Chapter 759 I Couldn't Ask for More
Victoria quickly caught on to what was happening and threw Alexander's coat over herself before opening Facebook. She hesitated for a moment, not really wanting to delete Samuel right after adding him, but she figured, 'Samuel will get it.'
Alexander secretly watched her delete Samuel and finally let out a sigh of relief. Then he heard Victoria, still in his arms, say, "I deleted him. Can you help me sit up now?"
"Delete his phone number too."
Victoria looked up at him, her long lashes fluttering, but she obediently deleted Samuel's number and then looked at him again. "Now can you help me up?"
He murmured, "My arms are warm, just stay like this."
Victoria gently reminded him, "Alexander, this isn't right."
She couldn't understand why he still acted like he was doing this for her benefit. They were divorced—was it really necessary to stay this close? He wasn't the type to lack female attention. Yet his eyes were so clear with desire.
He sighed, his voice slightly hoarse, "Haven't I done enough wrong things already?"
"Then..."
"If you keep talking, I'll keep kissing you." Alexander looked at her with an unyielding gaze, threatening her.
Victoria held her breath, and after a few seconds, she let it out. She felt like she was tricked by him again and said angrily, "I'll add him back."
Alexander's face changed instantly as he said, "Don't you dare."
"If you can trick me, why can't I add him back?" Victoria said defiantly, really opening Facebook to add him back.
"Then I'll make sure you'll regret it," Alexander said through his teeth.
Victoria's hand holding the phone stopped, then she slowly looked up at him.
She wanted to see what kind of bastard would go back on his word, and when she saw clearly, she couldn't help but murmur in her heart, 'turns out he's really a seductive guy.'
Alexander was a beast in a suit. How could someone say such things through gritted teeth?
"Weren't you just so confident? Go ahead, add him, I can't wait," Alexander said sternly again.
Victoria had nothing to say, pouting angrily in his arms.
Alexander watched her calm down in a few seconds, feeling a bit soft-hearted. Ever since they reunited, her appearance always made him feel uneasy.
Maybe he wasn't used to her hairstyle yet, or maybe it had nothing to do with habit, but every time he saw her short hair, he thought of her suffering and the doctor's words that she had no will to live.
Victoria quickly lowered her eyes, not so angry anymore, her waist being gently massaged by a warm force, the pressure just right.
He was massaging her again. He seemed to have learned some techniques recently, it felt similar to the massages she got in the hospital, but they were different. Whether it was the temperature or the feeling.
Victoria silently felt it, wanting him to raise the partition, fearing that Leander might think they were doing something behind. But then she thought, raising it now might attract more attention, so she had to endure it.
Alexander's phone rang, he continued massaging her while glancing at it, then answered with a blank expression, "You handle it, Tori's not feeling well, I'm taking her back."
Victoria's heart trembled, he hadn't called her that in a long time. After Alexander hung up, she murmured, "Why do you always use me as an excuse?"
"What?"
"Obviously, it is you who wants to come over and see Strawberry," Victoria said, eyeing Alexander.
He didn't respond, just kept looking at her.
Victoria held his gaze for a moment before looking away. Sometimes, she just couldn't outstare him.
The car pulled up to the old neighborhood on Rockland Street. Alexander got out first and then turned to help her.
Victoria instinctively placed her hand in his, her heart fluttering when he grasped it. It was too late to pull back. She stepped out of the car, glanced at him awkwardly, and said, "Thanks."
Alexander just stared at her, saying nothing. He then turned to the driver and said, "You can head back. Drive safe."
"Yes, Mr. Harrington."
"How are you getting back?" Victoria asked, then quickly added, "Leander, he can come down in half an hour. Wait for him."
"Do you think I can only stay hard for half an hour?" Alexander's tall figure loomed over her, blocking the wind, his tone annoyed.
"What are you talking about? You should be down in three minutes, just take a look and—"
Leander coughed awkwardly, cutting her off.
Victoria stopped, not noticing Leander's awkwardness but seeing Alexander's annoyed expression.
"I wasn't talking about that," she said, pulling her hand from his and quickly walking towards the building.
"You can go back," Alexander instructed the driver, his eyes following Victoria as she hurried inside.
"Yes, Mr. Harrington." Leander drove away immediately.
Alexander walked inside leisurely, but with an air of determination. He wasn't planning to leave. He still preferred sleeping with her.
At the door, Alexander noticed the broken light and said, "I have a suggestion."
"What suggestion?" Victoria asked.
"Let's go back to Serenade Villa."
Victoria didn't respond. She opened the door and went in. Strawberry was already asleep in Eve's room.
Eve was in the living room texting. Seeing them come back, she immediately stood up and said, "Mr. Harrington, Mrs. Harrington, you're back early."
"Is Strawberry asleep?" Victoria asked.
"Yes."
"Thank you, we'll go check on her," Victoria said, gesturing for Eve to sit down, then walked towards Eve's room.
Eve didn't dare sit down, especially with Alexander there.
Alexander saw Victoria wave at him, sighed in frustration, but followed her.
She whispered by the bed, "Come and see."
But her back hurt, and she couldn't bend down.
Alexander walked over, standing beside her, looking at the sleeping Strawberry. He suddenly said, "Victoria."
"What?"
"Thank you for giving birth to her."
Caught off guard, Victoria looked at him in surprise. Alexander looked at her too, giving a grateful smile, then looked down again.
Victoria also looked down, seeing Strawberry's big eyes open, smiling at them. She couldn't help but smile too, whispering, "You woke her up."
Alexander asked, "Wasn't it you?"
Victoria, unsure who woke Strawberry, didn't argue. Alexander asked, "Do you want to hold her or should I?"
"You hold her, then leave quickly. Leander is waiting for you downstairs." Victoria avoided his gaze, looking elsewhere.
Alexander smiled helplessly, picking up Strawberry, then raised an eyebrow at her, asking deliberately, "You wouldn't be trying to get rid of me, would you?"
"I..."
He interrupted with a smile, saying, "Of course you wouldn't."
