Chapter 49 A Woman Should Not Let Herself Be Wronged

Isabella spoke with concern.
Victoria smiled slightly without saying a word.
A bright red luxury sports car suddenly stopped not far from them, "Victoria, get in."
Victoria glanced at it and quickly walked over.
Adrian didn't pay them any attention. After Victoria got in, he immediately leaned over to help her fasten her seatbelt.
Victoria looked up at him and said softly, "Thank you, but I can do it myself."
Adrian didn't say anything; he just started the car and left.
"That seems to be... Adrian Harrington?"
"Um."
Alexander also started his car and left.
At the traffic light intersection, the two cars were side by side. Alexander glanced at her.
She was looking down; she seemed to be thinking about something, but she was definitely not happy.
He felt frustrated. As soon as the light turned green, he immediately drove off.
Only then did Victoria look up, but she couldn't see anything.
There were rumors in the company that their newly-appointed CEO was young, promising, decisive, and had impeccable integrity. Over the years, there was only one woman for him, Isabella.
The weather was a bit gloomy. Victoria decided to go to the hospital.
Adrian stopped the car, "Then I won't accompany you there. Shall we contact each other later?"
"Um, thank you."
She thanked him politely again, then got out of the car.
Adrian watched her haggard figure, feeling a sourness in his heart.
The man she loved was just playing with her, so why was she still upset?
It was simply not worth it.
Adrian felt increasingly stifled and spent the night sweating on the tennis court.
Victoria went to the hospital to visit Old Lady Harrington. Old Lady Harrington was almost fully recovered. Seeing her still so calm and gentle, she couldn't help but mutter, "Vicky, Grandma knows you've been wronged. If you're upset, cry it out. Don't keep it in your heart; it will make you sick, okay?"
"Grandma, I haven’t been wronged."
Victoria cut the peeled apple into pieces and handed it to Old Lady Harrington with a fruit pick.
Old Lady Harrington took it and looked at her, "Haven’t been wronged? That stinky boy proposed divorce as soon as he came back. You like him so much, but he..."
Old Lady Harrington couldn't finish her sentence.
She had facilitated their relationship, but now that boy had another woman.
"Vicky, Grandma won't give that woman a chance, don't worry."
Old Lady Harrington comforted her again.
Victoria smiled as she spoke softly, "Grandma, it's okay. Alexander never liked me. He married me out of responsibility. Now that he has someone he likes, I can let him go."
"Vicky, what about you?"
"I... I want to go back to M country."
She looked at Old Lady Harrington, a bit worried that she would be upset, but she thought that this might be the most appropriate time.
"Go back to M country? You have no relatives there; why would you go back?"
"I grew up there, Grandma."
Victoria explained to her gently.
Victoria felt there was nothing hard to understand.
"Vicky, do you know? If you go back to M country to avoid that boy, you're wronging yourself. As women, we should never let ourselves be wronged in our lives, so, as your grandma, I don't agree with you leaving. I also don't agree with your divorce. He is your husband, and I will make sure he remains your husband forever." Old Lady Harrington held Victoria's somewhat cold hand as she declared this.
"Grandma, actually Miss Montgomery has already..."
"Knock, knock."
Victoria was about to tell her about Isabella's pregnancy when there was a sudden knock at the door.
"Come with me."
The tall and straight man quickly came to her, grabbed her wrist, and led her out of the ward.
