Chapter 695 Drunkenly Calling Victoria

That morning, when Victoria came downstairs, there was a familiar square box on the table.

Ankenra City, airport.

As soon as Adrian got back to the city, Ava and Ivan were there to scoop him up, while Alexander and Shoure took off in another direction.

They hadn't gone far when they heard a bunch of footsteps behind them.

The second the big star hit the ground, he was swarmed.

Shoure glanced back and couldn't help but sigh, "What's so special about him anyway?"

Alexander, all sharp in his black suit, hopped into the car and immediately called Janaye, "Get all the higher-ups together, meeting in half an hour."

Shoure had just tossed his bag in the car. Hearing Alexander, he turned, "What meeting?"

Alexander didn't answer, just sat there like a block of ice in the back.

Shoure started the car and left the parking lot, still scratching his head over the meeting.

"Oh, did you give Victoria her stuff back yesterday?"

"I had someone send it."

Shoure frowned.

The meeting dragged on all day, lunch was a quick bite in the conference room, but Alexander didn't seem to care.

It wasn't until a female exec, who'd recently been in a car accident and hurt her back, dropped her pen and couldn't pick it up, that she quietly asked the person next to her, "Could you please pick up my pen? Thanks."

Alexander looked at the woman and a familiar voice echoed in his head. He finally closed his notebook, "Let's wrap it up."

Soon, the conference room was empty except for him.

When his phone rang, he glanced at it, stood up, and answered while walking, "Where? I'll be right there."

At the club, Benjamin, Sebastian, and Edward were smoking, looking bummed out.

Alexander sat there, stone-cold sober, and said lightly, "We're all grown-ups here. They don't have to meet to prove that their relationship is already in the past."

No one said a word.

Everyone thought Alexander had a problem.

They'd given him excuses, but he still didn't show up. What did that mean?

It could only mean he hadn't moved on.

The door creaked and the guys all looked over.

Thinking it was staff, Edward said, "Come in."

The door slowly opened.

So they quickly realized it wasn't staff.

Then a white dress hem appeared, followed by a youthful face, "Hey."

It was Daisy.

Daisy didn't say anything, just stood inside the door against the wall, quietly waiting.

She was definitely waiting for someone to invite her to sit.

But the guys just stared at her, their minds blank, then all looked at Alexander, who had been silent the whole time.

He was just looking down at his phone, seemingly dealing with something urgent.

Edward shifted slightly, realizing Alexander was playing a mobile game.

Edward sighed helplessly, "Are you gonna let her in or not?"

"What does it have to do with me?" Alexander said indifferently.

"Sorry." Sebastian smiled and stood up, not wanting to embarrass the girl, so he walked over and escorted her out.

Standing outside, Daisy softly said, "Mr. Montague, is it wrong to go after someone?"

"Hard to say." Sebastian smiled.

Seeing his smiling eyes, Daisy couldn't help but feel frustrated and lowered her head, "Even if Victoria isn't dead, it's still in the past, right? I'm not trying to be a homewrecker."

"Please leave."

Sebastian thought Daisy wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Her family's business had already had its contract with the Harrington Group axed, yet she still had the guts to show up.

But now, how would Alexander shake off this persistent Daisy?

After all, there were no more excuses.

Daisy was stubborn. She knew she was a catch, so why wouldn't Alexander even give her a glance?

She thought there must be a way.

Her mom said he was probably on this trip to finalize his divorce.

His private lawyer was tight-lipped, but after some persistent questioning, it was clear they were indeed divorced.

So, she was dead set on chasing Alexander.

She had wanted to go after him for a long time.

After Sebastian came back, Alexander tossed his phone aside. Edward glanced at it and suddenly said, "What's Adrian bragging about now? Something about his wife buying him a belt, what's that about?"

Sebastian walked over and took a look, muttering, "Adrian, his wife?"

Benjamin stayed quiet. With Sebastian's hint, he naturally got who had posted what. He just looked at Alexander with a mix of emotions.

Alexander seemed not to hear, leaning over to grab a drink, "Weren't we gonna drink?"

No one spoke, but they all joined him.

Alexander never got drunk.

Even when Victoria left, he always stayed sober.

But that night, he actually drank too much.

On the way back, Edward drove while Benjamin sat next to Alexander, watching his desolate expression. Edward couldn't help but ask softly, "Where should we take him?"

"Yeah, where to?"

"Victoria." Alexander suddenly murmured.

Benjamin and Edward immediately looked at him seriously.

Alexander's body slowly leaned to the side and the two just watched without helping.

He looked elegant even when he was drunk.

Edward thought for a moment, "Olivia should have Victoria's number."

"What time is it over there?" Benjamin asked.

They understood each other and Edward quickly took out his phone and called Olivia, who immediately gave him a number.

Edward looked at the number, then at Alexander, "If I call this number, I'm not sure what will happen."

"It might be earth-shattering," he added.

Benjamin smiled faintly. Although he had always wanted to see his friend half-dead over a woman, now that the day had come, he felt a bit reluctant.

"It should be around ten in the morning over there. Calling now shouldn't disturb anything."

"Then what are you waiting for?" Benjamin glanced at Edward.

Edward then pressed the number and chose to dial.

It connected, but no one answered for a long time.

Edward frowned and couldn't help but ask, "Could it be that Victoria saw the domestic number and refused to answer? Is she that heartless?"

"Try again." Benjamin thought, maybe she just didn't hear it.

"Did you see the snow?" Alexander murmured, moving slightly and burying his face in his arm.

Edward cursed inwardly, unable to stand Alexander's usually mighty and domineering image now acting like a lovesick puppy, whining about the snow, so he immediately dialed again.

Benjamin also couldn't stand it, staring at Alexander, even though he had covered his face.

The call was answered and Edward, covering the receiver, squatted in front of Alexander, speaking softly, "Alexander, it's Victoria's call."

A gentle voice came from the other end, "Hello, who is this?"

"Victoria."
