Chapter 879 Alexander Holding His Phone in Aggrieved Silence Late at Night
Alexander was about to put down his wine glass when he paused.
"Have you settled in?"
Olivia asked while video chatting with Victoria on her phone.
"Yes, I just got settled. Why are you still out so late?"
"Tessa and Benjamin are getting married, and we're here to write their invitations," Olivia explained.
"Congratulations to them. I won't disturb you then. We'll talk later."
"Okay."
Olivia glanced at Alexander but agreed.
Olivia thought, 'Victoria must have known Alexander was there, which is why she hung up so quickly.'
Alexander returned to the Harrington Mansion and saw that the light in Diana's room was on, so he went to knock on the door.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm leaving."
Diana said while packing her luggage.
Alexander had no choice but to walk in, "Why are you leaving right after you just got back?"
"I don't know, but I don't like staying here anymore."
Diana suddenly felt that she didn't understand the situation at all.
She disliked Victoria, but that didn't mean she could watch Victoria suffer.
"About Victoria..."
"Do you consider her your wife?"
Diana's question left him stunned.
"Alexander, if a man hurt me, what would you do?"
Diana suddenly asked.
Alexander frowned slightly, "Did someone hurt you?"
Did Diana come back because she was unhappy outside?
"No, I just felt something seeing Victoria suffer."
"Alexander, you are someone who makes people feel insecure."
Diana said and continued packing her luggage.
Alexander returned to his bedroom, but looking at everything inside, he remembered that Victoria had forgotten to pack her things from the Harrington Mansion.
But he had already blocked her.
After washing up, Alexander lay on the bed holding his phone, secretly unblocking Victoria, and then placed the phone on his chest.
He wanted to make this call to remind her that she had left some things behind.
But then he recalled that night when he told her he would help pack her things and send them over.
He suddenly sat up, his eyes dark and unclear.
Pack her things over?
Alexander's heart suddenly started racing.
But then he slowly lay back down.
Victoria didn't want him anymore.
Alexander suddenly felt extremely melancholic, even a bit petulant, his vision blurred.
How dare she not want him.
He turned over, breathing in frustration and grievance.
After returning to Elysium Country, Victoria found that Melissa had also come back.
Melissa went to Victoria's house and first saw Arabella feeding breakfast to Strawberry.
Arabella turned around.
"Melissa, when did you get here?"
"Just yesterday. I heard from Diana that you and Victoria were here, so I came to see you. Where's Victoria?"
"She's not feeling well. I told her to sleep more. You sit down first."
Arabella said and continued feeding Strawberry.
Melissa sat next to Arabella and picked up Strawberry from the stroller, and Strawberry was confused by the two almost identical people in front of her, looking at one and then the other.
A servant went to pour coffee, and Melissa, holding Strawberry, said, "Strawberry has gotten a lot heavier."
"Yes."
Arabella responded, and patiently feeding Strawberry.
Melissa couldn't help but ask, "Arabella, was it Adi's fault this time?"
"There's no right or wrong, just young people's unstable emotions. Let's not interfere." Arabella said softly.
"Adi feels very guilty, almost to the point of shutting down."
Melissa continued to speak sadly.
Arabella looked up at Melissa, "He ran off with Victoria, and now he's shutting down?"
"Arabella, you know I spoiled him since he was young."
"Didn't I spoil Alexander? Whose child isn't their mother's treasure? If Adrian is shutting down, how aggrieved must Alex be? His cousin tried to take his wife several times, and he had to endure it."
Arabella immediately retorted Melissa.
Due to her happiness with Maximus, Melissa, and her husband had to move abroad, so Arabella always felt guilty. The whole family was extra tolerant of Adrian, but that didn't mean Adrian could be so inconsiderate.
"I know Alexander has it tough too, but Arabella if he and Victoria had a good relationship, no one could come between them. If they were good, why would Victoria try to escape?"
"If you're here to say things that upset me, then leave. I don't want to hear it."
Arabella angrily put down the bowl and took Strawberry from Melissa's arms.
"Fine, I won't say it. I'm sorry, okay? I fell deeply in love with Adi's father later on."
Melissa lowered her head like a child who had done something wrong, mentioning it to Arabella as if unintentionally, but sincerely trying to resolve the conflict between them.
Arabella choked up slightly at this and didn't drive her away.
"By the way, how long are you staying here? You haven't stayed at my place yet." Melissa mentioned.
Arabella remembered their childhood when they used to sleep in the same bed every night.
"What's so hard about going to your place? I'll go with you later."
"Great."
Melissa immediately nodded happily.
Arabella felt even more torn inside.
Arabella didn't take Strawberry to Melissa's place. When Victoria woke up and had some breakfast, she went to play with Strawberry.
As soon as Victoria went out, she felt like she was being followed.
Victoria felt a bit panicked, looked back, and saw no one, but pretended to be calm as she pushed Strawberry and turned around.
She decided to just play around the house.
Although there were many people with her this time, she didn't bring any bodyguards or male attendants.
Before lunch, she checked the surveillance around the house and, after confirming there were no issues, went downstairs.
A servant saw her looking worried and asked, "Are you missing Mr. Harrington?"
Victoria, holding Strawberry and basking in the sun at the door, tried to smile but firmly responded, "No."
She was just a bit paranoid.
She thought she might have been scared by those people.
Previously, Isabella had sent people to hurt her. What about this time?
Isabella was in prison, and Daisy was married.
But Victoria was full of doubts because being in prison didn't mean no communication, and being married didn't mean no divorce.
She just hoped she was being paranoid.
"Mrs. Harrington, a call from the Harrington Mansion."
Another servant ran to the door and handed her the phone.
Victoria took the phone and saw it was Mason, puzzled as she answered, "Hello, Mason?"
"Mrs. Harrington, Mr. Harrington asked me to check if you wanted everything from the Harrington Mansion packed and sent over."
"What?"
"Mr. Harrington said you might need some things."
Mason, sweating in the air-conditioned room, stood next to Alexander, who insisted Mason make the call.
"When did I say..."
Alexander stopped himself just in time.
Victoria heard Alexander's voice.
