Chapter 588 Try Walking out of This House Tonight

Sitting on Alexander's lap, Victoria asked humbly in a low voice, "Am I being priced like an item now?"

Alexander replied, "If you like it that way."

"I do. I really do."

Victoria looked at him, feeling sadness washing over her.

"Are we still preparing for the invitations?" Edward broke the heavy atmosphere by speaking first.

Alexander and Victoria were still staring at each other as if they hadn't heard.

After a long while, Victoria softly asked, "Mr. Harrington, should we prepare for them or not?"

"Yeah, we'll prepare," Alexander replied.

"Alright, but if I have to sell myself, I don't want to sell to Mr. Harrington, so don't include me in the invitation, thank you," Victoria said seriously, her hand moving slightly as if to push him away, but in the end, she only whispered, "Even if it's a transaction, it should be consensual, and I don't consent, so Mr. Harrington, can you let me go?"

Alexander looked at her for a few seconds before letting go.

Finally, a tear streamed down Victoria's cheek. Unable to say anything, she quickly got up and walked out with her head down.

"Are you crazy? Do you know what you just said?" Olivia couldn't help but scold him, then immediately went to chase after Victoria.

Edward grabbed Olivia's wrist, and she turned, "Let go."

Edward didn't say anything, just looking towards the sofa.

Sure enough, within seconds, Alexander strode out.

Victoria was stopped at the door, and Alexander angrily questioned, "You think you're free to go?"

Victoria looked up at him, equally angry, though her voice wasn't as steady, "Mr. Harrington, are you trying to use your power to force me?"

"Whatever, but don't try leaving this house tonight."

"No way. Move aside. I'll leave," Victoria said firmly.

Alexander looked at her tearful, angry face, his heart inexplicably aching. He then grabbed her and lifted her, carrying her inside.

Everyone around held their breath, thinking this was a bit too rough.

She was afraid of heights and couldn't help but shout, "Alexander, you jerk! Let me go! I'll sue you."

"Alexander! Olivia, Olivia, help me find a lawyer, I'm gonna sue him," Victoria stubbornly called out to Olivia as she passed by.

Olivia thought, 'Victoria, our lawyers are Alexander's legal team.'

As Alexander carried her upstairs, he suddenly turned and said, "Finish preparing for the invitations before you leave." He then told the others, "Help yourselves."

Everyone didn't mind, feeling as comfortable here as at home.

"Be careful of her head injury," Benjamin reminded him.

Alexander thought, 'How can I not be careful? Otherwise, she would be slung over my shoulder instead of being carrieds.'

Soon, Victoria was brought to a room. As soon as Alexander put her down, she tried to run. He pinned her against the wall and warned,"If you run again, I'll really tie you up."

"Go ahead, and tie me up. I can't fight you anyway." Victoria felt extremely wronged.

With their friends downstairs, he talked about transactions and threats, and now he even wanted to tie her up.

He didn't care about her as much as a stranger.

"Do you have to treat me like this?" Alexander felt like he was going to explode with anger.

"What did I do? Do I not even have the right to speak?" Victoria complained while wiping away her tears.

She felt she had no rights in front of him.

"Don't try to retort." Alexander couldn't help but threaten as he watched her cry so hard.

"I just..." Victoria's mouth was suddenly covered, and she couldn't see anything.

Alexander's muffled groan soon followed, and he pressed his forehead against hers, murmuring in pain, "Why did you bite me again?"

"Because you were being too much." Victoria's voice was hoarse with sobs.

Alexander looked at her helplessly. "How can I make you stop crying?"

Victoria sobbed, looking at him.

Sensing that he was feeling sympathetic towards her again. she seized the opportunity and requested. "Let me go."

Alexander refused, "Anything but that."

"I want to go to the Harrington Mansion."

"To complain?"

"Yes."

"Fine, wait here." Alexander suddenly let go and left the room.

Victoria stood there, confused and stunned. She thought, 'Where is he going?'

But within a minute, just as she peeked through the door to escape, he suddenly rushed back in.

She quickly pulled her face back, almost getting hit.

Alexander was also startled, but then he picked her up again.

"What are you doing?" Victoria asked.

Alexander replied, "Aren't you going to complain to my family members?"

Before Victoria could figure it out, she heard Eloise's voice.

Alexander placed her on the bed and handed her the phone.

Victoria had to take the phone because Eloise's face was on the screen.

Eloise asked in concern, "Victoria, what's wrong? Why are your eyes swollen?"

"Grandma, I'm fine." She wanted to complain but was afraid of worrying Eloise, so she didn't dare.

"She's not fine. She doesn't want to have a wedding and doesn't want you to be a great-grandmother," Alexander said.

Victoria looked up at him in disbelief, thinking, 'Why does it feel like he is the one complaining?'

"Victoria still doesn't want to have a wedding? Then you must not be doing well enough. I don't care, if my she isn't at the wedding on the 28th, you are done," Eloise suddenly said angrily and then hung up the video call.

Victoria stared at the phone screen, forgetting to breathe. After a while, she looked up at him and said, "You upset Grandma."

Alexander was annoyed. "How did I upset her? Wasn't I just saying what you were thinking?"

Victoria stared at him with her big, watery eyes.

Well, it was indeed what she was thinking, but...

Alright, at least she didn't say it.

"You said it, not me." She lowered her head, suddenly not crying, very quiet.

Alexander asked, "I said what you didn't dare to say, and you don't appreciate it and want to shirk responsibility?"

He crossed his arms, his tall figure standing by the bed, looking down at her.

"No, I don't." Victoria hugged her knees, her chin resting on them, feeling weaker.

He had an intimidating presence that was pressing her down.

He picked up her phone from the bedside, turned it on, and asked seriously, "So, do you dare to admit that what I just told Grandma was what you were thinking?"

"Why wouldn't I dare?" Victoria mumbled, but her voice was weak.

"What did you say? I didn't hear."

"I said that was what I was thinking."

Victoria was angry that he always pressured her, but as soon as she looked up, she was stunned.

"Well said." Alexander put away the phone and turned to leave.
