Chapter 783 What's There for Him to Miss?
"Mom said Strawberry had a high fever and you brought her here."
Victoria was already full of questions.
What was going on?
Why was Alexander here?
And why did Barbara say Strawberry didn't come?
"Aren't you gone?"
He just whispered that.
Victoria was stunned.
She felt something was off with him.
She had just seen Richard. Wasn't he here to treat Strawberry? Was it Alexander who was sick?
"What's wrong with you?"
She tried to speak again, her eyes filled with confusion as she looked at him.
What illness did he have?
Richard had already left, but Edward came back and suddenly called her, "Victoria, come here."
"Okay."
Victoria glanced at Edward, then at Alexander, and finally walked out, "Mr. Sinclair."
"Alexander is in a hopeless condition. Take good care of him, make sure he eats a few more meals, and let him die peacefully."
"...What are you talking about?"
Victoria's calm eyes looked at Edward, gradually starting to show signs of worry.
"Spend more time with him, or he won't even be able to eat. It's too tragic."
Edward shook his head and mysteriously left.
Victoria suddenly felt weak in her legs. Before she fell, she quickly supported herself against the wall and then looked at Edward's departing figure.
Her heart trembled. She was scared.
Too tragic?
Gravely ill?
Die peacefully?
"Who told you to come back?"
Suddenly, a voice questioned from inside the room. Though he was out of breath, it was clear he was very angry.
Victoria looked up, her clear eyes staring straight at the angry man, murmuring, "What's wrong with you?"
"I asked, who told you to come back?"
"Alexander."
"Who allowed you to come back?"
Alexander suddenly came up to her, gripping her shoulders and suppressing his anger as he questioned her.
"Mom said Strawberry had a fever."
She softly repeated.
In Alexander's dark eyes, there was a burning intensity, which seemed to find a reason he could finally believe and accept.
Victoria felt the grip on her shoulders gradually loosen.
Then her shoulder was pressed against him. He used some force, and it hurt a bit.
But she didn't react at all. Instead, his tall body, for some reason, slowly seemed to collapse.
When she realized something was off, she immediately raised her hand but only managed to grab his elbow.
He suddenly fell in front of her, his head resting against her abdomen.
"Alex..."
Such a tall figure just curled up on the ground in front of her.
Victoria was stunned for a moment, then mechanically squatted down, enduring the pain in her waist to push him, first gently, then heavily, "Alexander, Alexander... someone, someone!"
She became nervous. She remembered Edward's words and hoped he was just teasing her.
——
When Alexander woke up again, he was already in the hospital.
After opening his eyes and seeing the hospital room, he sighed irritably, but then that figure appeared in his mind again.
Was it Victoria?
Before he fainted, he heard a woman calling him.
It was Victoria's voice, and she seemed very anxious and nervous.
Alexander gradually focused on the ceiling light, then weakly looked around.
Besides him and the machines, there was nothing else making any noise in the room.
Was it a dream?
"It's almost New Year's, and he's still causing trouble. Alexander, are you awake?"
Arabella pushed the door open and came in, muttering. When she turned around and saw Alexander's eyes open, she immediately approached.
Alexander's thin lips moved, but he didn't ask.
Victoria must have left.
That must have been his hallucination.
She wouldn't stay.
She didn't want him, or them.
Maybe it was Arabella calling him at home today, and he just had a hallucination.
He was truly in a hopeless condition, and Victoria wasn't worth his longing.
There were so many women in the world waiting for him to choose from, what was there to be nostalgic about?
"Alexander, are you delirious from the fever?"
Arabella saw him silent, with tears in his eyes, and couldn't help but worry.
Clearly, Dr. George Griffin said he just had a fever, but now he looked...
"I'm your mom, do you still recognize me?"
Arabella suspected Alexander had amnesia.
Alexander's thin lips moved, and his breath was hot, he tried to make a sound, but his throat seemed blocked, so he remained silent.
"Mr. Griffin, Mr. Griffin..."
Arabella was terrified, hesitated for a while, then turned to call George.
Alexander heard that voice and thought of the woman at home, it must be Arabella.
He suddenly found himself ridiculous.
If he truly forgot Victoria, he shouldn't find himself ridiculous.
He shouldn't react when he thought of Victoria or others mentioned her.
He shouldn't have emotions or any fantasies, that would mean he truly didn't love her anymore.
Alexander thought he could do it.
The moment she boarded the plane today, they were completely over.
She even signed that kind of agreement with him.
"Mr. Harrington is awake, Mrs. Harrington is still downstairs getting a back massage, she should be up soon."
A nurse walked in and said.
Alexander's ears hurt, and before he could react, he turned his head towards the nurse.
"Who did you say?"
"What?"
She was suddenly tense, scared by him.
"Which Mrs. Harrington is getting a back massage?"
"Your wife, of course."
She was so scared that answered slowly.
Alexander suddenly got out of bed.
Arabella and George walked in together, and as soon as they entered, they saw a figure darting out without even wearing shoes.
"What was that?"
Arabella was startled.
"It looked like Mr. Harrington."
George said.
The nurse by the bed whispered, "It was Mr. Harrington."
"Isn't he... what's wrong with him?"
Arabella was even more nervous.
But after the nurse explained, she suddenly calmed down.
"Looks like he's fine."
George, with his steady temper, asked Arabella.
"He still knows to look for Victoria, so he's fine."
He scared her at first, Arabella thought her son was so sick he had amnesia.
She suddenly remembered something and couldn't help but look at the door, "Oh no, I forgot to tell him I tricked Victoria into coming back."
Everyone else was stunned.
Tricked?
——
Downstairs in the massage room.
"This isn't an old injury, as long as you take good care of it, it will heal. Don't do heavy work at home, don't lift heavy objects. I know you have a baby, but when holding the baby, be slow and careful, make sure not to strain it again, don't... Mr. Harrington?"
"What?"
Lying on the bed, Victoria heard "Mr. Harrington" and looked questioningly at the nurse, Jennifer, who was accompanying her.
Seeing Jennifer already standing up and looking at the door, she also turned to look.
The man who had fainted in front of her a few hours ago was finally awake.
George said Alexander fainted because of low blood sugar and a high fever.
His gaze was still as cold as ever, but he took long strides towards her.
Victoria instinctively tried to get up, but he hoarsely ordered, "Don't move."
"Alright, the therapy session is almost over anyway."
"Almost isn't good enough, you leave."
Alexander ordered again.
