Chapter 1017 Brave Compliance
Victoria suddenly froze.
Her body started shaking violently, her lips turning pale with fear.
Alexander, seeing her reaction, quickly let go and backed away.
Victoria sat up swiftly, curling herself into a corner of the couch, hugging herself tightly, but she didn't make any further movements.
Alexander sat on the floor, helplessly watching her tremble, unable to do anything.
Did she think he was one of those bad people?
Had he been too hasty?
Just moments ago, he thought she was trying to accept him.
He had been too optimistic.
When his phone rang, he answered weakly, "What's up? Yeah, if you need help, ask them."
After hanging up, he looked at Victoria and said, "Edward and Olivia are staying over. They drank and couldn't drive."
Hearing this, Victoria's trembling began to subside.
She regained her composure, remembering that he wasn't one of those who had hurt her.
But still, things had already gone this far.
She was angry at herself for overthinking and pushing him away again.
"Can I come over to you now?"
Alexander waited a moment, seeing her calm down, before asking.
Victoria nodded repeatedly.
Only then did Alexander move closer to her, placing his hand gently on her head, trying to comfort her.
Seeing her guilt, his heart ached even more.
He softly said, "I know you've been hurt a lot. It's okay, they're all in hell now. They can never hurt you again."
His voice was gentle, and Victoria slowly leaned into his embrace.
Alexander looked down at her and whispered, "I won't either. I promise I won't do anything without your consent."
Victoria wasn't entirely convinced, but she stayed quietly in his arms.
"Sometimes it's hard to control myself. You can push me away, but don't be afraid. I promise, as soon as you push me, I'll stop."
He never thought that at over thirty, he'd have to make such a promise, especially to his wife.
He was scared that she'd be frightened again, scared she'd think she was in danger.
Scared she'd be like the day he found her.
So now, he just held her gently, staying quietly by her side.
Soon, he felt a warmth on his jaw that wasn't his own.
She had lifted her head and kissed him.
Even if it was just his jaw.
Alexander looked down at her, incredulous, feeling both frustrated and helpless.
Why was she kissing him now?
If he responded, she'd retreat again.
Alexander didn't know what to do with her, but her lips moved slowly along his neck.
His body leaned back as Victoria kissed his Adam's apple.
He admitted, he was close to losing it.
Victoria didn't know where she was kissing, her fingers instinctively touching, feeling his reaction, and continued.
Alexander held his breath, eyes half-closed, watching Victoria kiss him. He feared he couldn't hold back.
His mind was filled with memories of her teasing him in the past.
She was good at it.
Or rather, he was easily ignited by her slightest touch.
Victoria kissed his neck, his chin, caressing his face, slowly moving to his lips.
She knew she was doing something unfamiliar, but she wanted to show him her feelings.
As long as she could stay here, she would try her best to please him.
"Tori."
She kissed his lips lightly a few times, her tongue just about to enter, when he grabbed her arms and stopped her.
Victoria paused, her face flushed as if on fire.
"No need."
He said, his voice muffled.
Victoria was confused.
He seemed to want it just moments ago, so why the sudden change?
She held his face gently, not daring to use force, and kissed him again on the lips.
Alexander smiled wryly, then caressed her back, slowly responding to her.
When he got serious, she quickly couldn't handle it.
Alexander placed her legs around his waist, kissing her as gently as he could.
But when he guided her hand to his belt, she froze.
"Don't force yourself, okay?"
Alexander looked at her panicked, embarrassed expression and reminded her.
He had no intention of forcing her.
If she wanted to stop, she could at any time.
Victoria didn't stop. She placed her other hand down.
But she couldn't undo it.
When Alexander guided her hand to undo it, her mind went blank.
She touched it briefly and immediately pulled away.
She couldn't do it.
She retreated.
It wasn't something she was familiar with.
She knew his intense kisses and touches, but the idea of making love with him made her heart about to leap out of her chest.
Alexander's lips brushed her cheek, not kissing further.
Seeing her struggling, he softly said, "This is already a big step forward. We'll take it slow, okay?"
Victoria listened to his gentle reassurance and nodded.
She thought that he knew she was trying, and that was enough.
She quietly exhaled, then felt his kiss on her forehead.
She obediently let him kiss her, her breathing becoming gentle.
Alexander only felt that Victoria was too soft and fragrant, but still, he felt a bit regretful.
Then he picked her up, reminding her, "Hold on tight, don't fall."
Victoria, though embarrassed, cooperated this time, wrapping her legs around his waist and holding his neck as he carried her out of the room.
As they neared their bedroom, Adrian happened to come out of his room and quickly went back in, closing the door.
Alexander caught a glimpse of Adrian's fleeting figure but thought it was fine.
If Adrian didn't see how loving they were, he'd always live in his imagination.
"Are you sleepy?"
Alexander asked as he carried her towards the bathroom.
Victoria shook her head against him.
She thought she wasn't sleepy, just a bit dizzy from the alcohol.
She realized they were entering the bathroom and couldn't help but tense up.
Alexander, sensing her tension, explained, "Just a bath. I promised I wouldn't force you, okay?"
Victoria didn't speak, just lowered her head nervously.
She was almost out of breath.
Alexander felt her face burning, nuzzling her gently, comforting her.
Victoria couldn't describe her feelings, wanting to get it over with, but also terrified.
When the water started running, she visibly tensed.
He could easily undo her buttons, one by one.
