Chapter 891 Am I Your Secret Lover
"You should go to the hotel."
Victoria was silent for a few seconds before casually bringing it up.
Alexander stared at Victoria, "Shoure was supposed to come, but he had to accompany Janaye for a prenatal checkup, so I had to come instead."
"Then you should go."
"I came yesterday. I only came over after finishing my work."
Alexander lazily leaned on the sofa as he spoke to her.
Victoria couldn't suppress the urge to make him leave.
"Mommy."
Just as Victoria was about to ask him to leave again, Strawberry suddenly called out, and Victoria couldn't say anything. She just focused on kissing Strawberry, "My little baby, I love you so much."
Alexander felt a pang in his heart, unable to bear watching them being so affectionate.
They were so close, yet they left him out.
Alexander silently watched them, and suddenly, a strong, wicked thought arose in his mind.
He wanted to see them like this in front of him every day.
Once this thought arose, it was hard to extinguish, until he remembered that he had promised her freedom, and the thought gradually subsided.
Would they never go back to how they were?
Alexander watched Victoria playing with Strawberry, his heart itching and aching.
His face slowly took on a heavy, dark expression.
"How did you catch a cold recently?"
He suddenly asked her with interest.
Victoria felt he didn't need to find a topic to chat with her.
She thought it would be best if he left.
"I just caught a chill by accident. By the way, if you're busy, you should go back. Eve and Frank will be back soon, and I'll ask Frank to bring Strawberry back to you."
"Why make it so complicated?" Alexander said.
Victoria had no immediate retort, but after a while, she said, "We don't mind the trouble."
"Alright, but I do."
Alexander glanced elsewhere, annoyed that Victoria was trying to make him leave. After a moment's thought, he firmly dismissed her suggestion, "Today is the first day. I'll stay here for three days, and then I'll take Strawberry with me."
"Where will you stay for three days?"
"Here, in this house."
Alexander understood that she didn't want him to stay at home.
But he had come, and once they started talking, it felt like they could go on forever—one sentence after another, endlessly.
Once the agreements were broken, things spiraled out of control.
"I don't agree."
Victoria lowered her head and said seriously.
"Mr. Harrington, Mrs. Harrington, dinner is ready."
Desiree came over and spoke.
Victoria raised her eyes, "Okay." Then she continued talking to Alexander, "We agreed never to contact each other again. I don't care if you're in this city, but you can't stay here."
"I hold Strawberry all day, and Strawberry smells like me. If you despise me so much, aren't you also despising Strawberry?"
"I don't despise you two."
"Then why are you making me leave?" Alexander pressed.
"You know why."
Victoria was at a loss for words under his questioning.
"I don't know."
"How could you not know? You said we would never contact each other again."
"Didn't you say? Even through others, we shouldn't have any contact."
Victoria was initially furious, but after his words, she gradually suppressed her anger.
Then she muttered softly, "Since you remember, you should leave quickly."
"Why should I leave? I'm already here, and I've seen you, and we've even talked."
Alexander was unconvinced and stood up as he spoke.
Victoria thought he was going to leave against his will, but when she looked up, he turned to her, "Come on, let's eat."
Victoria sulked.
Desiree was holding Strawberry, and Strawberry immediately called out for her mom again. Just as Victoria was about to take Strawberry, Alexander's tall figure suddenly appeared in front of her, deliberately saying, "Don't get too carried away. Strawberry has been calling me dad for two months now."
This time, both Victoria and Desiree were at a loss for words.
Later, when Desiree took Strawberry out to play, she couldn't help but laugh and mutter to Strawberry, "Your mom and dad are an interesting couple."
Victoria and Alexander sat across from each other at the dining table, but she couldn't help but say, "Leave after breakfast."
"Why? Is your boyfriend eager to come in?"
"I heard Adrian is back too. Isn't he at home nursing a broken heart?"
"Alexander, even if Adi comes, so what? We have nothing to hide."
Victoria didn't understand why Alexander always liked to say such provocative things.
"So we're not hiding anything? Am I your secret lover?"
Victoria was stunned.
What was he talking about?
"If I'm not, then why can't I stay? The whole Harrington family has stayed here. Do I have the plague?"
"Alexander, you are simply..."
Victoria was so angry that she put down her knife and fork and was about to leave.
"Finish your meal before you go."
Victoria was furious, but inexplicably, she picked up her knife and fork to eat.
Sure, she could be angry, but if she didn't take care of herself and ended up with a stomachache, that would just be her own loss.
But later, they became surprisingly quiet.
After breakfast, Victoria was about to go out with Strawberry, and Alexander immediately took her car keys and got in the car first.
Then Victoria stood at the door with Strawberry under the scorching sun, watching Alexander sit in the driver's seat. After a while, Strawberry suddenly leaned towards Alexander, babbling something.
Victoria looked down at Strawberry in surprise, then couldn't help but almost laugh.
Was this the Strawberry that Alexander said had been calling him dad for a long time?
Alexander was stunned, feeling a bit embarrassed.
But later, Victoria got in the car.
If Alexander wanted to be the driver, so be it. If she couldn't carry Strawberry, he could be her nanny.
Thinking this, Victoria felt much more relaxed.
Alexander saw her buying a bunch of things for Strawberry. When he walked to an accessory counter, he suddenly stopped, turned around, and walked in with Strawberry.
Victoria had already walked far away, and when she looked back, she couldn't see them. She suddenly became very nervous and quickly went back to find them.
Alexander was holding Strawberry with one hand and touching a light-colored silk scarf with the other, "Wrap it up."
Victoria saw Alexander and breathed a sigh of relief, walking in, "Why did you come here?"
Seeing the woman's silk scarf he bought, she didn't ask further.
Alexander, however, stared at her unhappily, "I'm not giving it to another woman."
Victoria thought, 'If it's not for another woman, is it for me?'
She didn't care.
"You might need it tonight." He suddenly said.
Victoria's face turned red as he expected within three seconds.
She quickly turned and left the counter.
Preventing him from being deliberately ambiguous.
Alexander walked out holding Strawberry, who was holding the long gift box with the scarf inside. The two caught up with Victoria, who was standing in front of a counter, staring at the suits inside in a daze.
"Are you going to buy it for me?"
"My dad used to love wearing suits from this brand."
Victoria said softly, lost in thought.
After hearing this, Alexander looked inside and then walked in with Strawberry.
