Chapter 589 Can You Love Me One More Time

Alert, Victoria quickly called out to him, "Alexander, what did you just do?"

Alexander turned back, looking serious. "I just recorded what you said. If anything happens to Grandma, you should take the responsibility."

Victoria's head was buzzing non-stop.

She thought, 'He is too cunning. How can he be so shameless? Tricking me into saying those things, just to avoid taking responsibility.'

Just as Alexander was about to leave, Olivia knocked on the door and came in. "Victoria, your mother is on the phone."

Alexander smiled faintly upon hearing this and turned to leave.

Olivia handed the phone to Victoria, who was suddenly too scared to take it. She asked, "Could it be Grandma's blood pressure?"

"What?" Olivia, unaware of what had just transpired between Victoria and Alexander, was puzzled.

Victoria, trembling, answered the call. Hearing Arabella's voice, she carefully put the phone to her ear, whispering, "Mom."

"What did you two say to your grandma? She's suddenly crying and saying she wants to die?"

"We..."

"Alexander can't even keep his wife. I've already spread the word that they will have a wedding, and now Victoria doesn't want to. Go break Alexander's leg. You, you..." came Eloise's voice.

"Mom, Mom?"

The other end of the line suddenly turned chaotic.

Victoria's face turned pale with fear as she held the phone.

Seeing her expression, Olivia was also frightened and asked, "What happened?"

"What on earth is going on? The wedding menu is ready, and friends have been invited. What did you say to your grandma? Mom, don't scare us. They will have the wedding. If you don't believe me, ask Victoria." Arabella's voice came through again.

Eloise's weak voice soon followed. "Victoria, is it true? Will you have the wedding?"

"Grandma, we will," Victoria said softly.

Olivia, sitting by the bed, quickly understood what was going on.

In this world, there were always people who could make her compromise.

Just like Olivia had unpleasant times with her parents, but when her father was diagnosed with heart disease, all the unpleasantness vanished because nothing was more important than a family member's health.

Later, they all prepared for the invitations together, and Victoria personally wrote two for Olivia and Tessa.

When Alexander went to see his friends off, Edward couldn't help but say, "You should be more gentle with her."

"That's right. You were so scary. I was frightened too." Tessa couldn't help but softly agree with Edward.

Sometimes the scariest thing wasn't someone yelling at you, but someone using a low voice to grasp your vulnerabilities.

"So, are you guys leaving or not?" Alexander was irritated.

He regretted it so much now and just wanted them to leave quickly so he could go and comfort Victoria.

Victoria sat on the couch, behaving herself.

She neatly placed the invitations on the table into a box and then silently stared at the invitations inside the box.

She thought, 'Am I really going to have a wedding with him? Last time, we almost had a wedding but encountered many issues. Are we really suitable for a wedding?'

Victoria felt that maybe even God didn't want them to get married.

When Alexander came back, she didn't look up, just curling up on the couch.

Alexander sat next to her, and she didn't move.

"Sorry," he suddenly said with guilt.

Victoria turned to look at him, curiously asking, "Sorry for what?"

"I shouldn't have said those things," Alexander said seriously.

Victoria said, "I thought it was about Grandma."

Alexander looked at her fragile appearance, finding her calm eyes as bright as stars.

Victoria asked, "Did you message Grandma before the video call?"

Alexander's heart skipped a beat, and he looked away.

Victoria immediately understood from his evasive look but didn't say anything more.

Alexander quickly looked back at her. "Are you angry?"

Victoria turned her head towards the window, resting on her knees, and said nothing.

What good would being angry do? He always had a way to deal with her.

Maybe she didn't need to struggle much. If it were fated to not have a wedding, no matter how much they prepared, it wouldn't happen, just like last time.

While thinking about these, Victoria felt her body was being lifted; but seeing it was him, she remained silent.

She didn't move much, and Alexander tucked her hair behind her ear, saying softly, "How about I let you bite me a few more times?"

His tongue still hurt, but if it could make her feel better, he didn't mind it

He rolled up his sleeve, revealing his strong arm in front of her.

Victoria looked at it, didn't hesitate much, and bit down on his arm.

But his arm was too hard, her teeth hurt, and he didn't make a sound. She got tired and slowly let go.

There were several clear bite marks on his arm, and two of them quickly started bleeding.

Alexander asked in a deep voice, "Is that enough? Bite a few more times."

Victoria let go of his arm. "No way."

"Why not?" Her aggrieved look made Alexander's heart ache.

"What if you take a picture and say I abused you?" Victoria asked softly.

Alexander couldn't help but laugh, then hugged her.

He was really helpless; this wasn't the result he wanted.

What he wanted was just...

He didn't know how long it had been, but he looked down at her gentle long lashes and her pitiful eyes, "Silly girl, even if you abused me, I'd be willing."

Victoria complained, "But you threatened me with Grandma's health; you recorded what I said."

Alexander was too scary.

If he sued her, she'd be done for.

Alexander sighed helplessly. He just wanted her to give in and have the wedding with him.

"Victoria," he suddenly called her.

Victoria hesitated for two seconds but still looked up at him.

No one could call her name more movingly than he did.

"Do you still love me?" he suddenly asked.

Victoria's mind went blank, and she just stared at him, unable to answer.

Did she still love him? No, she definitely didn't.

Everything around her became silent and desolate, and her heart slowly sank into endless dampness.

After a while, she came back to her senses, lowered her head, and said in a low voice, "I don't love you anymore."

"Can you love me one more time?" Alexander looked at her with his deep eyes, pleading, "Just one last time."
