Chapter 330 Victoria, Happy Birthday

In the deepest hours of the night, a man's low and gentle voice whispered, "Victoria, happy birthday," to the woman slumbering in his embrace.By the break of dawn, a light drizzle had begun to fall. The woman, naked and nestled in the bed, stirred. Her thick, long eyelashes fluttered open, revealing a world blurred by sleep.

Was that a bouquet of flowers before her? Roses, perhaps? Her throat felt parched, her temples throbbed with a dull ache, and her body felt as if it had been tossed about. A chill swept across her bare chest, causing her to shudder and her eyelashes to quiver.

Two seconds later, she sat upright.Instinctively, she clutched the blanket to her chest, casting a quick, cautious glance around the room. It wasn't an unfamiliar setting; she was in Alexander's private suite at the hotel. She had been there twice before and recognized it instantly. But why was she in such a state, in this bed?

A vague intuition suggested they had been intimate the previous night. But what had happened after that? Her mind was clouded, and she raised a hand to her throbbing forehead, her fingers brushing against the familiar ring on her finger and the beautiful diamond bracelet on her wrist.

She stared at them in silence, a strange sensation stirring within her. She tried to recall the events of the previous night. Her grandmother had given her a necklace, which she had promptly put on. And then? The necklace was now neatly placed on the bedside table. He must have removed it for her last night, hadn't he?

Victoria struggled to remember, her head pounding with the effort. There was a knock on the bedroom door. "Madam, Alexander says the meal will be ready in twenty minutes."

"Okay," Victoria responded, her gaze flicking to the door as she politely acknowledged the message. She breathed a sigh of relief, then glanced down at the floor, finding it spotless. The room was as pristine as if nothing had occurred the previous night. But why was she without any clothes? Not even underwear?

The closet was filled with women's attire. He had said they were for her, and today she found herself unable to refuse.

Her heart pounded wildly as she quickly got out of bed and glanced back at the neatly made bed. A sense of loss washed over her. She scolded herself for her foolishness as she began to search for clothes, trying in vain to find a pair of pants. Eventually, she settled for a long, decent skirt.Stepping out of the bedroom, she found Alexander in the living room, engaged in a video conference. He was dressed in his usual attire: simple black trousers and a crisp white shirt, a document in hand as he listened to the report from the other end.

Her heart raced at the sight of him. Who wouldn't be captivated by his serious demeanor?

Victoria knew she was still deeply ensnared. She lowered her head in frustration, angry at herself for being so easily swayed. She had seen his face countless times recently. Was it possible to fall in love with him at first sight? Or was it simply because he was so handsome? But he was more than just a handsome face. His abilities far exceeded those of ordinary men.Victoria didn't realize she had been staring at him until he turned to her and said, "I'll be ready soon."

She was still lost in her thoughts.

Seeing her dazed expression, Alexander felt a pang in his heart. He chuckled softly and called out to her in his low, gentle voice, "Victoria?"

"Hi!" she responded, her gaze still fixed on him.

"You did well last night," he said.
