Chapter 371 She's Just Pretentious
Victoria glanced at the man who stood up with a serious expression.
Alexander also narrowed his eyes, thinking, ’He's quite bold to raise his voice at Mrs. Harrington in front of everyone.’’
James also realized he had been too loud and immediately cleared his throat, "The money has been received, never have I taken payment without doing the work."
"What does that have to do with me?" Victoria asked angrily.
James frowned. "Mrs. Harrington, of course it concerns you. My task is to design a wedding dress for you."
"The mistress of the Harrington family doesn't have to rely on me. He will find another one for you," Victoria replied.
Victoria glanced at Alexander and decided to leave.
"Hey, hold on! The email I got was about designing a wedding dress for someone named Victoria. Just so you know, don't waste my time. My rate is a hundred thousand per minute," James shouted.
"What?" Victoria was stunned. ‘A hundred thousand per minute?’
Adrian unconsciously touched his lower lip, focusing intently on the two.
‘’Mrs. Harrington seemed surprised, which is good. If she cares about money, he should have just offered her money from the start. If she doesn't want to be intimate with him, he will just offer her money. He will keep offering until she agrees." Alexander's expression became more serious.
James walked around her, then stood close to her, patting her buttocks. "Tighten your hips, suck in your stomach."
Victoria instinctively followed his instructions when he patted her, but she felt uncomfortable and disrespected.
‘Who are you exactly? Why are you so ruthless even if I pay?’ Alexander wondered.
Alexander was also displeased because he had never been so rough.
But James quickly took out a soft ruler and gestured a few important lines on her body.
He didn't take notes, but Victoria, typically fearless, hesitated to challenge his authority. She wasn't going to wear the dress anyway. She hadn't agreed to marry Alexander.
"Although Mrs. Harrington has a bad temper, most beauties tend to be a bit pretentious, which is understandable," James said as he finished his work.
Victoria wanted to laugh but felt a bit angry.
‘He compliments my beauty, but accusing me of being pretentious? Where is the pretense? In this marriage, he comes and goes as he pleases, causing a commotion, and now he quietly arranges for someone to make a wedding dress for me. Why should I agree?’ Victoria pondered.
She was just being pretentious, glancing at Alexander.
Alexander was immediately serious and said, “Mrs. Harrington is always genuine. It's no surprise that Mr. Patel has been single for so long.”
Victoria also looked at James, seeing his sudden change in expression, she felt a bit relieved.
"I will charge you for every second you waste as a couple," James said before he left.
Having stood up, Alexander walked casually towards Victoria.
Victoria stood there, looking puzzled as she watched James suddenly leave.
She found this person a bit strange.
She had heard that senior designers often had some personal quirks, but this man looked handsome. How could he not have a partner? It was almost understandable that he didn't have a long-term relationship.
"Don't be fooled by his appearance. He's actually very sentimental." Victoria suddenly turned to see a tall man in a white shirt in front of her, his dark eyes gazing gently at her.
Gently looking at her, Victoria felt like she was losing her mind. When did he sneak up behind her?
"Do you want to know his story? Shall I tell you?" Alexander spoke softly again.
Victoria immediately avoided his gaze, restraining her rapid heartbeat, and said, "I'm not that interested in hearing about other people's stories."
Reflecting on their circumstances, she looked at him with wide eyes and inquired, "I have to ask, Alexander, why did you have someone make a wedding dress for me without my approval?
Alexander imitated her soft tone and said, "I wanted to surprise you."
