Chapter 433 Confrontation of Four People
"After this, don't take her out drinking anymore, and be mindful of what you say," Alexander said before leaving.
Olivia muttered to herself, "We were having fun chatting together, what's with being mindful?"
Alexander arrived at the office building where Victoria was picking at her fingernails.
She had been feeling uncomfortable with her nails since morning, and it was getting worse now.
When stepping out of the elevator, he overheard Janaye asking her, "Victoria, what are you picking at?"
"Just a moment, and I'll get it out soon," Victoria said.
Once she got it out, she would know.
Feeling a sudden sharp pain at the back of his neck, Alexander strode over quickly.
"Mr. Harrington." Janaye stood up.
"You, come with me," Alexander agreed with a nod, then tapped on Victoria's desk, staring at her as a reminder.
Victoria silently looked at him, remembering the video still on his phone that hadn't been deleted. She immediately resumed focusing on whatever was in her fingernails, telling him, "Take Janaye with you. I'm not feeling well."
"Don't you want to know the truth?" Alexander asked.
Victoria remained silent for a long time after raising her eyes to him again.
Alexander stared at her calmly as if to say, "Yes, it's about that matter."
Victoria lowered her gaze and started packing up her things, trying hard to maintain composure, but it was evident in her expressions that she couldn't contain her emotions.
She knew what she was about to do, and even her breathing seemed different from usual.
It wasn't until they left together that Janaye couldn't help but ask in confusion, "Does Mr. Harrington come up specifically to escort Victoria out?"
Both Victoria and Alexander remained silent in the elevator. Alexander glanced at her, fearing she might still be upset about last night's events.
But at that moment, Victoria was too caught up in excitement to remember anything else.
Victoria still wore only their wedding rings on her hands. She had long put away the engagement ring.
Alexander reached out to hold her hand, but Victoria withdrew hers from his warm palm, mumbling, "You don't have to hold my hand."
"But I want to hold my wife," Alexander replied casually.
Victoria was already a bit annoyed. Unable to contain her frustration, she sighed and asked him, "Do you love your wife, then?"
Alexander smiled but didn't respond.
At that moment, Victoria promptly withdrew her hand from his warm palm.
Why would someone who doesn't love her want to hold her hand?
Her hand was meant to be held by someone who loved her.
Lately, she often recalled a famous line from a movie, 'If you can't find someone who loves you back, choose someone who loves you, rather than chasing after someone you love.'
After getting into the car, the two drove towards a road by the seaside.
There was an old warehouse on the outskirts of the city near the beach.
Several cars were parked nearby. After getting out of the car, Victoria quickly surmised that there were quite a few people inside. She turned to the person beside her and asked, "Is Isabella here too?"
"If you want her to be," Alexander said.
"I do," Victoria replied.
"Alright, she'll come," Alexander said.
His gaze toward her was profound, and he quickly made a phone call, "Bring Isabella over."
As Victoria listened to him calling Isabella, her heart raced a bit.
"Shall we go in first?" Alexander said.
The October seaside was a bit chilly.
"Okay." Victoria nodded in agreement.
She also wanted to meet that person early.
The door was pushed open, and sunlight shone into the room where two men were tied to chairs, looking somewhat disheveled.
