuckled softly, then turned to look at Victoria, still with a faint smile on his face.

Victoria was startled by his smile, but as more people arrived for the meeting, she had to focus on work.

As soon as the meeting ended, Victoria closed her notebook and wanted to leave, but Alexander, with a stern expression, said, "Wait a moment before you go."

Victoria instinctively glanced at him, then at the people leaving.

Everyone looked at them, but seeing Alexander's dark expression, they quickly left.

Seeing everyone leave and Alexander sitting there, ready to explode, Victoria tried to sneak away.

But suddenly, her vision darkened.

Alexander stood up instantly, and Victoria reflexively looked up at him, holding her breath.

She felt a powerful aura pushing her into a corner, and if she moved, she would be in trouble.

But Alexander just walked towards the door with his long legs.

Was he leaving?

Victoria instinctively relaxed, but then a loud bang echoed.

He had closed the door from the inside.

Those who hadn't left yet were sweating, relieved they had escaped quickly.

Some were puzzled, wondering what had happened between the couple.

After closing the door, Alexander calmed down for a few seconds, then turned around, holding back his anger, and slowly walked towards her.

His legs were so long it made one's heart race.

Victoria glanced at him, then quickly lowered her head and stepped back.

Alexander, in a restrained, low voice, said, "Aren't you going to explain?"

Victoria looked up at him briefly, then lowered her head and softly said, "I was just browsing."

"Browsing in the Human Resources department?"

Alexander sneered.

He felt she was lying to him, and worse, she thought he was as easy to fool as a kid.

Last time, she had secretly trained Janaye and then left without a word.

Victoria didn't dare to say much and kept silent.

She thought he didn't need to be so angry.

He could divorce her and find someone suitable, someone who would follow him sincerely, not someone like her who always wanted to leave.

Though silent, Alexander felt she was internally arguing with him. He couldn't help but question, "Are you planning to run away again? How many times a day do you think about leaving me?"

Victoria reflexively looked up at him.

She seemed to see the sadness and grievance in his eyes.

Victoria didn't dare look at him for long and lowered her head again.

Alexander, furious, stepped forward, standing closely. When he couldn't see her face, he lifted her chin, forcing her to look up, "Victoria, answer me, how many times a day do you think about leaving me?"

"Countless times."
