Chapter 248 A Drunken Mistake
Unintentionally, Alexander drew her fingertip into his mouth. The sensation elicited by this act left Victoria momentarily speechless. She could only gaze in a daze as he ate the strawberry she held in her hand.
After he was done, Alexander carefully placed the discarded strawberry stem back onto her palm, whispering, "No one eats strawberry stems."
She remained silent, her mind echoing his words. 'No one eats them overseas, either,' she mused.
Their attention was momentarily diverted by a commotion in the movie they were watching.
As Victoria watched the protagonists exchange longing glances, she felt a firm grip encircle her waist. A warmth spread across her midriff, and though she attempted to shift, her movement was restricted by the hand holding her in place. Left with no other choice, she sat there in silence, awkwardly continuing to eat the strawberries she held.
Alexander's gaze lingered on Victoria for an extended period, but she remained unresponsive, her attention seemingly engrossed in the movie.
His phone rang, breaking the silence, and he glanced at the device resting on the table before answering it with a hint of exasperation, "What's the matter?"
"I noticed your lights were on, and I have an abundance of tonics at my place. I thought I could bring you some," came the voice from the other end.
"We probably don't need your tonics. Thanks, though." With that, Alexander ended the call.
Meanwhile, Isabella sat in her living room, her gaze fixed on the table laden with tonics. Suddenly, she was overcome with rage and swept them all onto the floor.
Sebastian, who was sitting beside her, was taken aback by her outburst. "What are you doing now?"
"Your child is gone, and it's all because of that woman. How can you be so indifferent?" she spat out.
"What?" Sebastian froze.
"It's all Victoria's fault, otherwise your child wouldn't have died."
"Isabella, I've always known that this child wouldn't last," Sebastian said.
Isabella looked at him in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"How could you possibly have my child? Even if you really ended up with Alexander, you would have found a way to get rid of this child."
Isabella frowned. She didn't expect Sebastian to guess her intentions.
"We made a mistake while we were drunk, I admit, but what did Victoria do wrong?" Sebastian asked her.
"What did she do wrong? Are you saying she isn't wrong, and it's all my fault?" Isabella stared at the young man before her, who had been secretly in love with her all this time. He was looking and obedient, always siding with her, but now he was claiming that Victoria was innocent.
"That's not what I meant. It's just that Victoria is innocent." Sebastian's thoughts of Victoria spilled out.
"Do you like her too?" Isabella felt a wave of betrayal, and they were all because of the same woman.
"How could I like her? She's Alexander's wife," Sebastian refuted.
"Go away. Get out of my house." Isabella pointed towards the door, her voice raised in anger. She couldn't maintain the gentleness she had when speaking with Alexander on the phone.
"Fine, I'll leave." Sebastian got up and made his way towards the exit.
"Seb, please, please help me." Isabella suddenly caught up to him and hugged him from behind.
Outside, a light drizzle began to fall, and Isabella pleaded humbly with Sebastian.
"What can I do for you?" Sebastian lowered his head and looked at the hands hugging him. He finally softened.
"Would you go after Victoria? Just ask Alexander to divorce her, use whatever means you can use."
"What?"
"Or maybe just like when we were on our trip. It could be just a drunken night and a drunken mistake." Isabella proposed seriously.
