Chapter 413 Clinging to Him Even When You're Almost Dead

Victoria, blushing, struggled to breathe, her heart pounding like thunder.

His gaze was scorching, almost as if he could burn her.

---

On the first floor of Regal Retreat, Alexander led Victoria into Benjamin's house by the hand.

Indeed, they were brothers, and the room layouts were similar, with a cold color scheme.

However, as soon as they entered, the room fell silent.

Benjamin, Edward, William, Sebastian, and Isabella were all present.

Isabella sat alone on a sofa, feeling extremely uncomfortable when she saw them holding hands.

She couldn't shake the feeling that Victoria and Alexander were doing it to humiliate her.

"You didn’t mention you were bringing Victoria," Edward said first.

"Just give my cutlery to Victoria," Alexander replied nonchalantly.

As soon as they arrived, Benjamin stood up. "Mrs. Harrington, we meet again."

"Mr. Beaumont." Victoria nodded.

Benjamin's manners were impeccable.

Sebastian also stood up and greeted, "Hello."

Victoria nodded slightly.

Some superficial courtesy had to be done.

Isabella, looking up at Sebastian who was standing up, a fleeting conspiracy crossing her mind. She immediately said, "Seb, didn't you mention you admire Victoria before?"

Sebastian was a bit flustered. But when he looked at Victoria, he just smiled and said, "You can call her Victoria. But I have to call her Mrs. Harrington. I admire her for being so organized at a young age, allowing Alexander to focus on expanding his business."

Victoria was surprised by his words but politely smiled in response.

"Sit down and talk. I'll go prepare dinner," Benjamin said.

"I'll come too," Sebastian echoed.

Sensing the tension, Benjamin and Sebastian hurried to the kitchen.

Isabella still felt that something stuck in her heart. She sat straight, staring at the woman sitting next to Alexander.

Victoria's hand was on Alexander's leg, his fingers playing with hers.

There was a wedding ring on her finger.

Isabella thought, 'Not many days left for this woman to be smug. There is not many days left.'

Edward and William just watched the scene, curious about whom Alexander would support in a fight between the two women.

"Are you still feeling unwell today?" Alexander suddenly showed concern.

"I'm much better today," Isabella replied eagerly.

Everyone turned to look at her.

Alexander chuckled. "I was asking Victoria."

"What? Are you asking Victoria? What's wrong with her?" Isabella also looked at Victoria, trying to show some concern.

"She's fine, just experiencing menstrual cramps," Alexander replied.

"What?" Isabella was stunned.

Alexander said calmly, but Isabella's face turned ugly. She couldn't help but curse inwardly, 'She isn't pregnant. If I had known, I should have made sure that man got her pregnant.'

If the news of Mrs. Harrington's messy personal life, cheating in marriage, and even getting pregnant and going for an abortion were exposed, Victoria would be ruined totally.

Isabella regretted a bit, feeling she was too stupid and soft-hearted.

"A while back, there were rumors about you two going to the gynecologist. I thought Victoria was pregnant. Unexpectedly, she still has her period," Isabella said in a strange tone.

Every word Isabella said now made Victoria want to hit her even more.

But Victoria held back, smiling faintly. "I'm having my period. Why do I feel like you seem quite disappointed?"

"Disappointed? Why would I be disappointed? I hope Alexander to be happy," Isabella replied.

"You want him to be happy, yet you're clinging to him even when you're almost dead?" Victoria retorted.

Isabella's face turned pale as if she had been slapped a hundred times.
