Chapter 625 A $700,000 Deal
The next evening, at seven o'clock, Alexander drove home on time.
There was another car discreetly tailing his movements. It remained stationary until it witnessed him entering the mansion.
Alexander's car stopped at the gate, and after a few seconds, he continued driving seriously while making a call. "Check if someone is following me."
He hung up the phone, stopped the car in front of the brightly lit house, and then got out with a box.
"Mr. Harrington is back."
The new butler, Alfred McDonald, greeted him at the door.
"Where's Victoria?" Alexander asked as he walked inside with his long strides.
Alfred replied, "She is watching TV."
"Got it," Alexander abruptly halted, a smile evident in his eyes, as he reached into the box he was carrying.
Alfred took the empty box he handed over and couldn't help but glance at him again as he walked inside.
"What does this mean?" Victoria was extremely nervous.
At this moment, five boxes of Durex were neatly placed in front of her.
"Someone else sent them," Alexander told her seriously.
"Sent Durex?" Victoria was flustered but still able to discern.
"Yes," Alexander said and crossed his arms, still looking serious.
Victoria at the five boxes of Durex, her mouth twitching.
Alfred felt a bit awkward watching this and quickly left.
In the living room, Victoria suddenly lost her appetite for the snacks. She quickly left while he was dealing with documents.
"Mr. Barnes, what's our next project? How about I join the crew early?" she sneaked into the study to call Dennis, asking ingratiatingly.
"Didn't you say you wanted to take a break?" Dennis asked her.
"I don't want to rest anymore." Victoria touched her lips, sitting lightly in the chair, afraid of disturbing Alexander.
"There's a good project recently. If we can bring in some investment, the lead role will definitely be yours."
"What should I do?"
"Convince your husband," Dennis told her.
Victoria hung up, frowning in worry.
Her agent wanted her to bribe her husband to invest.
What a hassle. Alexander was generous with money, but he always had conditions.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Victoria nervously asked, "Who is it?"
"Olivia is here to see you." Alexander stood at the door in simple trousers and a shirt, without a belt.
"Okay," Victoria agreed, her heart trembling as she glanced at his waist.
Alexander looked at her from a distance, smiling, "Come out quickly. Don't keep the guest waiting too long."
"Got it," she agreed and quickly got up.
When she and Alexander went downstairs to the living room and saw Edward there, Victoria quickly nodded politely. "Mr. Sinclair."
"You and Olivia are so familiar, why not call me Eddie like she does?" Edward said seriously.
"Eddie? Is that appropriate?" Victoria asked innocently.
"No, definitely not appropriate; what are you thinking about?" Alexander said as he glared at Edward, who had made the suggestion.
"Alright, then Edward is fine. Are you OK with that?" Edward negotiated with Alexander.
"OK." Alexander didn't argue this time.
Victoria and Olivia both glanced at Alexander curiously, then ignored him.
"I brought you gifts," Olivia said to them, placing her hands on the table.
When Alexander and Victoria saw the gifts Olivia brought, they both fell silent.
"Maintaining a Slim Figure During Pregnancy" vs. "Encyclopedia of Pregnancy."
"Well..." Victoria questioned slowly.
"Edward and I went to buy books for pregnant women after work tonight, thinking you might have children soon, so we bought two more for you," Olivia explained patiently.
Victoria could only smile politely and awkwardly told her, "Actually, we haven't planned to have children yet."
"But didn't you say..."
With Olivia seated next to her, Victoria quickly covered her mouth as she said, "Hey, don't say it."
Alexander saw Victoria's embarrassed, flushed face, pulled her to sit beside him, and said seriously, "Thank you very much for the gifts."
Victoria looked at him in confusion.
"We will have children eventually, and these will come in handy," Alexander played with her fingers and told Victoria responsibly.
Victoria's heart skipped a beat; she felt he was so sincere that she was willing to believe him.
They would have children.
"Okay," Victoria subconsciously agreed obediently.
However, the image of the five boxes of Durex on the table suddenly flashed in her mind, making her a bit scared.
After Olivia and Edward had dinner at their house and left, Victoria was taking a bath when Alexander received a call, "Did you find out?"
"It was a local car, and the last place it went was the hospital where Ms. Montgomery is," the other party reported.
"Got it," Alexander responded.
Then he made another call, and as soon as it was answered, he said, "Someone will send you an email later, and you should send it out tomorrow morning."
"Okay," the other party replied.
Alexander hung up, then sat on the couch by the window, casually picking up the Durex someone had brought them, and suddenly relaxed.
It was Shoure. He said he bought too many and bribed him.
Actually, he wasn't particularly fond of this brand. He worried that it might trigger memories of the past for Victoria and potentially impact her mood.
But he just wanted to see her reaction to so many Durex.
Alexander raised his hand to his chin, soon unable to hold back his laughter.
Victoria really thought he would use that stuff?
At first, he forgot to use it, and later they didn't use it several times.
Using it now would be pointless.
If she didn't get pregnant after a while, they could use it then.
Alexander wasn't in a hurry for Victoria to get pregnant; they had just gotten together and could enjoy more time together.
Actually, he wanted to keep being intimate, but he was worried she couldn't handle it.

The next morning, there was a piece of big news that the Montgomery Group's heir was confirmed to be Arthur.
Suddenly, the city was abuzz with rumors about Isabella being replaced. Isabella had two broken ribs, and the pain was unbearable when she got angry, but she couldn't help throwing her phone and shouting at the nurse who came in to give her an injection, "Get out! All of you get out."
"What happened? Isabella, what's wrong now?" Naomi entered the room from outside, noticing the frightened nurse and the fallen phone. She picked it up and inquired about the situation.
"Close the door," Isabella shouted when she saw Naomi walking in without closing the door.
"Alright, I'll close it; don't get upset," Naomi coaxed her, afraid of her getting more furious.
After Naomi closed the door and walked over, Isabella immediately grabbed the phone. Seeing it still worked, she made a call, "Have you thought about what I asked you to do?"
"It's too risky."
"Seven hundred thousand dollars," Isabella suddenly shouted.
Soon, the other side responded, "Deal."
