Chapter 924 Bothering Curtis Day and Night
Alexander seemed to be giving up on himself.
Victoria wasn't without feelings, she just didn't want to get caught up in their emotional whirlpool again.
"Shall we eat out?"
"What about Alexander?"
Victoria was at a loss when Diana walked up to her.
"You're leaving anyway, right? It's good for him to get used to it early." Diana reminded softly.
"Okay."
Victoria thought it made sense; after all, there were plenty of servants at home to take care of Alexander.
Alexander went to the dining room, and it wasn't until Mason came to report, "Mr. Harrington, they've all gone out."
"I see."
Alexander stretched his long legs wearily, his eyes instantly darkening.
Victoria and Diana found a breakfast place near the university. Diana asked Victoria, "Are you leaving?"
"Yes."
"If Alexander went blind, would you leave?"
Victoria hadn't even taken a bite of her bread and looked at Diana.
"I'm just saying, what if Alexander needed someone close by?"
"The servants at home are all experienced and will take care of him."
After Victoria said this, she tried to eat her bread but couldn't.
"What you say makes sense, but you know he just wants you by his side."
Diana sighed and whispered.
"Hold on, the person showing us the house is calling. We should be able to go see it now."
Victoria's phone rang, and she immediately looked down to check it, changing the topic.
Seeing that Victoria was avoiding the issue with Alexander, Diana didn't bring it up again.
After breakfast, the sun was shining brightly in the sky, and they both put on sunglasses and entered the neighborhood.
Brandon Hughes, who was showing the house, enthusiastically introduced the benefits of the two remaining units in the building. Diana suddenly asked, "What kind of people live in this building?"
"There are two business families, two actors, and I think a teacher?"
"Which floor is the teacher on?"
"The first floor."
"Does anyone live across from him?"
"No."
Brandon was a bit startled by Diana's urgent questioning.
"I want the first floor, across from him."
"Okay."
Brandon glanced nervously at Victoria and whispered, "Mrs. Harrington."
"Is the first-floor resident named Curtis?" Victoria questioned calmly.
"I don't know."
"Could you please check for us?" Victoria added.
Diana, already excited and a bit confused, just nodded in agreement with Victoria.
After they entered the house and Brandon left, Diana stood at the door looking across for a long time before suddenly turning to Victoria.
She questioned instantly, "Victoria, how do you know his name?"
Victoria gazed out at the view, thinking how nice the first floor would be, with a yard perfect for coffee and relaxing."The day you went to the hotel to find him, I was staying next door. The hotel had poor soundproofing."
Victoria explained simply.
Diana felt a bit embarrassed but quickly approached Victoria and warned in a low voice, "Don't tell anyone, especially my parents and grandparents."
"Can Alexander know about this?"
"Of course, try not to tell Alexander. I'm afraid he'll pressure Curtis."
Diana knew Alexander spoiled her and didn't want Curtis to be forced into marrying her.
"Okay." Victoria nodded in agreement.
Diana heard a noise from across the hall and immediately ran over.
Victoria stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, watching. When Curtis came out, a beautiful woman came to pick him up, and she was on an electric scooter.
After seeing the two leave, Victoria noticed Diana beside her, her eyes red.
"I always thought only women feared they were out of a man's league, but it turns out men can feel the same way."
Diana thought, 'What's so good about that broken electric scooter?'
'When it rains, you'll get wet; when it snows, you'll freeze. There's not a single advantage, except that two people can stick very close together.'
'Damn it.'
'Did that woman win over Curtis with an electric scooter?'
'This cannot occur.'
Diana contemplated that starting tomorrow, she would pretend to encounter Curtis. She couldn't believe Curtis would feel nothing seeing her. After all, they had been intimate before...
Ever since he found out about her hidden identity, he has broken up with her.
What a coward, scared off by the label of a rich girl. But she just couldn't let go of Curtis.
"Did he just start teaching in Ankenra City?" Victoria asked Diana.
"Yes."
"Is that why you came back to the city?"
Diana tacitly agreed, then stared outside.
"But why did that woman follow him here, too?"
Diana muttered to herself after a while.
"I don't think they're in that kind of relationship," Victoria remarked.
"What?" Diana's heart trembled at the words.
She desperately needed this kind of comfort.
"When I saw Curtis sitting behind her just now, he was holding onto the back. If they were close, would he do that?"
"Really? You observed so closely. I just feel they're not a couple. He must have found a woman to make me back off, right?"
"That I don't know," Victoria murmured.
Diana felt as if she had plummeted from paradise to the depths of despair.
Later, Diana dragged Victoria upstairs and asked Alexander for the password. Alexander replied, "Victoria knows it."
"Alexander said you know the password."
Diana didn't expect to be hung up on so quickly and looked at Victoria.
Victoria had guessed a string of numbers but was reluctant to try.
However, she eventually reached out and pressed the numbers, and the door opened.
"What did you just press?"
Diana was puzzled; she hadn't had time to see clearly.
"I just pressed randomly."
Victoria replied softly and walked in.
The interior was decorated in a very business-like style. Victoria glanced around and then sat on the sofa without moving.
Diana walked around before returning to the living room to sit with Victoria. Not knowing what Victoria was thinking, Diana remarked, "If you guys move here in the future, we'll be neighbors."
"Alexander might move here, but how could I?"
"Alright, you'll be back in Elysium Country by then, and Alexander will find a young, beautiful woman to live happily with and have two kids. Perfect."
Victoria glanced at Diana, knowing she said it on purpose, but anything was possible.
Victoria's phone rang suddenly. Seeing it was Alexander's number, she hesitated for a while before answering, "Hello?"
"You're not far from the office. Come help me."
"What do you need help with?"
"My eyes," Alexander replied and hung up.
Victoria sensed he was quite unhappy; was it because she went out for breakfast with Diana?
She hadn't planned to go to the office building until Shoure called, "You need to come quickly. A bunch of people are waiting for him, and he insists he can't see clearly and won't start working until you arrive."
"Shoure, you know I can't go."
"Why can't you? This isn't the time for you two to be sulking. This involves the livelihoods of thousands. A factory had a major accident; we can't delay."
"What?"
"There are over twenty people in danger. The families of those people are causing a scene at the factory."
"I'll be right there."
Victoria quickly hung up and grabbed her bag to leave.
Seeing Victoria run so fast, Diana couldn't help but ask, "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to the office. We'll talk later."
"Take my car."
"Okay."
Victoria agreed and drove Diana's car to the office building.
Diana thought it was good that the car was taken. She returned to the first floor and immediately called Mason, asking him to arrange for furniture to be delivered.
She was going to live here, so she could bother Curtis day and night.
