Chapter 656 Isabella, Get Out of the Way

"Yeah, it's true. She wants to kill me," Isabella said, looking all pitiful.

"Isabella, are you nuts?" Edward asked, frowning.

"Eddie, I'm not nuts," Isabella said, sounding like a total wreck.

"Then what the hell are you talking about?"

They might believe other things, but saying that Victoria committed murder? Who would believe that?

Victoria had always been a peace-loving hermit; no way she'd do something like that.

"She said it herself. If you don't believe me, ask Frank," Isabella quickly explained.

Alexander turned around, his eyes unreadable as he looked at Isabella.

She did look scared, but what was the real deal?

The real deal was his wife had a nightmare, lost her appetite, went all neurotic, and even...

Alexander quickly walked forward again.

Isabella was confused; it was like he couldn't even hear her.

"Alexander, I didn't want to mess up your lives, but out of nowhere, she said she wanted me dead," Isabella caught up to him, talking as she walked.

"Isabella."

"I'm here."

"Get lost." Alexander's patience was shot. Actually, it had been shot for a while.

Isabella was stunned by the "get lost"; it stung bad.

He used to be so careful with her, making sure she didn't get hurt.Isabella quickly started crying. But Alexander didn't care and kept walking.

Honestly, he'd rather Isabella bug him than mess with Victoria again. So, he didn't say anything harsher.

Before Isabella could catch up again, Edward pulled her back, "You need to stop."

"Stop what? I'm about to die," Isabella snapped.

"Isabella, are you out of your mind? If you are, I can take you to a doctor right now."

"What do you want to do?" Isabella shook him off.

Edward couldn't help but mock, "What can I do? Have the doc check your brain, see why you keep bugging Alexander. We could've stayed friends, but now..."

"So you think I shouldn't be alive, right? You want me dead, don't you?" Isabella was shaking, tears streaming down.

"Why would I want you dead? You're just using death to threaten people. Isabella, you're such a letdown," Edward said and walked off.

Shoure had already left with Alexander. He wasn't that close to Isabella, especially after seeing her true colors.

Of course, Shoure knew he was lucky to get away clean because he had no value to Isabella.

Sometimes, it was better not to have any value.

After the three of them sat down and ordered at the restaurant, Edward spoke up when he saw it was pretty empty, "What's Isabella up to now?"

"Isn't there a big party for the Montgomery Group on Christmas?" Alexander suddenly said.

Edward and Shoure looked at him, puzzled. Alexander casually poured coffee for the three of them, then held his cup, staying quiet.

"What do you mean?"

"Find some time to invite that guy to Frosty Summit Hotel for a meal," Alexander added.

Edward and Shoure looked at him without asking anything.

They'd known Alexander too long, so they got what he was thinking.

Alexander was planning to take down Isabella.

This time, it wouldn't be a small move. It'd be a total takedown.

Before, they thought if the Montgomery Group's board backed Arthur more, Isabella would focus on them. But nope, Isabella's mind was somewhere else entirely.

In other words, Isabella never took those folks seriously; she thought she could handle them no problem.

Edward sighed, thinking, 'Does Isabella really think she can win over those old dudes just by using her body?'

Not everyone was driven by lust. And even if they were, it didn't mean they were not picky.

Isabella's private life was a total mess, so messy that he once heard someone in a nightclub next door joking about her. An old man laughed and said, "We wouldn't dare sleep with Isabella; who knows what diseases she might have, that would be terrible."

Edward sighed again, "She's really lost it."

Alexander didn't say anything more. Once the food was served, he ate quickly, needing to handle the afternoon's stuff so he could get home early to be with Victoria in the evening.

When Victoria left the VicLiv office in the evening, a car from the Harrington Mansion picked her up.

Felix stood at the company entrance and said, "Mrs. Victoria Harrington, Mrs. Eloise Harrington made some soup and insists you come back tonight to have some."

"Okay," Victoria replied.

She thought maybe she should stay at the Harrington Mansion afterward.

The elders seemed really worried about her.

To keep them from worrying all the time, maybe staying at the Harrington Mansion was the best move.

If she stayed there, Alexander could work in peace, not having to worry about her being bored or not eating well.

Because at the Harrington Mansion, Eloise would never let her be bored.

Alexander knew she liked being with the elders.

Right now, being with the Harrington family elders was probably the best thing for her.

Frank was still by her side. She turned and said, "Frank, you can get off work early today."

"I'll drop you and Felix off at home first, then I'll leave," Frank said.

"Alright," Victoria didn't argue.

When it came to her kid's stuff, she was never careless.

Having Frank around did make her feel a lot better.

It was drizzling outside, and by the time Felix drove to the Harrington Mansion, it was already dark. The raindrops pattered on the car, and Felix said, "It's gonna get even colder tomorrow."

"Yeah," Victoria agreed, hoping that this winter, there'd be someone to keep her warm.

When they got home, Mason immediately held an umbrella by the car and helped her open the door, "Mrs. Harrington, there you are."

Victoria smiled and nodded, following him inside.

Felix drove away.

As soon as Victoria walked in, she saw a girl sitting in the living room.

Eloise saw her come in and immediately said, "Victoria, why are you back so late? Are you cold? Come over here, I have something to warm your hands."

"How sweet." Victoria walked over, genuinely touched by what Eloise had prepared for her.

"Mr. Bryant is here too, and Ms. Bryant, it's been a while."

"Hello, Mrs. Victoria Harrington. I'm now working in the public relations department of the Harrington Group, learning from Penelope," Daisy explained.

Victoria just smiled and nodded, saying, "Penelope is known for producing talent."

"She's not really talented; she just doesn't want to work in our family business, saying it's not challenging," Jerome interjected.

"That's true," Daisy muttered softly.

Arabella was a bit unhappy seeing Daisy being spoiled in their home, but seeing that Victoria didn't mind, she had to hold back.

Jerome then said to Victoria, "I heard you're pregnant, congrats."

"Thank you," Victoria nodded in gratitude.

"Mrs. Victoria Harrington, will you be returning to the company in the future?" Daisy asked, eyeing her.
