Chapter 1026 Blood Flowed from the Corner of Her Mouth
Daisy's face burned instantly, three clear finger marks visible, and blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.
She turned slowly, disbelief in her eyes, and as tears fell, she spat out each word with hatred. "You hit me? Elliot, who do you think you are?"
"I'm the father of the child you're carrying, and this man's partner. Got it now?"
Elliot pointed at her stomach, then pulled the man beside him closer.
Daisy's face turned a myriad of colors.
She never imagined Elliot could so boldly claim another man as his own.
He dared to say such things in front of Jerome's subordinates, acting so brave, yet not long ago, he was like a cowardly ant in front of those who bullied her.
He would rather admit to loving a man than love her.
Daisy had never found anything so laughable.
She didn't know if she was laughing because it was funny or because of the pain and humiliation, but tears kept streaming down her face as she laughed.
Diana and Victoria arrived at their destination.
As they got out of the car, Diana asked Frank, who was there to protect them, "Frank, did you notice a car following us?"
"It was Daisy. Her father's people have taken her away."
"It was her."
Diana thought she was like a persistent ghost.
But now it seemed Daisy was just trying to stir up trouble between Alexander and Victoria's marriage.
"Let's hope Mr. Bryant can keep her in check. Let's go."
Diana linked arms with Victoria and led her forward.
Victoria listened quietly, but hearing Daisy's name again made her feel that something significant must have happened between them, though she had no memory of it.
"Victoria, don't let that name get to you. She's just a tramp who likes to chase married men. Back when you and Alexander were having issues, many women tried to take advantage, but Alexander didn't care for them. He made it clear he wasn't interested. Now that you're back, they're just trying to cause trouble between you two."
Diana spoke as they walked.
Victoria smiled, hoping Diana was right.
He was her husband.
Had their relationship hit a rough patch, and then she was kidnapped?
She'd heard that kidnappers sometimes target the wives of wealthy families.
"If you let Daisy get to you, you'll be playing right into her hands, and it will only strain your relationship with Alexander further."
Diana continued, and Victoria listened intently.
A group of people followed them as they slowly reached their destination.
Frank and his men stood guard nearby.
Diana called out to him before closing the door, "Don't stay too close. It's unnecessary. He was strong and could take on both of you."
Frank was skeptical but stayed outside.
Before they arrived, he had someone check the place out.
Diana settled Victoria down and winked at the monk, saying, "Give Victoria a good reading. She's been through a lot. Will things get better for her?"
The doctor glanced at Victoria's delicate face, though her eyes couldn't see.
Victoria felt good on the way back from the mountain.
Diana, however, was scared and warned her, "Don't tell Alexander I took you here, or he'll tear the place down."
Victoria listened, puzzled, and turned towards her.
"You don't know, when Grandma was kidnapped, he almost leveled this place."
Victoria was confused but understood not to speak carelessly.
Frank drove, thinking that Victoria probably didn't know the real reason.
"It's Mr. Harrington."
As they talked, Frank saw a car parked ahead and stopped.
Diana looked ahead and was startled.
How did Alexander appear just as they mentioned him?
Was she seeing things?
Victoria sat quietly beside Diana, but her ears perked up at the mention of Mr. Harrington. She immediately pictured him in her mind.
In her mind, he was tall, wearing an expensive suit, with beautiful hands, though she couldn't remember his face.
The car door opened, and it was cold as the Chirimas approached.
She felt her arm being grabbed. She didn't resist, recognizing the touch.
"Alexander."
"Yeah, I'm taking Victoria."
"Oh."
Diana was a bit nervous.
But Alexander helped Victoria out of the car, and she obediently followed.
She waved her hand, thinking she was facing the car door, but she was facing the front of the car.
"Bye, Tori."
Diana saw her wave and said goodbye.
Frank then drove Diana away, leaving others to follow Alexander and Victoria.
Alexander looked down at Victoria, who kept smiling, and asked, "Are you tired?"
Victoria shook her head.
Alexander said, "If she wants to take you to these places again, you can refuse."
Victoria didn't see the need to refuse.
Diana was kind enough to take a blind person out, which was already very nice.
Otherwise, she'd be stuck at home all the time.
Though she was happy at home, she appreciated being taken out to experience different places, breathe different air, and meet different people.
Maybe it would help her remember things from before.
"Tori? What are you thinking about?"
