Chapter 944 What's Wrong with Being a Kept Man?

"Diana."

Diana was about to leave when Curtis called out to her, and she stopped instantly.

But after a long while, there was no further sound from inside. She thought it was her imagination, so she turned around and ran back in, leaning against the dining room door. "Did you call me?"

"I made too much breakfast. Do you want some?" Curtis asked.

"Sure." Diana was instantly excited and hurried forward.

"Wash your hands first," Curtis responded calmly.

"Alright." Diana put down her bag and went to wash her hands.

During breakfast, Curtis's phone rang. He glanced at it and answered, "Mr. Harris, what can I do for you so early?"

"I am indeed single. Alright, I'll stop by before class."

After he finished speaking, he hung up the phone and continued eating.

Diana hated it when he didn't tell her the content of his calls, and she was anxious. After a few seconds, she asked, "Who was that? What did he want?"

Because the topic of being single was mentioned, she couldn't help but be anxious.

"Mr. Harris wants to introduce his niece, Leah Harris, to me." He answered.

Diana took a bite of her food, but it tasted like nothing.

"Do you have any other questions?" He asked again.

"What does Leah do?" She probed.

"She just graduated and doesn't have a job yet," Curtis said.

"Any more questions?" Curtis asked once more.

Diana had a lot of questions, so she continued, "Does Leah's family background match yours?"

She felt a bit unsure at this point.

She had never hated the concept of matching family backgrounds so much.

To him, it was even more important than having compatible values.

"More or less. Her parents are my colleagues." He replied

"You're going to date your colleague's daughter?" Diana couldn't accept it.

"It's not like we're getting married," Curtis explained.

Diana couldn't take it anymore and put down her utensils to leave.

Curtis raised an eyebrow helplessly, and soon he heard the sound of high heels returning.

"I forgot to tell you, my current date also teaches at the university. I'll go see him later, and I'd appreciate it if you could check out his character for me." She claimed.

This time, she really left, fuming like a gust of wind.

After she left, Curtis put down his utensils.

Then there was a loud bang.

Accompanying the loud bang was Diana's sharp voice, "You don't even know how to close the door. You really are open to anyone, aren't you?"

Curtis chuckled again and then picked up a spoon to drink his soup.

Diana felt humiliated. At 10:30 AM, she was walking down the hallway outside Curtis's classroom with a handsome teacher.

When Curtis finished his lecture and looked up, he saw the people passing by the window.

Sure enough, as Diana had said, she was standing next to a handsome teacher.

Diana and the handsome guy, Andre Wallace, stood by the window chatting for a long time. After class, Curtis walked out calmly and smiled as he approached, "Is this the date you mentioned?"

"Curtis, do you know each other?" Andre asked in confusion.

"Yes, but we're not close," Diana spoke first.

Curtis glanced at her but didn't expose her lie.

"Diana, Curtis is quite popular at our school. Many female students have a crush on him." Andre remarked.

"Really? But I don't care if he is being crushed on. I'm only worried about you being taken by another woman." Diana pretended.

"My body and soul are clean. I belong only to you." Andre replied.

"That's disgusting." Diana turned and walked away.

Andre caught up to her, "Diana, my mom told me to give it a try with you. She said your family is wealthy. With your favor, I'd be set for life."

"You like being a kept man?" Diana asked.

"What's wrong with being a kept man? Some people want to be one but don't have the chance." He replied.
