Chapter 821 Starting tonight, You Will Be Staying at Serenade Villa
"We're not getting back together. You know I don't want you anymore."Victoria didn't like Alexander smiling at her, so she expressed herself bluntly on purpose.
Alexander, however, smiled even more indulgently after hearing this; his seductive voice had a captivating power. "You won't leave me."
Victoria was about to retort but accidentally saw someone standing at the door.
She quickly tried to spring off him, but Alexander held her down. Seeing her blush, he immediately glanced towards the door.
Shoure smiled, "I won't disturb you for long. Just need your signature."
Alexander still held Victoria, "Bring it here."
Victoria looked at Alexander, who didn't treat Shoure as an outsider, and suddenly felt a bit embarrassed.
She wished she could disappear.
"I need to get back to my post."
"I've given you the afternoon off. Now you're my wife, and you belong in my arms."
Victoria gritted her teeth in anger but could only protest with her gaze.
Shoure handed Alexander the document and then sat nearby. He didn't dare to look around but wanted to sneak a few glances.
Shoure found the couple quite interesting. They seemed like enemies but could be lovers in an instant.
Seeing Alexander holding Victoria, Shoure suddenly thought of something. He hesitated and slowly spoke, "Ms. Kensington is back too. Should we lift the ban on office romances?"
Victoria looked at Shoure upon hearing this, suddenly remembering that Janaye had complained about this before. She then looked at Alexander.
"Let's leave this decision to Victoria."
Victoria looked at him in surprise even more. Why was she the one making the decision?
Shoure looked at Victoria with interest, but Victoria stared unblinkingly at Alexander, who was seriously reading the document, exuding his male charm.
"What does this have to do with me?"Victoria asked, not wanting to meddle.
Alexander, still seriously reading the document, glanced at Shoure with a smile, "You tell her."
Shoure quickly explained the reason for the rule.
After hearing it, Victoria immediately said, "So, this is your and Janaye's problem, not mine."
She didn't want to take on the responsibility.
"How is this my and Janaye's problem? You were the one who upset Mr. Harrington first."
"But you two kept flaunting your sweetness in front of him. If you hadn't done that, he wouldn't have thought of such a perverse rule."Victoria said.
Shoure took a deep breath. Janaye had always said Victoria's got quite a way with words, but he just thought she was gentle and easy to talk to. Today, he saw it firsthand.
"Say what you want, but whether people can date in the company is now up to you. Do you agree or not?"Shoure asked.
"So you two men are pushing this unpopular decision onto me, a woman?"Victoria asked in confusion.
Shoure immediately felt guilty, awkwardly scratching the back of his head and avoiding her gaze.
But Alexander just said calmly, "Pen."
Victoria instinctively got up to get him a pen.
"Shoure."
Alexander held her down and called Shoure.
Shoure immediately got up to get a pen and didn't sit back down.
As soon as Alexander signed, Shoure took the document and left.
It was as if Shoure had never brought up the dating issue.
Alexander looked at Victoria for a few seconds, then turned to Shoure, "Shoure, that rule is temporarily lifted."
"Okay."
Shoure turned back, agreed, and left.
After closing the door, Shoure paused, thinking, 'Temporarily lifted? Doesn't that mean it could be reinstated at any time?'
'What would happen to the colleagues already dating then?'
'Would they have to break up?' Shoure wanted to go back in and ask but decided against it.
He would just pass on the message and let those secretly dating breathe a sigh of relief for now.
In the office, Alexander still held Victoria in his arms, his deep and bewitching voice saying, "How could I let my wife be the bad guy?"
Victoria thought, "Stop calling me your wife. Soon, I won't be."
"What exactly did you tell the attorney?"
"I laid out our issues for him. He's had his romantic troubles, so he should understand my predicament."
"What?"
Victoria was stunned.
Although Alexander spoke so properly, she felt something was off.
What predicament did he have?
"You didn't investigate the attorney, did you?"
Victoria couldn't help but ask.
"Of course. Knowing your opponent makes it easier to win."
Victoria looked at Alexander in disbelief. He was so cunning.
He said she had schemes, but could she be more devious than him?
Alexander's phone on the table rang, and he finally let her go.
Victoria immediately left his office. Seeing the unfamiliar number, he answered irritably, "Who is this?"
"It's me, Daisy."
Alexander frowned.
"Can I invite you to lunch today?"
"No."
Alexander refused decisively and hung up.
He immediately went out and saw Victoria packing her bag. He quickly walked over to her, "Let's have lunch together."
"Sorry, I'm busy."
"Mr. Hill and Mr. Parker will be there. We need to discuss some data, and I need you to take notes."
"I have plans with a friend," Victoria said.
"What friend?"Alexander asked, looking at her.
Victoria lowered her head, tucked her hair, and softly said, "None of your business."
She tried to leave, but Alexander grabbed her wrist, "I can't keep you anymore, can I? Let's just have lunch together."
"Aren't Mr. Hill and Mr. Parker with you? Have their assistants take notes for you. I'll call them."Victoria replied seriously.
Alexander didn't let her get her phone, just held her other hand too, "I admit I lied. I just want to have lunch with you alone, okay?"
"I have plans with a friend."
She didn't even bother to say no.
She thought having plans was a good excuse.
"I didn't tell you something."
Alexander suddenly became serious, even a bit cold.
Victoria looked at him, cautiously waiting.
"I had Eve move your things to Serenade Villa. Starting tonight, you'll live there."
Victoria looked at him in disbelief.
"You said that's your home. I'm just making it a reality."
"Alexander, don't you think you're being overbearing? Did you ask for my opinion?"
Victoria angrily pulled her wrist from his grasp, painfully looking at him and questioning.
How could he make decisions for her so presumptuously?
"I don't need to ask. You spoke your true feelings when you were drunk that night."Alexander explained solemnly.
Victoria looked at him, her soft lips slightly parted but unable to speak.
"That's it," Alexander said and left.
Victoria stood stunned for a few seconds, then turned to look at his tall, upright figure, "Alexander, what about our agreement? Are you completely disregarding it?"
