Chapter 536 Decision-Making Ability

"What's up?" Shoure asked.

Victoria thought, 'Ignorance is bliss.'

She looked up at Shoure, who was staring right at her, and after a moment, said, "I go by Felicity now."

Shoure was stunned. The name rang a bell, but he couldn't place it.

He'd been swamped lately and hadn't kept up with the latest gossip.

Victoria added, "Don't tell Alexander I came to your office because of this."

Shoure got the gist and asked, "Then what should I say it's about?"

Victoria thought for a moment, then locked eyes with Shoure. "Just say I have a crush on you. And that I bugged you for your number and Facebook."

Shoure was so shocked he took a step back, staring at her in disbelief.

He thought, 'Victoria has a crush on me?'

It wasn't that Shoure lacked confidence.

But Victoria was Alexander's girl, and unless he had a death wish, he wouldn't dare say that.

Seeing how freaked out Shoure was, Victoria spoke up again, "If you have another excuse to use, that's fine too, just don't say it's this."

She couldn't think up any other excuse.

"Alright." Shoure finally relaxed a bit, but he couldn't think of another reason either.

"When it's time to move the grave, give me a call, okay?" Victoria said softly.

"Me?"

"Yes."

"What happened between you and Mr. Harrington?" Shoure asked, curious.

"Don't you know Alexander married a new wife? I saw it online not long ago."

"What?" Shoure was taken aback.

Shoure didn't know because he didn't pay much attention to online gossip.

His job was really tough, keeping him busy all the time.

"Seems like you really don't know anything. Aren't you with Janaye?" Victoria asked.

"How do you know?" Shoure felt a bit uneasy.

When Janaye had gotten together with him, Victoria had already disappeared.

Victoria sighed and said softly, "I think this spot is nice, but do we really have to move the grave?"

"You have no idea how expensive this land is now," Shoure said.

"How expensive?" Victoria asked, curious.

Shoure held up two fingers.

Victoria saw it and could only hold back a gasp.

She glanced again at the relatively comfortable spot he had found and then said, "Alright then. Your number hasn't changed, right? I'll contact you later. Please take care of this."

Shoure asked again, "You and Mr. Harrington are no longer in touch?"

He even felt that the Victoria in front of him was somewhat unfamiliar.

She used to be cautious, but now she seemed much colder.

And she seemed to have a bit more decisiveness.

In just a short while, Victoria had assigned him several tasks, none of which were easy.

Shoure couldn't help but ask her quietly out of curiosity, "What exactly happened to you?"

They had always worked well together, so he thought their relationship was fairly good.

Victoria didn't treat Shoure as an outsider either, so she explained, "Victoria is dead. I'm Felicity now. Just remember that. By the way, when you and Janaye get married, let me know. I might not be able to attend, but I'll definitely send a gift."

"That's so nice of you. I'll definitely tell you when the time comes, but just in case you didn't know, one of your friends is getting married soon."

"Who?" Victoria was puzzled.

"Olivia. Didn't you two start a company together? She's getting married soon. Didn't you know that?"

"Yeah, we haven't been in touch for a long time." Victoria raised her head slightly, thinking seriously, and then asked, "Is it with Mr. Sinclair?"

Shoure replied, "Yeah. They were childhood sweethearts. One time while drinking, Mr. Sinclair said he wouldn't marry anyone but her, and Olivia agreed. I happened to be there."

Victoria remarked, "I didn't expect Olivia to be so soft-hearted."

Of course, she knew Olivia was kind and gentle, but she didn't expect her to agree to Edward so easily.

Victoria thought, 'If Olivia is getting married, I need to quickly prepare a gift.'

Victoria soon left. As she was taking the elevator down, the CEO's private elevator was going up. She instinctively kept looking at that elevator and then saw Alexander.

She always felt that Alexander was somewhat different from before. He seemed colder.

'That's fine too. When a man is cold, a woman will back off a bit,' she thought.

Victoria didn't expect Alexander to suddenly look up and meet her gaze.

Her heart pounded for a moment.

Luckily, she quickly looked down and the elevator descended, sparing her from seeing him any longer.

In the CEO's office, Alexander listened to Shoure's explanation, hands on his hips. "What nonsense are you telling me?"

Shoure whispered fearfully, "Victoria told me to say that."

Shoure thought, 'Victoria, I'm not betraying you on purpose. I'm just trying to stay alive.'

Alexander felt even more annoyed. 'Victoria is now teaching people how to lie, huh?'

Not long after, Alexander got word that Victoria had left.

He found it amusing.

They had both moved on, so why should he be upset?

From now on, they'd go their separate ways, as long as she didn't return to Hewston City.

If she dared to come back, he wouldn't let her off easy.

He didn't care how desperate she looked. If Victoria dared to come onto him like last time, he wouldn't stop.

Alexander started taking Tessa to various parties every night, solidifying their image as a loving couple.

One day, while dining at a club, Benjamin started to worry.

After all, Victoria and Alexander had only gotten a marriage certificate at first, but later they developed feelings for each other.

And now Tessa was clinging to Alexander, and Alexander seemed very cooperative.

Benjamin took a swig of his drink, feeling a burning sensation in his throat for no reason.

Tessa said coquettishly to Alexander, "Alexander, I saw a new handbag yesterday, but they said it's out of stock and wouldn't sell it to me. Can you find a way to get it for me?"

Alexander frowned at her, then glanced at Benjamin and said with a smile, "Ask Janaye."

"But I want you to get it for me personally." Tessa knew Janaye was Alexander's secretary, but she wanted Alexander to do it.

Alexander felt a wave of nausea, then looked at Benjamin, hinting for help.

Benjamin was slowly pouring himself a drink and said, "Which store?"

Tessa said to Benjamin arrogantly, "I'm talking to my Alexander. What does it have to do with you? Stay out of our marital affairs."

Alexander stared at Tessa, but suddenly Victoria came to his mind, and he downed a glass of wine.

When Edward came in from outside, he saw that both men looked unhappy, and Tessa was acting quite spoiled. He asked curiously, "Are you two fighting over one woman?"

Benjamin immediately retorted, "What nonsense are you talking about?"

Alexander said calmly, "We're married. What's there to fight over?"

Benjamin felt a pang of sadness.

Edward listened, smiled awkwardly but politely, and then handed out two invitations.

"Do we really need invitations?" Benjamin asked, but he still picked up an invitation to take a look. He was always looking at other people's invitations, which was quite frustrating. He wondered if he could learn something from them.

Edward crossed his legs and raised his eyebrows, saying, "You two don't need invitations. These are for Ms. Hughes and Ms. Katherine."

"Thank you, Edward." Tessa immediately snatched the invitation from Benjamin's hand to look at it herself. She thought, 'So this is what an invitation looks like.'

Previously, people always sent invitations to Tessa's parents. At twenty-four, this was the first time Tessa had personally received an invitation.

Although it was a bit late, she was very excited on the inside.

Edward said to Alexander, "Olivia said if it's too much trouble for you, she can deliver Ms. Katherine's invitation herself."

Alexander stared at the invitation on the table but didn't respond immediately.

Tessa's eyes lit up as she said, "Do you want to deliver it to Ms. Katherine? How does Alexander know where she lives? She's not from here. Since I have nothing to do, why don't I find out her address and deliver it to her?"

As soon as Tessa said this, the three men fell silent.

Instantly, the entire private room became quiet, and a thin layer of ice seemed to form.

Benjamin gave Tessa a look, and she realized she had said something wrong. She quickly put the invitation back in its place.
