Chapter 708 Do You Still Want Her?

"If she forgets everything, would you still want her as your mom?" Alexander sat on the steps, holding Strawberry, mumbling to himself.

Strawberry had no clue what he was saying, just looking around, bored out of her mind. She didn't want to stay on the steps anymore; it was so dull.

Alexander noticed Strawberry's restlessness and sighed, "Let's wait until she comes out, then we'll go."

Strawberry immediately waved her hands and stepped on his leg to pat his face.

Alexander let her be, then quickly heard urgent footsteps behind him. He picked up Strawberry and turned around, annoyed, "You wanna carry her downstairs?"

"I want to use the elevator," Victoria said, taken aback.

But if he didn't want her holding Strawberry, she'd try.

"Using the elevator costs electricity," Alexander said.

Victoria was stunned. Her eyebrows furrowed, and she took small steps over to take Strawberry from his arms, saying firmly, "I'll pay for the electricity."

"I don't think you should stay here too long, after all, we already..." Alexander said, giving her a meaningful look.

"I get it," Victoria glanced at him. He just didn't want her using his stuff anymore.

"Then send me the money later," Alexander reminded.

Victoria turned to look at him. What was wrong with him?

Just because they got divorced... Fine, she could understand. Some guys were stingy with outsiders. But he wasn't like that. He was definitely targeting her.

Victoria carried Strawberry into the elevator, and Alexander followed. Victoria blocked the door, "If I'm paying for the electricity, why do you need to come in?"

"Wherever my daughter is, I am. What if I lose sight of Strawberry for a second and someone hides her again?" He finally said it.

"I've been living in Elysium Country, although I haven't mentioned it, but..."

"What?" Alexander looked at her, puzzled.

Victoria didn't continue. She thought to herself, 'forget it.'

She didn't want to see him anymore; he had given her freedom.

Whatever she said now would be wrong.

Whenever Strawberry was with Victoria, she had a habit: her face would press against Victoria's neck, and her hand would grab Victoria's collar.

Victoria silently glanced at her, then calmly turned around.

Alexander frowned. What was she hiding?

In this house, he could see her from every angle. But he hated this feeling, the feeling of her avoiding him.

"Mr. Harrington, I was just about to call you. We have a guest," Alfred said as they exited the elevator.

Alexander questioned, "What guest?"

So early in the morning.

"It's Mr. Adrian Harrington," Alfred explained.

Hearing it was Adrian, Alexander's face immediately darkened, and he strode outside.

Victoria knew Adrian made Alexander unhappy, but suddenly she didn't want to move forward.

Alexander turned around, "He's here to see you, right?"

Victoria, holding Strawberry, didn't want to respond. But then he suddenly came back. "You should go see him."

Victoria felt empty and a bit unhappy as Strawberry was suddenly taken away. She looked at him.

"Honey." She felt a chill down her spine and slowly turned around in disbelief.

Alfred and two maids nearby were also stunned.

Adrian said with a beaming smile, "I finally found you."

Victoria looked at him, not knowing what to say, and her hand was suddenly grabbed.

"You have no idea how freaked out I was. The doc said your back's acting up again. Don't just stand there; let's find a spot to sit and chat."

"Adrian." Victoria called out, trying to stay calm.

"Alexander, I need to talk to my wife alone," Adrian said, noticing Victoria's resistance.

"Do whatever you want, just not in my house," Alexander snapped, holding Strawberry as he headed outside.

Victoria panicked, "Where are you taking my daughter?"

Alexander stopped, turned around, and looked at her with disgust, "Since you already have a husband, I'm sure you can have other kids. You'll forget about Strawberry then." He walked away.

He also noticed Adrian holding her hand. Matching rings? Seriously?

He stormed off with Strawberry.

"Alexander."

"Victoria." Adrian grabbed her before she could chase after him.

Victoria turned to him, suppressing her emotions, "Are you nuts?"

"No." Adrian slowly let go of her hand.

"If not, then what are you doing?" Victoria asked, then ran after Alexander.

"If you run after him like that, he'll just think you still like him," Adrian said, trying to stop her.

"I don't care what he thinks. I just know that if you keep this up, he'll make me lose my daughter!" Victoria shook off his hand and walked outside.

"I told him we got married," Adrian admitted.

"Adrian, didn't we already clear this up?" Victoria was desperate. She stopped, turned to face him, and asked.

She knew Adrian had mentioned it because Alexander had mumbled about it in a daze on her bed that day. But she thought she had said everything that needed to be said and more in her living room that day.

She was really grateful for everything Adrian had done for her, but gratitude was just gratitude, not love.

"But I still want to try. I look a lot like Alexander. If you can love him, you can love me too."

Adrian suddenly got slapped. The nearby maids were stunned.

Victoria, more clear-headed than ever, looked at Adrian's face, which turned red from her slap, "I will never fall in love with my ex-husband's cousin!"

Adrian was shocked, tears in his eyes.

The Victoria he knew was gentle and never laid a hand on anyone.

"Besides Strawberry, I don't want anyone else." Victoria thought he should calm down now.

"You want me to leave, don't you?" He murmured, looking pitiful.

"Yes, and we should never see each other again," Victoria said coldly.

Adrian couldn't accept it.

After leaving, Adrian's mind went blank. She said they should never see each other again.

She said such words to him, with such a heartless look.

Could he never win her over?

Even now, was her heart still with Alexander?

Adrian, heartbroken, slowly drove away.

Victoria dialed Alexander's number, "Where did you take Strawberry?"

At that moment, she realized that she couldn't care about anyone else but her daughter.

If anyone tried to stop her from being with Strawberry, she wouldn't hesitate to deal with them.

"The office building. I have a meeting at ten and can't take care of Strawberry. You can come and take care of her."

"Okay." Victoria immediately hung up.
