Chapter 854 Stinging Pain

"Shoure is here."

Victoria anxiously explained.

"What if he's not?"

"If he's not, you can see how this desk performs."

Victoria thought she must be out of her mind, but she decided to get Alexander to leave first.

"You said it."

Alexander confirmed with her.

"You have my word."

Victoria gritted her teeth, thinking that any delay would be beneficial.

Alexander looked into her clear eyes and felt she was up to something before he turned around.

He had originally planned to take her out with him, but he figured she couldn't run away in the office anyway.

Victoria, seeing him walk away, quickly jumped off the desk. With nowhere to escape, the only place she could go was the lounge.

Alexander watched as she ran into the lounge like the wind, a slight smile forming on his lips as he opened the office door.

"Would you like to sign this urgent document first?"

"When did you get here?"

Alexander furrowed his brows, took the document, and asked thoughtfully.

"Before you carried Victoria out of the elevator."

Shoure, though embarrassed, spoke with sincerity.

Alexander clenched his back teeth, flipped through the document, and quickly signed his name with a flourish.

Shoure left, but the lounge door was slightly ajar, and Victoria's face peeked out. Seeing Alexander approach, she softly reminded him, "I told you he was here, didn't I?"

"He just got here."

"Impossible."

Victoria was momentarily stunned, but upon careful recollection, she was sure she had seen Shoure.

Alexander, hands in his pockets, leaned against the door frame, smiling at Victoria's peeking face. He couldn't resist leaning down to kiss her on the lips.

What?

Victoria snapped back to reality. How did she get kissed?

She had just been thinking about seeing Shoure, convinced she wasn't wrong.

Alexander, still with his hands in his pockets, laughed even louder after the kiss.

"Mr. Harrington, we're at work."

"Ms. Kensington, I'm glad you remember that, come on out."

Alexander nodded and spoke to her gently.

Victoria smiled, too, "After you."

Alexander nodded cooperatively and turned to walk away.

Victoria straightened up and prepared to dash out in another way.

But she hadn't run far before Alexander quickly turned and blocked her path.

"Alexander, it hurts."

She hadn't even fully processed what was happening before she was in his arms.

"Are you trying to avoid me, huh?"

Alexander wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. At that moment, he felt like a mischievous boy who had succeeded in his prank, holding the girl he liked without any burden. He lightly threatened, "If you keep avoiding me, I'll tie you up and make love to you right here."

Victoria, feeling uncomfortable from his grip, angrily reminded him, "You can't seduce your secretary during work hours."

"If this secretary weren't my wife, do you think I'd seduce her?"

Alexander kissed Victoria's cheek and then lifted her into his arms.

By the time Victoria came to her senses, she was already sitting on his desk.

Suddenly, she remembered his earlier comment about "seeing how this desk performs," and her face turned red. "Alexander, I need to get back to work."

"Victoria, you owe me one."

He murmured, holding her slender waist with one hand and kissing her.

In the evening, after work, Victoria saw a car parked outside the office building. "Ms. Kensington?"

Victoria was surprised to see Diana but walked over anyway. "Diana."

"I brought Adrian to pick you up for dinner."

Diana suddenly said.

Adrian was sitting in the passenger seat.

Victoria didn't say much and got into her car.

"I've called Alexander. He'll join us later."

Diana said after Victoria got in the car.

Victoria sat in the back, feeling nervous upon hearing that Alexander would be joining them. Today, Alexander had been kissing her whenever he had the chance, and she couldn't avoid him.

However, she was quite surprised to see Adrian.

"You must be very familiar with Adi. I had wanted to invite him to Metro House for a gathering as soon as I got back, but he's been very busy. So, I went to his filming location to bring him out," Diana continued.

Victoria was certainly familiar with Adrian, but she didn't understand why Diana felt the need to fetch him in person.

Was Diana just having a meal with Adrian?

Given Diana's usual demeanor, if she truly wanted a family reunion, she wouldn't have invited her.

Victoria's mind flashed back to Alexander's words about Diana meeting with Daisy.

Daisy knew some things about her and Adrian.

Adrian glanced at Victoria through the rearview mirror, smiled slightly, and softly asked, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

Victoria responded but didn't say much more.

Adrian turned to look out the window again.

He felt that Ankenra City suddenly seemed so unfamiliar.

The person he liked was right behind him, yet he didn't dare to look back.

He had always avoided going to the Harrington Family Old Mansion because he couldn't face her.

He was afraid he couldn't let go and might accidentally reveal his feelings, pressuring her.

He didn't want Alexander to argue with her because of him.

He pretended to forget and not to care.

But his heart hurt too much.

So when Diana found him today, he could no longer convince himself that he didn't want to see Victoria.

Finally seeing Victoria, Adrian felt a sense of fulfillment but also a bit of dissatisfaction.

In the most luxurious private room of the Frosty Summit Hotel, Diana smoothly took the menu and started ordering dishes, showcasing her independence and authoritative nature.

Victoria only ordered a soup and then watched Diana and Adrian seriously order their food.

Alexander hurried in, handed his coat to a waiter who approached him, and then sat down next to Victoria. "Have you all been here long?"

"We just finished ordering," Diana said.

Alexander glanced at Diana and softly reminded her, "You should meet fewer of those unsavory people, especially when you're with Strawberry."

"I knew Eve was Victoria's spy."

"She called me. Do you still not understand whose spy she is?" Alexander reminded her.

Diana felt hurt that Alexander always defended Victoria in front of her.

Alexander glanced at Adrian and asked, "How did you find the time to come out?"

"Just finished work," Adrian replied, then said, "I'm going to the restroom."

He couldn't hold back seeing Victoria.

He hurriedly grabbed his coat and went to the restroom, only to light a cigarette.

His hands were trembling even as he lit the cigarette.

No wonder Victoria was so miserable during her time in Elysium Country.

It turned out that arguments were much better than lonely longing.

Adrian smoked forcefully, trying to calm himself.

But Victoria seemed to dislike the smell of smoke.

Adrian trembled and took another drag, and his eyes stung.

Seeing that Adrian hadn't come out for a long time, Diana looked at Victoria and said, "Victoria, aren't you very familiar with Adi? Go check on him and see why he's taking so long."
