Chapter 884 Won't Last Two Months

Victoria's palms even started to sweat as she stared straight at the car door.

"Alexander is on a business trip and couldn't come."

Benjamin noticed Victoria's thoughts and explained.

"I understand."

Victoria still hadn't recovered.

When the car door slowly closed, she felt relieved.

"Are you okay?"

Olivia walked up to her, holding one of her hands, and found her palm was wet. She couldn't help but feel relieved that Alexander didn't come.

Everything was fine until Alexander called Benjamin, asking him to bring Strawberry back.

Benjamin was sitting in Victoria's living room and said, "Isn't this inappropriate? Let's wait until Mrs. Arabella Harrington goes back and takes Strawberry with her."

Victoria had just relaxed for a moment, but hearing Alexander's words made her nervous again.

Did Alexander miss Strawberry?

But Arabella hadn't said she was leaving yet; she said she wanted to stay a few more days.

Victoria didn't dare to speak recklessly. Seeing Victoria's unease, Tessa mouthed to Benjamin, "Hang up."

Benjamin immediately hung up the phone, put it on silent, and placed it back in his pocket, saying, "He can't catch us now anyway, so let's just enjoy ourselves and not answer his calls."

"That's right, from now on, no one is allowed to answer Alexander's calls." Olivia immediately chimed in.

"Alright, let's just have fun. Those who don't come have no right to boss us around." Tessa added.

Victoria thought they were all warm-hearted, and she felt a bit overwhelmed by their kindness.

But today, she liked this feeling of being pampered.

Arabella suggested that since it was rare for everyone to gather abroad, they should have a party and a big meal that night.

They all stayed at Victoria's house, went out during the day, and slept at home at night, including Victoria in all activities.

Later, Maximus, Brett, and Eloise also arrived, making the family even more complete.

After resting, Eloise said, "I want to stay here longer; the air here is so fresh."

"Then let's not go back yet and stay a bit longer." Arabella agreed.

"Victoria, do you feel that having so many people at home is too noisy for you?"

"I'd love for you all to stay here with me," Victoria said happily.

"Then we won't leave; we'll stay here to avoid getting annoyed by seeing Alexander at home," Eloise said.

"The other night, Alexander drank so much he ended up in the hospital. He's such a mess." Brett said casually.

Arabella was startled and was about to speak when Maximus, behind her, squeezed her hand and shot her a glance.

Victoria, however, was worried.

'Alexander drank so much he ended up in the hospital?'

'Why hadn't I heard about it?'

'No, I don't need to hear about it.'

Victoria thought and suddenly realized she was too agitated and instinctively looked around, finding everyone pretending not to notice her, which made her calm down.

They were all done.

If Alexander said "take care" to her next time, she would just reply the same.

A week later, Benjamin and Olivia went back, leaving only the Harrington family elders and Victoria at home.

Brett and Eloise were constantly posting pictures of Strawberry on social media, looking very happy.

But in Ankenra City, it was a different scene.

That night, at the club.

Alexander looked irritably at his two good friends, "Is it so difficult for you to bring Strawberry back?"

"How can the two of us take care of a child?" Edward said.

"If Benjamin can't do it, fine, but you can't take care of a child either?" Alexander asked unhappily.

Edward, having become a father, was very good with kids, and this couldn't fool him.

"If you miss Strawberry that much, you should go find her yourself. If we bring her back, what will Victoria think of us? Olivia and Tessa are Victoria's closest friends. If Benjamin and I forcibly take Strawberry, it will cause a huge rift."

"If you want to see Strawberry, just go there yourself. We stayed at Victoria's place before we came back. Adrian and Melissa are there every day. It's quite lively." Benjamin added.

Edward quietly observed Alexander's expression, recognizing the abrupt shift to a colder demeanor.

Edward couldn't help but say, "Victoria seems to be doing well over there, but we always feel she's not truly happy. Why don't you go see her, sincerely apologize, and you two can go back to how things were."

"That's what I think too. Even if she wants to run away, it's not the first time. Besides, she would only run to her parents' house in Elysium Country. You have her phone's location, so you won't have trouble finding her. You don't need to be this angry with her." Benjamin added.

"We can't go back."

Alexander thought about the things he had said to Victoria before.

Every single one of those words indicated that they couldn't go back.

Before she fainted and coughed up blood, she told him she would thank him for taking care of her body. At that moment, they probably couldn't go back.

The things she said that day were even harsher, like not contacting each other in any way.

Alexander mocked himself internally, then leaned over to open the metal cigarette case on the table, lit a cigarette, and smoked silently without saying another word.

Edward and Benjamin wondered if Alexander didn't want to go back.

When things were good with Victoria, Alexander was always cheerful. When things were bad, he was gloomy and scary.

They wanted to see Alexander happy, so they hoped he would go find Victoria.

"You said you miss Strawberry. You haven't seen her for so long. Go see her and casually show some concern for Victoria. Victoria's not doing well; take care of her, and you two will reconcile." Edward suggested again.

"Do you think she will reconcile with me that easily?"

"What else?" Edward asked.

Edward thought Alexander was acting out of love and hate.

"She's stubborn. Once she decides on something, she won't change."

"Olivia said Victoria admitted she fell in love with you at first sight. You said she won't change once she decides on something. What about when she decides on a person?"

"If she had even a bit of feeling for me, she wouldn't think about taking Strawberry and leaving."

Alexander said almost heartlessly, with a certainty that Victoria had abandoned him.

"You're not off the hook either."

Edward only dared to mutter but still received a murderous glare from Alexander. "Yes, I made a mistake. I was too trusting, thinking..."

Alexander choked up in frustration, then angrily stubbed out his cigarette and got up to leave.

"Alexander."

"Forget it, let's wait a bit longer."

Edward was about to call out to Alexander but was stopped by Benjamin.

The door closed from the outside, and Edward whispered, "What do we do next?"

"My wedding is in half a month. Let's find an excuse to get Victoria to come to the wedding."

"I understand your point. Only if Victoria comes back can they meet and reconcile. But she already politely refused when she was at her place, didn't she?"

"Tessa is still trying," Benjamin said.

"I think all efforts are in vain. Victoria has no intention of coming back." Edward said.

"If we don't try, they might be done."

"Done?"

Edward frowned at those words, then couldn't help but shake his head after a while. "I don't think so. From what I know of Alexander, he won't last two months."

"Wanna bet?"

"Bet it is. I bet they'll meet by September. If they don't, you can borrow my boat for six months."
