Chapter 679 Granddaughter
Adrian was totally holding a little girl.
Even though the kid had her back to the camera, it was pretty clear...
And yeah, Adrian was rocking a ring on his finger.
Alexander stared at the pic, almost forgetting to breathe.
"Isn't he and Victoria..."
"No way."
Alexander put down his phone, got out of bed, and headed to the bathroom.
Victoria was all over him in his dream last night, and now she had a kid with another dude?
And she...
No freaking way.
The kid looked like she was about two or three years old.
Right, Adrian must be filming, and that was just a child actor. The wedding ring? Just a prop.
All fake.
As Alexander walked into the bathroom, he suddenly felt dizzy, grabbing the sink for support, his tall and strong body slowly bending down.
He tried to shake his head clear, but when he looked up, his bloodshot eyes couldn't see anything clearly.
As he fell, the scene that flashed in his mind was that moment.
He was stabbed, and Victoria looked at him in disbelief.
Half of her face was covered in blood, but what was more terrifying was the look in her eyes when she saw him.
Her eyes were filled with confusion, disappointment, despair, and then she cried...
In the fancy hospital room.
In front of the hospital bed, there was a convo between Eloise and Arabella.
"I just wanted to scare him, give him a sense of crisis, didn't expect him to react so strongly."
Arabella wiped her tears in fear and mumbled.
"And he still pretends not to care every day."
Eloise looked at the still unconscious Alexander with heartache, but seeing Arabella wiping her tears, she only comforted, "Don't cry, the doc said it's just emotional fluctuations and a bit of low blood sugar, nothing else."
"He's so young, how could he faint, Mom, do you think he has some other illness?"
Arabella was really scared.
Her son had been sick before, but fainting...
Arabella turned to look at Alexander lying inside, he was gradually waking up.
Alexander sighed helplessly, touched his forehead, and said in a hoarse voice, "Don't worry, I won't die."
"Alex, you're awake."
Arabella immediately turned around, looking at his haggard appearance, she couldn't bear to scold him.
"You were crying, how could I not wake up?"
Alexander raised his hand to wipe her tears, then said softly, "Why did you call Grandma here?"
"You're the treasure of our family, once you fainted, it's natural the whole family came to visit you."
Eloise explained.
Alexander suddenly fell silent again.
Why did he faint?
In his mind, Victoria's disappointed eyes appeared again, something seemed to rush to his head, then press on his eyes, making them sting and turn red, hot and swollen.
She now...
The elders left when they saw he was fine, Edward came to see him in the afternoon and Janaye happened to bring some documents for him to sign, even asking, "Ms. Shaba is still working."
"Mr. Sinclair, hello."
Janaye nodded in greeting, knowing he was just making small talk.
"Ms. Shaba, hello. Ms. Shaba, please go ahead."
Edward was very polite.
And Janaye was very cute.
Janaye went in with the documents first and while Alexander was looking at them, she said, "Mr. Harrington, the new factory abroad is about to start, the person in charge over there asked if you would like to cut the ribbon, they hope you can be there to boost morale."
"No."
Alexander said indifferently, finished reading the documents, and reached out for a pen.
When Janaye handed him the pen, Edward, chilling by the window, asked, "Is it in Elysium Country?"
"Yep."
Janaye answered right away, hoping Edward would help convince him.
She figured Victoria was over there, and if Alexander went, they could meet.
Edward asked again, "Which day exactly?"
"Wednesday."
Janaye replied instantly.
"Then stop hesitating, book a ticket for Alexander."
Edward said.
Janaye held her breath, looking at Edward for a bit, then at Alexander.
Alexander handed the documents and pen back to Janaye, then looked at Edward with a blank face, "Why book a ticket?"
"Just think of it as a trip to chill."
Edward said.
Alexander was quiet for a moment, but still firmly said, "Not going."
"Really?"
Edward reminded him seriously.
Alexander was silent for even longer this time, but eventually still firmly said in a low voice, "Not going."
Alexander's hand trembled slightly, then he immediately lay down, saying, "You leave, let me have some peace."
Edward and Janaye left, and in the hallway, Janaye asked Edward, "Should I still book the ticket?"
"Are you dumb?"
"What?"
"Of course book it, if he doesn't go, you don't have to pay for it, but if he wants to go and you don't have a ticket, think about it."
Edward reminded her.
If she didn't have a ticket, would Alexander fire her?
Book it, she had to book it.
"Mr. Sinclair, do you think Victoria is really still alive?"
"What kind of dumb question is that? Of course, she's alive and kicking."
Edward saw her so worried, he couldn't bear to let her guess anymore.
"Really? But, almost everyone says she's dead."
"That's because the kidnapping was caught on camera, Victoria was seriously hurt at the time, leaving the impression she wouldn't make it."
Edward explained again.
"I see, anyway, as long as she's alive, it's good."
Janaye hugged the documents tightly, at this moment, she didn't understand that even though she tried hard to smile, tears still overflowed.
She missed Victoria.
Victoria's voice was always soft, even when angry, there was no unpleasant emotion.
She always seemed so positive, but...
Janaye hoped Alexander would attend the opening ceremony, she hoped he couldn't resist looking for Victoria, and then...
They would realize they still couldn't let go of each other and then come back together.
"You go first, I have a few more words to say to him."
"Okay."
Edward suddenly felt he had to say a few more words, so he turned back to the hospital room.
Alexander was looking at his phone, hearing the door, he immediately stuffed the phone under the blanket, looking at the returning person, "Why are you back again?"
"According to reliable info, Adrian has a daughter."
"Do you know what you're saying?"
Alexander remembered the reason for his fainting, immediately not wanting to hear such words.
Was everyone trying to force him to find Victoria with this trick?
Edward crossed his arms, walked slowly to his bedside, and cautiously said, "A friend of mine met his mom abroad, she was holding a little girl who seemed too young to walk, saying she was her granddaughter."
