Chapter 634 Forcing Her to Say "I love You"

Later, at the dining hall.

The whole family sat around the table eating. Alexander appeared visibly unhappy.

Eloise glanced diagonally across the table and then asked, "Why are you looking so upset?"

Alexander knew she was asking him and replied emotionlessly, "I'm not upset."

"It's written all over your face, and you say you're denying it?" Eloise asked again.

"If you keep being unhappy, you can leave. Do you think you can throw a tantrum in this house?" Brett glanced over and mentioned.

Sensing the tension in the air, Victoria instinctively placed her hand under the table.

"I was wrong, okay? How about I join you for a drink to make it up to you?" Alexander suggested.

"You said it, Cade, bring out my treasured wine." Brett immediately poured a glass and drank with Alexander.

Victoria's hand hadn't touched Alexander's thigh yet. When she heard Alexander appease Brett, she was about to move her hand away, but it was suddenly pressed down.

Her hand was pressed on his thigh.

Victoria lowered her head, holding a spoon with her left hand, and silently took a sip of soup.

How did Alexander know her hand was there?

Victoria's heart was pounding. Holding hands under the table in front of the elders was too nerve-wracking.

Eloise grumbled to Brett, "You were so harsh on your grandson just for this glass of wine?"

"Absolutely not! He made a troublesome woman to break our decades-old door. Can't I scold him a bit?" Brett quickly defended himself.

Arabella and Maximus listened quietly.

After all, they didn't think Isabella crashing into the house and breaking the door was a small matter. They still needed to talk to Alexander about it.

Feeling a bit annoyed at this point, Alexander drank a few more glasses with Brett.

Brett couldn't drink much, so Alexander looked at Maximus, "Dad, how about we drink?"

The elders noticed something was off, and Victoria couldn't help but look at Alexander, feeling a bit sad.

She thought, 'Is he still angry? Just because I didn't say I love him?'

Alexander never used to say those things, either. He even said he would never love her.

Why was he so emotional now?

"It's just a drink. If you don't want to drink, then forget it. Let's eat."

Seeing everyone doubting him, Alexander didn't insist.

Victoria fixed her gaze on him. Alexander squeezed her hand, looked at her, and smiled, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," she quickly replied and lowered her head.

After dinner, Alexander received a call and went out to take it.

Arabella pulled Victoria to sit on the couch and said, "Don't worry. I'll call him back later."

"Why call him back? It was his fault that Isabella caused trouble at home. As your dad said, if anyone should be angry it shouldn't be him," Eloise quickly added, not wanting Victoria to feel wronged.

"Grandma, Mom, it's not about that," Victoria felt everyone misunderstood and explained seriously.

"Not about Isabella? Then what is it?" Arabella looked at her in confusion.

Feeling embarrassed to reveal it, Victoria just smiled apologetically.

It was just because she didn't say "I love you."

But now, no matter what, she wouldn't say it.

Even if she wanted to say it in her heart, she couldn't.

Unless one day she felt their relationship was stable, then she could tell him.

Later, Victoria went upstairs, and Eloise grumbled, "Hurry up and call him back. I took Victoria to the doctor a few days ago, and the doctor didn't prescribe any medicine."

"You mean, I'm going to be a grandmother?" Arabella asked excitedly.

"Very likely. Call him back quickly. He's five years older than Victoria, and he's still throwing tantrums. So self-willed." Eloise continued to grumble.

"Okay," Arabella agreed and quickly made the call.

Alexander didn't answer. He hadn't gone far, actually.

The car was parked by the beach, and he stood outside, smoking in the sea breeze.

Of course, he knew Arabella was calling him back, but why didn't Victoria call?

If she said a compromising word, even if she didn't say "I love you," he would...

When the phone rang again, Alexander glanced at it. It was the person he was thinking of.

He thought he should wait a few seconds. If he answered too quickly, she might think he was waiting for her call.

However, the call ended quickly.

Victoria thought she would call him after taking a shower. He might be on his way to drink with Benjamin and the others.

It must be that.

As Victoria entered the bathroom and closed the door behind her, a few seconds later, the phone began to ring once more. Unfortunately, the timing was such that she missed the call.Alexander's finger got burned by the cigarette butt, but he just frowned and dialed again, but she still didn't answer.

Annoyed, Alexander threw the phone on the car seat and took a deep drag of his cigarette.

Victoria really had no patience at all.

Why didn't she call him for a bit longer?

And why didn't she answer when he called back?

Was she throwing a tantrum too?

Wasn't she the one who wanted to hold his hand under the table?

Alexander regretted running out earlier.

After finishing his cigarette, he got in the car. When Arabella called again, he answered it and spoke first, "I'm coming back right away."

Arabella hung up in confusion.

Eloise asked worriedly, "What's wrong? He still didn't answer?"

"No, he said he was coming back right away before I even spoke."

"He knows he's wrong." Eloise was quite pleased.

"Mom, actually, I've never seen him so emotional since he was a child, until Victoria came into the family." Arabella suddenly felt a bit sad.

"Are you feeling sorry for him?" Eloise asked.

"They're always at odds, and it worries me," Arabella replied.

"I know you care for your son, but Victoria only has us as her family. We need to stand firm." Eloise's words were also meant to comfort her.

"I know." Arabella nodded.

If it were an ordinary marriage, Arabella would never side with her daughter-in-law.

But Victoria's fate was different from other girls, so she could only stand by Victoria.

When Alexander returned home and saw Arabella and Eloise in the living room, he walked over, "Is she still here?"

"You come back so soon," Eloise said in surprise.

"Where's Victoria?" Alexander asked.

"She went upstairs to rest," Arabella replied.

"You should rest early too." Alexander hugged both of them and then left.

Arabella and Eloise watched him stride upstairs, feeling even more heartbroken.

They had never seen him care so much about a girl. But Victoria seemed completely unaware of being cared for.

When Victoria came out of the shower and saw the missed call, she called him back.

Alexander took out his phone, answered it, and walked towards the bedroom. "Hello?"

"You called me?" Victoria asked.

"Didn't you call first?" Alexander asked back.

Victoria was speechless.

"I just wanted to ask why you called," Alexander said.

"The elders were worried about us after you left. Are you coming back?"

"Do you want me to come back?"

"I want you to come back, or Mom and Grandma will be worried sick," Victoria whispered to him.

Alexander stopped, "Just because they're worried?"

"What's wrong with you?"

"You know it," Alexander said and hung up.

Victoria could only put down her phone but couldn't help but mutter, "What do I know?"

Suddenly, the door was opened from the outside.

She looked up with red eyes and saw him standing at the door. Her tears fell without any regard for her dignity.

The door quickly closed, and Alexander took a few steps to her, his voice full of pressure, "Say you love me."
