Chapter 998 You Can Find Another Man
Victoria didn't dare push him any further.
She didn't know what had happened to make him cry.
He was a man, after all.
Although men have the right to cry too, Victoria found it a bit strange.
Too many women around, gone crazy?
Victoria sat there silently, unable to eat or drink.
Eve thought Victoria still seemed reserved; she didn't even dare to sit more comfortably on the sofa.
But Eve also felt that at least she wasn't struggling in fear anymore, which was a good sign.
Everything would get better.
Whether it was Victoria's heart or her eyes.
And why wasn't she speaking?
Frank said it was probably psychological.
In a place like that, no one knew how much she had suffered.
Eve went outside. Frank had just finished a phone call. Seeing her standing at the door, he walked over and asked, "What's wrong?"
"I don't know if Mrs. Harrington's eyes will ever see again."
She murmured.
"With modern medicine being so advanced, and since it's due to an injury, it should be fine."
Eve looked up at Frank, who was comforting her, and couldn't help but smile and say, "You know how to comfort people."
"I don't comfort others."
Frank said while checking the surroundings, finally looking at her face with genuine sincerity.
Eve didn't say anything more; she knew what kind of person Frank was.
They didn't leave the hotel all day until the evening.
He took Victoria to a private room with an ocean view for dinner.
Although she couldn't see, he held her by the window and told her, "In front of us is the ocean, which you love."
Victoria listened silently, unable to imagine what the ocean looked like.
Until the window was opened, and the wind immediately blew in.
It was a bit chilly. She instinctively raised her hand to touch her arm, but felt his strong arm instead.
Alexander looked at her silently, then held her tighter and whispered in her ear, "The tide is coming in tonight."
The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks was powerful.
Victoria couldn't hear it, but she smelled a scent different from the usual wind, probably the smell of the sea.
That smell was different from the one in the fish tank.
She listened quietly, wanting to hear the sound of the sea breeze and waves, but it seemed difficult.
Later, they ate together, and he said it was all her favorite food.
Victoria thought the food tasted pretty good; others would probably like it too.
But she had eaten too much that day and felt a bit full, yet she didn't dare to refuse.
After dinner, the Harrington Mansion called again. Arabella asked him, "How is your wife feeling today?"
"Very stable."
Alexander said, looking at her.
Since the afternoon, he had been with her and hadn't left.
"That's good. We are all very concerned about her. Your grandmother still hopes she can come back to live with us. When you're not home, we can take care of her, and you can be at ease."
"Maybe in a while."
He politely declined.
He didn't want her to go anywhere else right now.
He thought she preferred a quieter environment.
Alexander then realized that he had never really considered things from her perspective before.
He always thought about what he wanted, what he had insisted on for so long, and what he deserved.
Now, looking at her, he only felt that he had been too selfish.
The Harrington Mansion.
Eloise asked Arabella, who had just hung up the phone, "How did it go? What did Alexander say?"
"He doesn't want to let Victoria come back to us."
Arabella smiled and said.
Arabella thought Alexander had a tough fate, but it was his fate after all.
As a mother-in-law, she hoped her son would be well, and naturally, she hoped her daughter-in-law would be well too. If one weren't well, it wouldn't work.
Eloise sighed, "Alexander has changed a lot since Victoria came back."
"He has grown a bit after going through so much. Let them be alone for now, but remind him not to lose his temper so easily."
Brett pondered and said to everyone.
"Brett, he wouldn't dare lose his temper."
Arabella defended Alexander.
"I'm just afraid he can't control it."
Brett reminded.
Arabella fell silent at this.
Eloise said, "I'm just worried about Victoria's health. She's so frail now. Should we take her to see Valentin Dobbins again?"
Valentin was a renowned doctor whom Eloise knew.
Brett and Eloise naturally hoped Victoria could regain her sight, but Brett said, "You should discuss it with Alexander first."
"If Alexander doesn't agree, we'll go secretly. Victoria can't see now anyway."
Arabella said.
She couldn't change Alexander's decision, but if it was for Victoria's good, she didn't care about Alexander's opinion.
Diana came downstairs with a bag and overheard this, immediately lightening her steps.
Arabella noticed her, "Where are you going so late with a bag?"
"Huh? It's not late. It's only nine."
"Nine isn't late?"
"I have plans with a friend."
Diana came down and sat on the sofa, hugging Eloise and complaining, "Grandma, look at Mom. She controls me so strictly. No wonder I don't like coming back."
"Your mom wouldn't harm you. Where are you going? To see a boyfriend?"
Eloise asked Diana with a smile.
"No, just a friend."
Diana looked a bit embarrassed.
Eloise said, "You're at the age to get married. Alexander already has a child. If you have a boyfriend and are serious about marriage, bring him home for us to see."
Diana understood clearly that Eloise wanted her to be serious about marriage.
But she wondered, did he see her the same way she saw him?
"Okay."
She agreed reluctantly but said nothing more.
Arabella thought about the person she had met and wondered if he was dissatisfied with Diana or their family background.
"So there is someone?"
Brett asked with interest.
He knew a bit about it, but Diana had never admitted it.
"Grandpa, why are you making it hard for me, too?"
Diana hugged Eloise, burying her face in Eloise's shoulder in embarrassment.
Arabella, seeing Diana's daily melancholy, knew that person wasn't treating Diana well and couldn't help but say, "If you're always the one suffering in this relationship, you can find another man."
