Chapter 913 Kiss Her, Ask Her If He Is Dreaming
Alexander's long, sexy fingers were holding her hand.
Victoria felt her heart being tugged, her long, thick lashes slowly lifting.
But seeing that he hadn't woken up yet, her heart stirred, and she quickly came to her senses, trying to quietly withdraw her hand.
However, even though Alexander hadn't opened his eyes, his hand firmly held onto hers.
That feeling of being forcibly possessed, she couldn't say if she liked it or not. Her nose tingled, and her eyes turned red.
For a moment, everything felt blurry, yet she felt somewhat at ease.
Did this mean he's finally safe?
Diana glanced up by chance and noticed that Victoria seemed to be enduring something. She bent down quietly to look and saw tears on Victoria's lashes. She immediately looked back at her phone without a sound.
Diana just wanted to keep an eye on Victoria for Alexander, so he wouldn't wake up and not see her. Was Victoria unwilling?
If Victoria was unwilling, there was no need to cry.
But when it came to feelings, why force it?
Diana thought that if Victoria had a change of heart, she would let her go.
She didn't have the kind of mindset to be deeply entangled with one person; if there was no hope, it was better to just give up.
Diana suddenly felt a bit irritated, thinking of Curtis Windsor. She felt like she was being too clingy.
She had already done so much as a girl, and Curtis just said she wasn't worthy.
If she was not worthy, then so be it. She no longer cared about him.
With her noble status, why should she cling to a poor teacher like him?
Diana suddenly felt restless and went out the door.
Victoria looked up when she heard the door, but Diana was already gone.
Victoria immediately turned back to look at Alexander lying on the bed. He hadn't woken up, but he was holding her hand too tightly.
As soon as Diana left, she wanted to leave too. She looked down at her hand being held and gently tried to pry his fingers open with her right hand, but she couldn't. She tried a bit harder, but still couldn't.
Victoria looked at him with some disappointment.
The night deepened, and the moonlight outside was mischievous. She saw his dim, unclear eyes.
"Aren't you not coming back?"
Alexander's voice, weak and trembling, questioned.
But it also carried a hint of bitterness.
Victoria's gaze slowly lowered, and she straightened up, "It's good that you're awake. Let go."
Alexander just stared at her intently.
He only pulled her into his arms and held her tightly.
"I'm feeling very dizzy. Don't move. We'll talk when I wake up."
Alexander only said this, then fell asleep holding Victoria.
Victoria, with her back to him, felt his burning body heat and couldn't move.
She was also a bit weak. After a while of holding still, she started sweating all over. Eventually, she gave up her struggle and let him hold her.
When Diana quietly opened the door again, she saw this scene. She carefully closed the door for them, thinking she could now step back.
She had seen on social media that Curtis was in a relationship once more, this time with a fellow teacher.
Diana recalled that Victoria's parents were both teachers and known to be quite loving toward each other.
When Diana was young, she often heard Maximus and Arabella say that having the same profession provided them with shared topics of conversation.
So she and Curtis were destined not to be together for long.
Well, since he's in a relationship, she realized she shouldn't squander her youth any longer. She should quickly find a handsome guy to date, so Curtis wouldn't think she couldn't let go and wanted to mess up his happiness.
"Tori."
"What?"
Before dawn, Victoria was woken up.
At some point, she had fallen asleep in Alexander's arms, holding his waist.
She opened her eyes and saw nothing, only feeling a pair of lips pressing down on her.
Victoria's heart pounded, but he kept kissing her urgently.
Her hand slowly moved to his shoulder, trying to push him away.
"Is it you?"
Alexander murmured, then cupped her face and kissed her again, occasionally saying, "It's too dark. I can't see anything."
Victoria had a bit of strength to think, realizing that it was dark, so he couldn't see.
"Am I dreaming?"
"Alexander."
"Don't ever leave me again."
He murmured, kissing her again, not giving her a chance to say a complete sentence.
She was swept away by kisses, leaving her dizzy and unable to think or see clearly.
It felt like a dream.
She had returned here with just one plane ticket.
She hadn't planned on coming back at all.
But now, not only had she returned, she was in his arms being kissed.
Early the next morning, Arabella and Eloise came to deliver food, and Dean Donald Raymond happened to come for rounds. Donald was genuinely satisfied, relieved to see Alexander on the path to recovery.
Until Alexander asked, "Is it very cloudy today?"
Donald stopped, and Victoria and the others looked at Alexander in confusion. Victoria instinctively glanced outside.
It was sunny.
Early September, it was already bright early in the morning, and it was a bit stuffy.
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
Arabella couldn't help but mutter.
"What's going on? Mr. Raymond, please, check him again carefully."
Eloise, supported by Arabella, was anxious.
Donald said nothing, just stepped forward and waved a pen in front of Alexander, asking, "Can you see what I'm holding?"
"It should be your usual ballpoint pen."
His words immediately made the previously warm ward gloomy.
Everyone held their breath.
Alexander's gaze was a bit unfocused, and he quickly looked towards Victoria, "Come here."
Victoria, in a daze, mechanically moved over.
He reached out, and she instinctively gave him her hand, "You can't leave."
Victoria, already shocked to tears, realized that his eyes weren't focused on her. She looked at Donald, who immediately arranged for tests.
Later, Donald told them not to worry too much; it was due to a concussion and was temporary.
"Are you sure? This is no joke." Arabella asked in anxiety.
She only had one son. If Alexander, so young, suddenly couldn't see anything, then...
Of course, living was most important, but what about Alexander's future? They would certainly give him the best care, but what about him?
He would probably feel very sad.
"Don't worry too much. You all go home. Leave one person here to take care of him and let him rest more."
Donald instructed and left.
Alexander lay back on the bed, but his hand tightly held Victoria's, "You stay."
Victoria, with her heart in her throat, said nothing.
"Sweetie, can you see me?"
Eloise rarely called him sweetie, but now she sat on the other side, worried, her voice trembling.
"Don't worry. Mr. Raymond has assured you. You should go home and rest."
"But..."
Eloise was reluctant to leave.
"Grandma, can you let Tori stay with me? She doesn't listen to me."
Alexander only said this.
