Chapter 916 The Car Has Been Tampered With

Everyone considered it an accident until Victoria raised her doubts.

"Could it be that Daisy and Isabella had a falling out, so Isabella did something to Daisy's car to kill her?"

Elliot quickly formed a hypothesis.

Victoria stopped there and said no more.

After all, there was a man in the room who held Isabella in high regard.

Alexander sat on the bed, not having said a word so far.

"Isabella had murderous intent towards Daisy?"

Elliot was shocked by his speculation.

If it weren't for the fact that Isabella had once kidnapped Eloise from the Harrington family, he wouldn't have dared to think that the gentle Isabella he once knew could be a killer.

Now that he had this suspicion, he could only wait for Victoria and Alexander's reactions before making a decision.

Victoria turned to look out the window. The cause of the accident needed to be investigated, but it was up to Alexander to decide.

If Alexander accepted that it was just a regular traffic accident, what could anyone else say?

Isabella only got five years for what she did, and she would eventually be released, possibly even sooner than they thought.

Not long after Elliot left, Frank came in from outside.

"The car was tampered with."

Victoria had gone out and returned just in time to hear this.

Seeing Victoria return, Alexander didn't ask further and simply replied, "You may leave."

"Yes."

Frank hesitated at the door but eventually walked away.

Victoria then said to the person outside the door, "Please come in."

Alexander looked towards the door and saw a young, efficient-looking girl walk in.

The girl had no excess fat, was fit and simple, with no elaborate makeup, and her ponytail was neatly tied at the back. She wore the hospital's caregiver uniform.

"This is the caregiver I hired for you. She's a girl, and her mother is hospitalized here. She needs to earn money for food, so don't be too harsh on her."

"Alright." Alexander agreed.

Seeing that Alexander didn't seem displeased, Victoria left the caregiver with him and departed.

Unexpectedly, she ran into Jerome downstairs. Jerome was very polite when he saw her and said, "Daisy is immature. I thought that getting Daisy married would stop her from clinging to Mr. Harrington. Mrs. Harrington, we've known each other for so long, and I hope you two have a long and happy life together. Please always believe that."

"This has nothing to do with me, Mr. Bryant. I have other matters to attend to, so I'll be leaving."

Victoria simply greeted him and left.

She was indifferent to Daisy and Alexander's affairs.

She had already given up on Alexander. She didn't care who he spent the rest of his life with.

Alexander could choose whatever life he wanted; he had excellent judgment.

He had his reasons for getting into Daisy's car.

Victoria went to the hotel across the street and booked a room. She planned to get a good night's sleep.

"Could you please book a room for three days? Thank you."

A man suddenly spoke next to Victoria. He looked gentle and refined.

Seeing her look at him, the man nodded. After the clerk gave them their room keys, their rooms were next to each other, and they had no further interaction.

Soon, the man's phone rang. He glanced at it and hung up immediately.

"Diana."

It wasn't until the man muttered this name that Victoria couldn't help but look at him again. Seeing his forlorn smile, she quickly lowered her eyes to hide her thoughts.

She slept until it was dark.

She woke up because of the noise from the next room. "Didn't you say you didn't want to see me?"

"I don't. My fiancée will be moving in soon."

"Curtis, I will never come to see you again, even if you beg me!"

Diana slammed the door in anger.

The soundproofing between the rooms was poor.

Victoria lay on the bed, silently thinking that Curtis and Diana knew each other.

At that moment, Victoria's phone rang. She answered it and quickly ran outside.

When she arrived at the hospital, Eloise was already sitting inside. Seeing her, Eloise immediately asked, "Victoria, where did you go?"

"I went to have a cup of coffee."

Victoria glanced at Alexander. Seeing that he didn't seem to accuse her of abandoning him, she found an excuse and walked in.

"If you want coffee, just have them bring it to you. It's hot outside, and you're not in good health. Don't wander around."

"Alright, I'll have them get it next time."

Victoria nodded in agreement.

Eloise held Victoria's hand and sat on the edge of the bed. "Alexander said you were only gone for half an hour, but from his expression, it seemed like you were gone for half a year."

"Grandma, don't say that."

"Am I wrong?"

"I felt like she was gone for a century."

Victoria rolled her eyes at Alexander, not wanting to engage with him.

Eloise, however, laughed.

"I brought dinner and fruit. You two should eat."

Eloise called the person standing at the door with the basket to come in and set up dinner. Victoria's stomach growled with hunger.

She hadn't had a proper meal in days.

The past few days, she couldn't eat because she was worried about Alexander in the ICU. Today, she collapsed into bed and fell asleep right away.

Soon, Diana walked in from outside. Seeing Eloise, she immediately called out, "Grandma, can you find me a fiancé?"

"What?"

Eloise was startled and looked at Diana.

"I want to get married, Grandma. I want to get married. Just find me a decent man."

Diana decided to give up on Curtis and marry someone else.

"You can't get married casually." Alexander scolded.

"Didn't you marry Victoria casually? Why can't I marry casually?" Diana retorted.

Alexander smiled, "We didn't marry casually."

"Then what was it?"

Diana didn't believe him.

"We thought it through carefully," Alexander replied.

Diana felt even worse.

Victoria, however, was skeptical and thought. 'Alexander, did you think it through before getting married?'

Eloise listened to Alexander and couldn't help but look at Victoria. Then she held Diana's hand and asked, "Did you come back this time because you broke up with your boyfriend?"

"With my bad temper and good family background, how could I have a boyfriend?" Diana muttered.

"How can you say that? What's wrong with your temper? When he marries you, I'll give you more property. But if he thinks your temper is bad, then we can't marry such a person."

"What if he feels intimidated by my family's background?"

"Then we can't marry him."

Alexander said from the bed.

Diana turned to look at him, "Alexander!"

With that one word, both Eloise and Alexander knew that Diana had someone in mind.

"You can't not support me. Otherwise, I'll be single forever, and you'll be in trouble."

Diana suddenly looked at Victoria and remarked.

Victoria smiled, "Alright."

"Alright, what? Don't meddle in her affairs."

Alexander looked up at Victoria and said.

Victoria stared at Alexander for a few seconds before reluctantly saying, "Alright."
